Made me remove my KN95 mask and use their mask. I was wearing a KN95 mask for better protection,…read morebut I had to take it off!! Dr. Lee had a very cool attitude towards me after he looked at my passed records. He knew I wasn't one of his regular patients, even though my other gastro Dr. said he was the one that did my gallbladder surgery. Had no record of it!! He couldn't help me at all. He just recommended a pain management group who I have already seen, and would NOT see again. This pain group asked me to order a special pill that I've never heard of and that was out of state, pretty expensive AND not covered by insurance. Not sounding to normal to me at all. Dr. Lee really didn't seem interested in helping me at all. The visit was a waste of time and very disappointing.

This doctor is also known as Yen Chung (Andrew) lee…read more My husband accompanied me to see this doctor/surgeon. We both initially felt Dr. Lee was a bit arrogant. My husband mentioned a painful bodily issue I had experienced and Dr. Lee completely cut him off. He was somewhat dismissive regarding my pain issues following surgery done by Dat Tien Nguyen. He commented that I should simply be happy that the two breast lumps were not cancerous and basically to get over it; meaning the injuries and pain. I told him I was grateful the lumps were not cancerous, yet my pain was unbearable and I had blood oozing from my nipple. After he saw the blood coming out of my nipple he seemed to understand my pain and issues were legit. He did order blood work and an ultrasound, which was good. He reaffirmed what other pain specialists had told me; the nerve damage suffered during Nguyen's surgery would be with me for life. The nerve pain was and IS in my breast and runs down into my ribs. I told Dr. Lee I had seen Dr. Peter Wong at Tri Valley Physicians about a week prior to my visit with him. I told him Dr. Wong prescribed an antibiotic for an infection, which I soon learned I did not have. Dr. Lee also reaffirmed that patients should not be treated with antibiotics if they do not have an infection; as was my case. Keep that in mind folks; be certain you actually DO have an infection before being treated for an infection. I had the ultrasound performed, yet wasn't called with the results as promised. I called his office and an employee, Frida took my message regarding the test results. Frida (hope I am spelling her name correctly) was a gem. She is a nice lady, compassionate and very professional. She gave Dr. Lee my message, yet he still failed to call with the test results. I called again the following day, as I'd been waiting on pins and needles for the test results. Frida said my test results were setting on his desk and had been for a couple days. I could tell she was frustrated too that he had not yet called me. Finally, Dr. Lee did call with the test results, yet he did not speak to me. Instead he left very detailed, private medical testing information on my answering machine. I was livid when I retrieved the message. I called him and expressed being angered by him leaving the detailed testing results on my answering machine for my children to hear and he did not care. ...HIPAA violation. You guessed it, another doctor added to the "Do Not Recommend" list. Sadly, that list has become very long.

Words can't express my happiness in dealings with Dr. Nguyen…read more I saw him earlier this year for gastric bypass surgery and I must say that not only do I find him to be a surgeon at the very top of his skill but a very patient man as well. I tend to ask a-lot of questions, how does this work, what happens next, and so on and so on. Dr Nguyen not only answered ALL of my questions but made the time to explain until I felt I could understand and fully comprehend what he was saying. How many Drs. do you know who will do that these days? His staff is impeccable, kind, organized and even remembered my name each time they saw me. Most importantly let's get to the surgery date, I was nervous but fully informed, the staff was excellent and I came in contact with nurses that had been right where I was, they had had the surgery themselves and felt as highly about Dr. Nguyen as I did and walked me through the whole process with great care and knowledge (Valley Care you amaze me!!) Before the procedure Dr. Nguyen came to check on me and see if I had any more questions (of course I did) and how I was doing. But here is the kicker for me, afterwards in recovery I woke up and there he was sitting down waiting to see how I felt and YES, if I had any more questions (which I did). This kind of treatment is the epitome of a classy doctor and I have heard he's like that with all of his patients. I researched Dr. Nguyen before this procedure and was very impressed by all of the other surgeons that respect him as well as the fact that he is a pioneer in his field and has preformed I think thousands of these surgeries, so I knew he was great at what he did. I just want to let everyone else know that he's a great person as well as a great Doctor and Surgeon.

Dr. Nguyen is very professional and personable. I have found he is always willing to hear…read moresuggestions by his patients. I had vertical sleeve gastrectomy on May 21 and weighed 286 pounds. Today is Dec 12 and I weight 195 pounds and still losing. I had little post surgical pain, some problems adjusting to the lifestyle change it required.......but am very pleased with the doctor, my ongoing care, and results. The only negative I have is the slowness of the office personnel returning your calls.
