It's a little bit of a hunt to find the office, but it's worth it. She took my case seriously, got x-rays, and then give my foot a thorough exam. I admit I screamed a few times, but it was good pain. She isolated the problem to a few possibilities, and suggested an MRI, which I'll be getting soon. I was impressed with Dr Erickson's grasp of her field. It's not often I encounter someone so capable. (And we engineers are not easily impressed.) Dr. Erickson is clearly an extraordinarily intelligent person. I'm pretty sure she's a rocket scientist or a quantum physicist in her spare time.

(We have had experience getting another toe taken care of before we moved to California and thought it would be a straightforward surgery.) This time it was multiple visits, constant infection and pain. It took months before the infection was totally gone. At times my wife felt her infected toe was an annoyance to the doctor. And now, unfortunately, my wife is left with a disfigured big toe that will never have a normal toe nail ever again. (see picture) We do not recommend Dr. Erickson.

I had a pair for years but my car was stolen 2 summers ago and my shoes with orthotics were inside. I work in a restaurant so I've basically been in pain ever since. I was running 3x a week anyway and a few months ago, I rolled my ankle. Then I rolled it again...and again and again. Time to do something! I saw Dr. Steinberg, his office manager Sharon got me in within hours! Got the X-rays and an examination and there was no *major* damage, but my feet need to be stabilized! My orthotics came in less than a week and I'm ALREADY feeling better! I'll give myself this week to get used to them and I'll start my running program next week. Half marathon, here I come! What I enjoyed most about him is how caring he is towards his patients. He treats you with Respect and doesn't rush you during your exam/appt.  either. I'm one of those patients who asks a million and one questions lol and still, he sits there and answers them so patiently. He's very friendly and you can tell he genuinely wants to get to know his patients. It's like you're treated like family when you come into the Pleasanton office. Dr. Bruener treated them in the office and in a couple of weeks they were completely cleared up. We were very impressed with her skills and efficiency. It is funny how things become part of the family lore, Dr. Breuner became part of the family lore -as in go to the right person, an expert. I recently found myself having foot pain, and decided to see the expert, Dr. Breuner. I'm glad I did, I've had this irritating pain for a while and in less than a week I am pain free. I have not had any physical therapy, but I am going to go because it was recommended, and I don't want my pain to return. I like the doctor and her expertise. I like the office staff. If I had one recommendation it would be to invest in digital x-rays, I would prefer to have a lower dose of radiation that digital x-rays provide.

Normally an avid hiker, I was being limited by what felt like a sore Achilles tendon. The…read moresituation progressively deteriorated until I noticed one day that it was quite enlarged compared to the other. I was referred to Dr Gregori who first wanted to see if the condition could be addressed with physical therapy and an exercise regiment he provided. After a couple months, of PT and no real improvement, I asked him for options. Although it has a one year recovery, I liked the surgical option the best as existing data gives it the best chance of a full recovery. I checked into Dr Gregori with other professionals that knew him and knew his work. He received nothing but good references. After the surgery which went off smoothly, my discomfort was minimal. It looks like he did a good job closing up the incisions as well and expect minimal scarring. Swelling has been my only issue and that is specifically due to my failure to elevate. Being self employed makes me feel like I don't have the option to spend most of the day with my foot up even though I know it's best. While Dr Gregori would prefer I take the course that speeds healing, he is also willing to give me enough information to where I can make my own decisions. His demeanor is professional and courteous. He is not an entertainer nor a touchy-feely kind of doctor. I can appreciate some people prefer that in a surgeon. Although I appreciate his professionalism, my main interests are competence and a willingness to answer questions. I've got a few more weeks before I can even weight the foot but at this point I'm very happy and I have no reservations recommending Dr Gregori.

I only have good things to say about Dr. Drbal. From his bedside manner to his enthusiasm and…read moreobvious joy and love for his profession to his surgical skills. An office visit is very quick, precise and to the point. If my appointment is at 3 o'clock I'm seen and out by 3:30. I can't ever remember having to wait very long in the lobby to be called in. This is important because after surgery I had to depend on others to bring me and I was able to assure them it wouldn't be long. The LVN Tiana is above par in terms of professionalism, warmth, and knowledge . This post would become a novel if I were to list all that she does to nail it! But to point out a few things, she made applying for disability effortless. She gave me tips and pointers on using crutches and where to get a knee walker and reassured me that other patients reported favorable results with the same planned surgery. She is also somehow always available to resolve issues. The same goes for Dr. Drbal. They both return messages promptly. The surgery went off without a hitch. I believe I did better than most. Things progressed just as I was told that it would. I love that Dr. Drbal really has an enthusiastic attitude during all encounters with him. Never ever a hint of annoyance at my many questions and many times I interrupted his speaking with more questions. I get the impression his profession is his hobby. Fast forward to post-OP surgical results. My incision looks really good and I can tell that I may end up with a barely visible scar. All my anxieties were put to rest and my pain is little to none at this point and I am walking with a boot at 6 weeks. I appreciate that Dr. Drbal told me exactly what to expect from start to finish. We started out taking the conservative route at first which was insoles and several excercises but with the physical demands of my job I couldn't avoid surgery. I never felt pressured about my decisions and he supported what I chose to do while keeping me fully informed. Short story long, I assure you if you are looking for the best of the best podiatrist, look no further. I promise you won't be disappointed!

However, to my surprise, he did not conclude by trimming my overgrown toenails, something that past podiatrists have always done in the course of seeing me. Instead he flatly said that he didn't trim toenails--which leaves me stuck with finding another podiatrist who does. Is this non-trimming rule something laid down recently by the management at Sutter Health? Online sources warn against going to nail salons because of possibly careless hygienic practices there, so what can I do?
