This condition continued over several weeks, so instead of taking pills, I decided to see a chiropractor for the first time. I saw three chiropractors without satisfaction, before I was treated by Dr. Katona, who fixed me up after two weeks. But what really convinced me to continue with Dr. Katona was that he also found and treated a persistent, low-level sore spot that I had in my middle back without my ever mentioning it. Since then, Dr. Katona has treated me over the years for physical injuries, the usual "overdoing it" in life, and the "tune up" adjustments every two months that keep me straight and limber as I age. I should mention that my wife is also a patient of Dr. Katona who was successfully treated for her acid-reflux due to a hiatal hernia. My wife was treated by medical doctors over a period of three years, who mostly prescribed antacids for her worsening condition. She learned that chiropractic care might be able to help her, so she went to Dr. Katona who after a few adjustments, "cured" her. I don't know if it will be the same for everyone with acid-reflux, but I do not exaggerate when I say it was a miracle treatment for my wife. I originally started at a Danville office for my initial care, then quickly switched to the San Lorenzo one for geographic convenience (which has since locally relocated). Fourth time being the charm (aka four doctors later), Dr. Doyle is still the AAAAAAAAH-SUUUUUUUUUMEST and continues to be the best by far. Her now-assistant, Christine, is a chip-off-the-old-warm, nerdy, relatable, welcoming, sympathetic-block and this "new" duo continue to be two of the loveliest people I've had the pleasure of knowing in an environment requiring personal touch and understanding. It's not just that the doctor has an unmatched bedside manner, legitimately knows what she's doing and makes you feel gooder/marvelous/terrific/wonderful/fantastic/super(day-depending) after each visit, but they both have insatiable personalities and humor, which is vital when helping and relating to others. Overall I've been feeling my best(still no headaches or occasional stomach issues) under her care and the most comfortable since she explains basic and new techniques she's doing and how they affect the body, depending on any different, abnormal pain you're experiencing or how bad (she's also not a creepy older man doing it). She teaches correct posture, stretches (VERY generous & helpful since I'm unable to make the occasional wellness class), advises on pillow types for pressure-relief at home & is really good with names. She listens to whatever is bothering you emotionally and/or physically and treats you like a friend (which not many doctors are able to do or care to). As such, you're no longer bothered upon leaving, as typically they both make you laugh too much to remember you were in pain at all. As soon as you enter the office Christine's super quirkiness makes you feel welcome, comfortable and cared for (and makes you want to discuss all genres of movies. And plants. And hiking.) and offers whatever she can to help lift your mood. If you ever happen to have to wait, she has a joke or semi-backwards hyperbole to keep you entertained. It's such an extraordinarily calming and quiet atmosphere, you're easily susceptible to napping. I haven't had a payment discussion for a millennia, but I don't even have to guess that Christine is equally wonderful with taking the time for a sit down and talk about your options in terms you can easily understand (very helpful if you're poor and semi-broke like me). So, it is a medical cost and expensive regardless, but these ladies are worth it. P.S. The new location is super-spacious, much better parking, benches are cushiony-er, and there's a tv now. And running water. With coffee, tea and purell. Oh, my! read more

A couple weeks ago I took a trip to Utah and I had an accident in the shower, I fainted and hurt my neck and knee when I hit the floor. I was really concerned about my knee mainly because it was hurting me a lot so I came on here to look up the closest chiropractor. When I found discover Chiropractic I felt so relieved because it's close to my house and the minute I called Chelsea was so welcoming and got me in the same day. My first visit was amazing, I went in for my knee and after filling out their questionnaire I realized how many other issues I had going on that I had been ignoring for a few years now. I had some x-rays taken and Dr. Freericks took the time to go over them with me and explain everything that was going on, educated me on how him and Dr. Truong will treat me. I been a dental assistant for 6 years, my posture has never been the best and it caught up to me, also I'm a crazy sleeper and I don't stretch as much as I should being a body builder and a dancer as well. Wow, wow, wow. After neglecting my chiropractic care for too long, I finally made my way in to take care of that car injury that youth was able to hide but time revealed. Upon entering the clean and organized office, I was greeted by Chelsey, the extremely friendly receptionist. Followed by a thorough and educational examination. I took my x-rays, was reviewed, and Dr. Sullivan along with Dr. Hans worked with me to develop a no-pressure plan to improve my standard of living. After the first adjustment, I felt great, but as we worked through our plan, always referenced before we start, I notice the difference. My range of motion has increased, my energy has rebounded, and my neck turns in directions I haven't been able to do since before my accident. For the past two years I've been receiving excellent care at Discover Chiropractic in Castro Valley. Dr. Hans Freericks and his staff are outstanding chiropractors that are gifted in their healing work and have helped me to maintain good physical health. I use to have lower back pain but with their help I have not experienced any major back or neck discomfort that would cause me to hunch over in agony. And if any signs of tightness start to emerge they are quick to take care of it and I get immediate relief. I am impressed by how in-tune each doctor is, beginning with of course Dr. Freehicks. So amazing how they focus and quickly determine what your personal needs are. For decades I've gone to several chiropractors but would safely say that Discover Chiropractic has been the best for me. I think Dr. Doyle works wonders! My wife got tired of seeing me with regular backaches and signed me up for a diagnostic. Well, after regular treatment, my backaches became less and less severe and are now practically non-existent after about 6 months. Gone instantly are the predictable ones like, if I did something physical (like washing a car), I would have an achy back the next morning. Christine (her office assistant) has this infectious positive cheerfulness that just makes you feel good as soon as you step through the door. The whole place exudes positiveness and, believe it or not, we have made new friends with fellow patients and renewed long time friendships by bumping into patients who we knew in times past. I was truly a skeptic when it came to chiropractics....Dr. Doyle has completely changed my mind! I came into this office on April 15th after a bad weekend of not being able to move! After x-rays were explained, treatment plan established, and the first adjustment done I can honestly say I was starting to see how chiropractics can improve one's health. When I first came in to Discover Chiropractic, I was in a lot of pain and have been having a lot of problems mainly with my hip and leg. The pain was so bad I could barely walk. With a few visits, Dr. Doyle has changed my life and has helped in my rehabilitation. It is the best thing for me to be adjusted by Dr Doyle. I also pulled my back out and was corrected in one visit. This has been my first experience with chiropractic care and I feel very lucky to have found such kind and caring people to help me like Dr. Chu and Jessica at Discover Chiropractic in Castro Valley. I could barely walk from the low back pain I had been experiencing so I called Discover Chiropractic/Castro Valley. Dr. Chu answered the phone and I explained to her I was in extreme pain and was seen in a matter of hours. Dr. Chu asked about my history of injuries, back pain symptoms and my daily routine. I couldn't walk up right. I slept on a bad mattress and completely messed my back up. Went into Discover and these guys took an X-ray, did some stuff to my back, and within minutes the pain was alleviated. I have been going to them for over 2 months now and I can safely say that my back is better than it was before it went out. I was hesitant to visit a chiropractor for my lower left back pain caused by a pinch nerve from a non contact sports injury. He gave me tons of tips and things to try at home so I wouldn't need to pay him a fortune to do it for me every week. Speaking of cost, they are incredibly reasonable ($45 per session, plus an extra $25 for the initial exam today). Dr. Phan is so easy to talk to and has a great bedside manner. I really enjoyed meeting him. He asks all the right questions to be able to help you, and is curious about your personal life too. Just an all-around wonderful guy. I've never experienced chiropractic care before I had gotten into a minor car accident that made me need it. Ryan is very accommodating and works well with your schedule! Everyone's chiropractic experience is different, but I do know that Ryan's adjustments definitely helped me recover from the pain caused by the accident! I'd be glad to stop by and get further chiropractic care from him.

Until after seeing Dr. Tenny, he got the neck pain to go away. Now, I don't let anybody touch or adjust my neck except for Dr. Tenny. He's also available Saturday by appointment only. He has a very different method, it's not just cracking your back. He incorporate stretching and alignment to correct your back pain. I highly recommend trying his method.
