They leave a lot of good items in the rooms so you can save some money when you go grocery shopping. Things like dish soap, silverware/dishes, ice, laundry detergent and a few other things were available for us. If you do late check in they will leave a map out for you to find your room which was great for my extremely delayed flight arrival (some cabins don't have room numbers marked so it would be impossible without their maps). The front desk was very pleasant and answered all questions I had. Additionally it never felt too busy at any time of the day; it was extremely relaxing.

We really enjoyed having the hot tub in the room. The bed was super comfy and the linens and towels were plush and soft. I loved the heated towel rack next to hot tub so you were super warm getting out of the tub. Having a fire place was nice to fall asleep to. Our room was ready early and very welcoming upon arrival. Area is quiet and the grounds are very clean. Highly recommend these condos and will absolutely return. I was bummed because I thought our condo was on the river but we were on the opposite side. Next time I will call to make sure its on the river. Highly recommend Beaver Brook on the River!! The roads leading up to the house all the way from the street are NOT handicap accessible. There are many bumps and potholes & unfinished speed bumps. We have a handicap accessible van that sits low for the ramp, It was extremely difficult to get through & there was damage done to our van everytime we exited the facility & came back. When we used a driveway to go around the speed bump that was scraping we were met by the manager who has not been very helpful to say the least. He raised his voice at us when we used the driveway to go around the speed bump that was damaging our van. Which is our ONLY transportation with the wheelchair. He yelled at us then processed to cuss at us then stormed off in his ATV and kicked the dust up on purpose when asked if he could fix it.Again, We are in a handicap van and have told him many times that it was damaging our car & he also witnessed it MANY times. *Mark was extremely rude and unprofessional, we did not feel comfortable asking him for any help during our stay. We will not be recommending this place to anyone! Not handicap accessible, and EXTREMELY Rude staff.

While I don't know what type of low-grade accommodations the high reviewers are accustomed to, as a very frequent traveler, I do know that this place does not deserve anything higher than 3 stars. Pros: very simple, homey old-timey cottages that hearken back to a 1940's grandma's house. Central location right outside one of RMNP's entrances. Nice touches with working fireplaces, 1 free bundle of firewood, variety of games and dvds to choose from, and fairly ample kitchenette offerings including a mini-stove, full sink and place settings. Restaurant choices across the street. Cons: this place is TIRED. Everything is run-down and dingey from the raggedy bedspreads to the broken kitchenette drawers, to the shower handle that fell off when we went to turn it on. Outside lawn chairs were moldy and crusty - uninviting. Curtains were dusty with gnats stuck to them. The children's mini-playground area - which could've otherwise been such a nice touch - was littered with dog poo and other debris from apparently months of neglect. If the rental charge were more appropriate for this low-level of accommodation, like $75-$100, I might give more stars. But $200? Uh no.

The first time was 20 years ago and we loved it back then which is why we decided to go back. In the past I'd have given it 4 or even 5 stars. However.... Pros are the great location close to so many amenities such as restaurants and stores, very quaint appearance, dogs allowed, wood burning fireplace, parking right outside your unit's door, easy self check-in, and how quiet it is even though it's off a fairly busy street. This place has tons of potential. Cons are a general lack of maintenance including a broken bar in the sleeper sofa that didn't support any weight and collapsed, unusable very disgusting cooking pans, dirty oven, and a general lack of cleanliness. For example under the chair cushions were years of dust and a variety of objects like socks, loose change, hair ties, etc. Tons of dirt under the sofa and bed, the fireplace glass screen was so dirty you couldn't see the fire so we cleaned it ourselves, all the dishes were filthy, lots of loose hair in the bathroom, etc. You get the idea. Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. We love rustic but these cottages cross the line into decrepit compared to other places we've stayed. They are in need of some refurbishment and replacement of furniture and household items.
