Broke down on the way home after 2 months in the shop. Towed back to to the shop 2 more times. Each time adding more to the bill getting the total up to almost $5,000. Still runs like crap. Finally brought to John's auto repair in Westfield where he had it for 1 day and was able to diagnose the problem as low compression. Vehicle running on 2 1/2 cylinders. Went to small claims court with this "hack" and his defense was to lie! I am guilty of continuing to pay his bills and trust him. He is thoroughly incompetent. Read his reviews! Majestrate kept saying there was no actual statement saying he was to reconditioned the engine. WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK IT WAS THERE.! Did I not have a reasonable expectation that I would get back a vehicle in good running condition after all he did with the doubling of the original estimate. STAY AWAY!!!!

I brought my car to a local business to check on the brakes and they charged me $80 and said my brakes were in great condition. Since September 2024 I brought my car to 2 different Audi dealers and neither one said I needed brakes (the last check was Friday 8/22) They lost a customer I'll never go back again.

If you can avoid buying a car here you should…read more You want a dealer that will do what they say, but this isn't one for doing so. The sales team there has a woman named Melissa who pretends to pay attention to you but is actually entirely unreliable, lies, won't answer her phone or find ways to make your situation simple. It's a very disorganized place. You don't even know who's in charge of anything.

The car was to be registered on a Friday in Connecticut but wasn't till the following Tuesday. The car was to be delivered on that Wednesday but didn't till the following Tuesday. In store the sales manager saw I was wearing a retired military hat and started a politically charged conversation that we (he and I) were "like-minded People". My wife looked at me and said, "you need to stop wearing those hats." During the 1 1/2 weeks waiting to get the GV70 we had difficulty getting any status, blame went all around, CT DMV scheduling, Prep people didn't work on the car. While this was going on I must have received, 6+ calls asking me if they could do anything to have me purchase a new Genesis. I kept explaining that we already did purchase a GV70 and still didn't have it. On the day of the delivery, we had a call about 15 Minutes before it arrived. We asked the drivers if they could help us with the setup. We were certainly surprised when they said, "we don't know anything about these cars" and left, they didn't want to put our plates on because the gentleman couldn't bend down or go on one knee at the time. To top it off we found lots of delivery plastic throughout the car and the car exterior was dirty, it was supposed to have a ceramic coating, we called the salesperson for a certificate, he said he would send it, we never got it. We took the car to a dealer friend, and he said it wasn't applied. FYI we also paid for the service agreement -and were getting numerous call s after 4 weeks of ownership to bring it in for its first service. We told the service person the car only had 300 miles on it. Since then, we haven't heard anything from the dealer in 8 months, the car is not our primary vehicle and has 3000K on it. If you were planning on purchasing a Genesis from the Northampton dealership I would not recommend it.

It's not because…read moreI loved Toyota vehicles thanks to a Business professor I had at UMass, and it's not because I was advised they break down less by a tow driver. This review is especially not because of Toyota's complicity in bending the knee, or because they financed a loan my family was good for after our last Toyota was totaled. No. I'm going to give Lia Toyota of Northampton a five star review because they were there for us to help us part with our old RAV4 Hybrid SUV after local wildlife died inside. There you have it: grief, and death. All this can happen in what's typically thought of as, 'an asset': your car investment. You're not driving money bags around, you're insulating your family or self within a metal chamber going at speeds that threaten life. Whole industries and lives depend upon fleets of these vehicles traveling to regular destinations, keeping a fast pace, or making long treks. To know that there's death inside your car and somebody needs to get to the bottom of it surprises me in that it only a dealership or auto expert are capable when it's a dead animal. And Lia did so for us. I gave their repair shop grief, imagining that there was some awful coincidence between our car becoming a gravesite after we finished regular maintenance. Instead, with the weather as it is everywhere, cars are where animals will end up as an escape. I probably was not their first distraught customer, a customer not sure of what the world does with an inhospitable vehicle for transport. Lia, who had been doing maintenance on our car for some time and continues to on our new vehicle, held our hand through the process of discovering our loss. They took apart this car piece by piece once they knew there was mechanical failure. What was left was a sad story of loss that Lia traveled with us as we had to lose a vehicle to another natural disaster besides a flood. The amount of humanity and kindness that Nathan and the other staff at Lia showed me they are more than mechanists, they were car doctors for us and the whole industry of automobiles. I can only blame this on hiring locally, and years of expertise within the auto industry. I don't think we're done grieving our loss. I owe it to Lia that I can tell the story to Yelp, since you all are going to bring or buy your vehicle here, with Lia, and I can pray they keep this heart throughout the new developments in used and new auto sales.

I swore this place off two years ago…read more.. That time I had a fine experience with the service team but somehow ended up on a list with the sales department both trying to buy my car (it's not for sale) and sell me something (I'm not in the market). Trying to explain nicely that I found this practice offensive, got me no where... so I just decided I wasn't going back. Then I had a problem with my car, one in which, in my experience, is best left to the dealership... just in case. I told them over the phone what the problem was. They asked if I wanted to do a diagnostic, I reiterated exactly what part it was - she said, okay. Flash forward to the day I take the car in. She asked me if I wanted to continue with the diagnostic or order and prepay for the part - which would be their next Tuesday. Confused, I said, "this is the sole reason I'm here?!" She then told me we had this discussion and I agreed to the diagnostic. I explained that I hadn't and reiterated that I had told her it was this exact part. She told me that's not what happened and she had taken notes. When someone is that wiling to lie and it roles off the tongue so easily... you just got to get out of there... I replied, "I'm out" and I bailed. I used to be able to say the service department was honest and reliable (if very expensive) but stay away from sales. Now, I can't say that either. So instead I say, stay away from Lia Toyota.

We scheduled a time with Amanda, and arrived excited to see the vehicle. It turned out it was still in transit. (Or so we thought.) We test drove the same car, but as an automatic (we required manual). Eager to begin negotiations, Greg informed us that the vehicle that we came to test drive (with the intent on purchasing) had already been sold! He wouldn't sell it to us. We understood, and I respect his integrity and care of an existing customer. We shifted our focus to a GTI Autobahn. We purchased the car, but it was missing a key! We purchased and took the car home on Tuesday, but it wasn't until Monday the following week that the issue was solved. It took two trips (140 miles total), and many hours in the dealer each time to solve them. In the end, it all could've been solved without the traveling, via mail and telephone. If you're a salesman, Greg is a model guy. Friendly, informed, but WILL NOT budge on price. Very skilled, but very frustrating. Sadly, though, as much as I'd like to, when we buy another car (which we will be soon), I don't see us returning to Northampton VW. Lack of willingness to negotiate, and organization in solving our issues are the reasons behind that. There are many other dealers around, and though they likely won't be as friendly (it'd be hard to beat this team!), price and organization is more important and they were simply not competitive in those respects. In the end, Greg worked with us to solve the issue, friendly and supportive the entire time. It just could've been handled more smoothly in my opinion, and saved us much of time and hassle. Thanks for getting us into a car we love!

The process from start to finish was flawless and we are happy with our car. I would highly recommend Northhampton VW and especially Jason Leclair as a salesperson. Any dealer would be proud to have 8 of him.
