August 9, 2026 - Ridgway, CO…read more It was my husband's birthday, so we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast--and we're so glad we found Kate's. The servers were incredibly friendly, and the dog-friendly patio was a definite bonus since we had our pup with us. The breakfast was really good, too. I had the Eggs Benedict, which was delicious, with fruit on the side. I especially appreciated that our server told me exactly what fruit would be included--small detail, but helpful. This was a great spot for a birthday morning breakfast, especially if you're looking for somewhere with friendly staff, great food and a dog-friendly patio.

The staff Grace, Eric and Donna were just as nice as the food and surroundings. The breakfast beast is what I ordered and man ,I'm not big on scrambled eggs but when they're cooked right , I like um. The bacon was thick and cooked perfect and to boot a paper boat with a biscuit and sausage gravy and a healthy portion at that. Then came the best pancakes I've ever had , not loaded with fruit and nuts , which I happen to love, but just light fluffy with crispy edges that was my desert, I relished every bit. I real surprise and treat , I highly recommend.

The ordering process is simple: grab a menu when you enter, find a seat, and place your order at the counter when you're ready. The staff was professional, polite, and welcoming throughout our visit. The breakfast burrito was outstanding, easily the best one I had during my time in Colorado. It was perfectly prepared, complete with beautiful panini-style grill marks that added both texture and flavor. I was also impressed by the extensive selection of hot sauces, with options to suit just about every taste. In addition to the food, they offer a great selection of local craft beers. Unfortunately, it was only 9:30 in the morning, so I wasn't able to take advantage of that part of the menu! One of the highlights is the large window overlooking the mountains surrounding the town, providing a beautiful backdrop while you dine. This is the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, and I will definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

We had heard such good things about Cassidy's, both the food and the customer service, that we…read moreskipped lunch so we could enjoy an early dinner tonight. We walked in the door and was warmly greeted by the only guy we saw working there. He was grinding up coffee, which smelled really good! We read the sign that said to take a menu, pick a table, then go to the counter and order your meal. We went to the counter and the friendly guy. Let us smell the copy that he was grinding. We then placed our order for one brisket entrée, and one salmon entrée. Then we asked him about splitting a Caesar, and he said sure. After paying for the meal upfront, he pointed us to the table where we could pick up our napkins, utensils, and get some water. This is a very self service place. That's fine. There was only one other couple in the restaurant that had gotten there before us so they were not busy. About 15 minutes, went by and we wondered if we were ever going to get our Caesar salad. A few minutes later, our food was served to us, including a small Caesar salad that was not split. We quickly mentioned with surprised that oh the salad comes out with the food? Our server smiled and said: enjoy. We eat out quite often and we can rarely think of any time that a salad came out with the meal. It's designed to keep you happy and give you something refreshing to eat while they're back in the kitchen cooking your meal. We figured when they came out to check with us, we would mention that it was too late and could they remove it from our bill. However, the entire time we ate our meal, no one ever came to check on us. The gentleman we ordered from along with a lady chatted the entire time at the counter as we were eating. They only passed by our table after a patron came in looking for something he thought he might've left there earlier. When she came and asked to clear our plates, I asked if that's typical that the salad comes out with the entrées because we no longer want the salad. She said she was sorry that our server didn't ask if we wanted it early or with the meal. Then she took our plates away and left the Caesar salad sitting there. It's really too bad we had such a poor experience as we were planning to come back for breakfast in the morning, based on the reviews. It's funny because on our bill, it's listed as an $11 "starter" Caesar salad. My husband said his brisket was average, a little dry, except when he got a good fatty part. The potatoes and the vegetables were good. My salmon was just slightly overcooked, but very delicious and I really enjoyed the taste of my meal. For us, customer service is as much a part of the experience as the food. Judging by the reviews, this hopefully is a one off.

We love the mining decor inside the place as you walk down the stairs into the Cafe. We both ordered the Yankee girl breakfast, one with bacon and one with sausage and both with pancakes. Our food came out nice and hot in about 15 minutes. The sausage doesn't look like much but it's quite delicious and we actually preferred it over the bacon. The pancakes were good (a little dry) and we would've loved to have real maple syrup instead of pancake syrup. The eggs were nicely cooked and we loved the country potatoes. The coffee was very nice, a medium roast that's a little on the dark side. We would get it again though they do have options for latte and mocha. Everyone was very nice, especially Samantha, our server, and we would come back here again

We are so glad we came across this gem of a restaurant on a previous trip to Ouray…read more Staying nearby this time we decided to stop in again. To us, this place represents exactly what we love about Ouray: unassuming, welcoming and exceeding expectations. It's a place where you can sit inside or outside and sip a martini from a full bar. (Although we fell for the smokey Old Fashioned). A piano and saxophone combo played jazz. Conversations flowed on all sides at big tables. Located on the cozy grounds of the Ouray Riverside Resort complex, the Smokehouse recently added an enclosed patio with roll-up garage doors to give diners the indoor-outdoor feel. The rib platter and sides were terrific. The meat had a nice peppery bark and came easily off the bone. The Caesar salad and Mac and Cheese sides also were thoughtfully prepared. Desert was a rich Creme Brûlée cheesecake. Travis and his fellow hard-working servers were helpful and friendly. We can't recommend this place enough.
