Dined here for lunch twice recently and thoroughly enjoyed both times. Their beers are excellent and the pizzas, baked in their woodfire oven (check it out off the bar, is some of the best thin crust pizza I've had in a long time. Pizza is great and blue ridge salad is always a must have. My favorite pizza is Fire on the Mountain but the servers will help make the pizzas however you want it in case you want a substitution. Their beers are all pretty good as well. The service can be slow but the food is worth it. There are some ups and down with the amount of ingredients that come on the pizza but definitely a good place to grab some pizza. There are also a few TVs up at the bar in case you want to check out a game. read more

Great food and great prices! I had the very best pulled pork I have ever eaten in my life! And that includes some great places I've been to in Nashville! I was the designated driver so I didn't try any brews, but my friends all liked theirs. They also loved their flatbread pizzas. The prices are very reasonable, too! My sandwich and an iced tea cost less than $12. Only disappointment was the chips with my sandwich were a bag of potato chips and I was looking forward to some house made chips. Flatbreads were great, beer was great. They have a great ambiance, we sat outside at dusk on a lovely afternoon. Our server was rather inattentive, so that detracted from the experience. All things considered, we would still give it another try and would recommend it to friends. read more

My rating is ONLY in reference to the lack of gluten free dining options. There was nothing on the menu that was gluten free. They offer pizzas and sandwiches - why not offer gluten free pizza crust or serve sandwiches with gluten free bread? The hostess and our server were both friendly, but knew truly nothing about gluten free dining. With all that said, the rest of my party appeared to enjoy the meal, but it's unfortunate that I had to leave hungry. read more

Excellent food in a fun atmosphere. I strongly suggest geting the sample rflight of beer before committing to a pint. Almost Heaven Ale was our choice and it was yummy. Ordered the Cuban Flatbread. sorry, this place was a big disappointment. I should have turned around when I saw a customer with their dog who was sitting on a chair and eating food off the table. I tried Mountain States beers and again I sorry but they are terrible. I decided to order another beer they have on tap, Ragging Bitch IPA. The bartender didn't tell me that they cost $7.00 a pint. Come on guys, this isn't New York City. I can get the same pint in Hagerstown for $3.00. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad. Very disappointed, chicken was ice cold and the dressing was watered down. Won't go back. read more

My family and I came down to Deep Creek, MD for a week long vacation. We are only 3 days into the vacation and we have been here twice. The atmosphere is incredible (cozy, energetic, fire smell, fire light, wood). The food and beer are good as well! One of my favorite places during our long weekend stay! Casual fun atmosphere! I had the salad with the raspberry vinaigrette and the cheese sticks. The dressing was like a raspberry smoothie - delicious. Husband had pulled pork and liked the addition of the jalapeño's. The other couple had a flatbread pizza. Very good. I had the hillbilly punch which was very tasty. The others tried each of their beers and really enjoyed them. The prices were probably about $$ but the food and scenery were worth every penny. We sat outside and it was a perfect evening. Came inside and had a beer or two at the bar. Has a rustic log cabin type feel inside. Our waitress was wonderful and offered suggestions for dinner. Employees were very nice and attentive especially for how busy they were. Several customers were complaining about the A/C being broke but even with that it wasn't overly hot inside. My mom permanently relocated to Grantsville, MD and I was in town for Thanksgiving weekend. She had heard about MSBC and asked if I'd like to check it out on Saturday evening. It's easy to lounge around and do nothing all weekend, but I am glad we made it! For 3 of us, we ordered the Fire on the Mountain 20 inch flatbread. It was excellent. I am not usually one for banana peppers but it was the perfect offset to the spicy pepperoni and sausage. We ate the entire thing relatively quickly! I had the Almost Heaven Amber and a Cold Trail Blonde or 2, 5 stars! My mom also had a sour and enjoyed it, at the bartender's recommendation. Friendly staff greeted us and we were able to sit at the bar. The seats were a bit awkward and low surrounding the high tops, but the bar was perfect. Pizza prices were a little high, but the beer was inexpensive and wonderful. I hope it becomes a must-do on my trips out west! read more

We had an amazing meal here! There were enough vegetarian options on the menu to offer choices. The pizza (mushroom and cheese) was hot and crisp, and the small was enough to fill up two people. The ice cream sundae bar was inexpensive and tasty! We ordered the s'mores sundae. read more

We went here to try the local beer, but had to order food on account of it being Sunday. So, I had a very delicious large burrito, it was quite messy though. The pizza my husband got looked good too. The prices seemed fair. We ordered the Sampler in order to taste all the beers. I was not impressed, so that is why I didn't give 5 stars. Their service is Great (most other places @ deep creek...suks, whether its a bar or dining), the flatbread is pretty darn good & the hummus is the bomb 2. Great atmosphere as well...id give it a Full star rating, but they cld use a cpl more "in-house" brews & the alcohol content is a little on the lighter side (as far as Craft goes...but u cant Always have it all). No air conditioning, and a "rustic" setting that includes (if you're unlucky, as we were), sawhorses with padding stapled to them as chairs. We had to ask to be reseated. The pizza (it's not "flatbread," whatever the menu says), is bland, tasteless, and massively overpriced. The beer is good, but you can get it in stores now in the area, so just buy it there. Oh, they advertised "trivia night" all over the place, and then when you walk in they tell you it's not in-season. Then take down the damn ads! Avoid. read more

We sat there while tables around us were seated, had drinks ordered and brought out and nobody acknowledged us. Have a house in deep creek and we go to the brewery each time we are here. We have been going there since they opened. Atmosphere is good but they need to have some bottled beer for us people that don't like their home brewed beer. And some bands. Pizza used to be great but the ingredients changed and the quality seems to have went down. We wull continue to go to the brewery since there are not many choices in deep creek. Could be a great place. Get some bottled beer, your old ingredients for pizza, you barbecue chicken flatbread back and some music. read more

Second visit. The first was years ago and I had a positive memory of it so we decided to go last night. We arrived and were told it would be an hour and twenty mins. There were many open tables so we couldn't figure out why there was such a wait. We figured everywhere would be busy in the area so we decided to stay. There's room to hang out behind the building with a nice view to enjoy beers while waiting for a table. Unfortunately it REEKS back there like sewage. It was disgusting. I noticed pipes on the side of the hill where I assume the smell came from. I was uncomfortable breathing it in and watching kids play in the area. I held my nose and had to walk back to the front of the building to avoid i. We ended up being seated after 45 mins out on the back patio. You could smell the sewer smell even there but not as strong. Our food took about an hour to arrive. All in all we were there almost 3 hours. It wasn't worth it. Inside there are signs posted warning customers that wait times would be long due to to-go orders. Why are you taking to-go orders when you have paying customers at your door waiting to eat who theoretically will spend more money by purchasing alcohol than someone who just wants to swing by and grab a pizza to go? Why not limit to-go orders to only lunch and or slow days? If you have a ton of time to kill and don't mind eating with the aroma of raw sewage in the air, enjoy Mountain State! read more

We visit DCL a few times a year and this is always our first stop. The hummus appetizer and the Fire on the Mountain Flatbread are fantastic. Wash it down with a Cold Trail Ale...you won't be disappointed. read more
