Came here for breakfast and tried several of their platters. Enjoyed the French toast the most and the country potatoes. Pancakes were a bit in the rubbery side for me but the Belgian waffle was delicious. I'm a huge fan of eggs Benedict but the classic Benedict here was a bit lacking which may have been due to the super thick slice of ham and sauce. Service was friendly and thorough and place was warm and clean. read more

My man and I arrived in Oakhurst starving and ready for lunch! We had been in the car for about three hours, so we wanted to eat before we checked in at our hotel. My first choice was a poke food truck, however, it wasn't where it was listed on Yelp. Assuming it was closed for Christmas vacation, we came to this cafe instead. It was highly rated, so it would be good enough for a nice meal. Since we both wanted something light, we each had a salad. I had the Apple Pecan Chicken and he opted for the Salmon. The portions were huge! My plate was piled high with grilled chicken pieces, which I thought was a little too much. Even though the chicken was cooked well, I couldn't eat it all. I enjoyed the sweetness of the apple and the crunchiness of the pecans. There was a piece of bread on the side, but I didn't get to finish that either. I didn't bother trying my man's salad, but he was pleased. We were both highly satisfied with our meals. Our server was friendly and efficient. It was our first time visiting Oakhurst, and after a long morning exploring Mariposa Grove, we decided to grab a bite in town. This place did not disappoint--it was perfect for our family! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was top-notch. As for the food--everything we ordered was fresh and absolutely delicious! The kids loved their chicken nuggets and pizza, and the curly fries were a hit. I had the blackened chicken pasta , and my daughter tried the shrimp Alfredo pasta--both were incredible! We were already talking about coming back for more. My husband ordered the chili verde omelette, and it was excellent. The waiter mentioned that their food is rated #1 in town, and we totally agree. Wo-wee! The prices are right, portions are plenty, and delicious. The hospitality is great. Humble small town vibe. Our server, Valentine, was real welcoming. Came here on a busy Sunday morning with 4 of us. Was sat pretty quickly by the manager since they seemed short staffed. We stopped at the Oakhurst restaurant that was recommended Fidel brought a free green chile sauce and chips out to our surprise! We ate well facing the long drive home. Since it was Friday, they had clam chowder. Bot! It was delicious. I had French toast. My grandsons had garden omelets and pasta with Chicken. My DIL had hot Turkey sandwich. My husband had the chili verde omelet and pancakes and he said the chili verde sauce had no heat and was bland. He said the meat was tender but the pancakes were grainy. I had the chili colorado omelet and lacked flavor. My food came out cold. Yuck!I had to put Tabasco all over it just to get it down. The best part of my meal was the side of fruit. The patio was nice and we enjoyed ambiance but the service was poor and they never came to our table to refill our waters. We will probably never eat here again. :( read more

I had the breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns and a homemade fresh biscuit. Everything was delicious, especially the hash browns! The biscuit was huge. Great local place for a nice meal. The server was very friendly and attentive. There is plenty of parking in the small shopping area. Our food was delicious and service was fast. The only negative I have about the menu is that there was not a vegetarian option so I was limited in what I could order. However our meal was delicious and portions plentiful. Although it's a small space you don't feel crowded. Definitely check it out. read more

Came here while on Vacation to Yosemite, this place was delicious. The home made menudo was so flavorful and had a nice spicy kick to it that made it taste authentic. The chicken fried steak was good and the portions were on part with the price point. The service was exceptional, we were a party of 20 and only waited for 10 minutes! Super fast friendly staff will definitely be back when we travel this way. Sensory level was a 6 and good outdoor eating area available. read more

My group stopped by this cafe for brunch on our way home from Yosemite National Park on 11/11/24. The food was great, but the service was a bit slow (which is why I had to knock off one star). I ordered the Denver Omelette with Hash Browns and sourdough toast. The portion size was just right and the taste was very fresh. My party members had similar positive comments regarding the dishes they ordered. I would definitely give this place another visit the next time we visit Yosemite NP. read more

I had chicken avocado bacon sandwich. The chicken had to be so cheap as it was like rubber! My husband had a burger and he said it was very overcooked and seemed to have been microwaved. If you're ever near the mountain town of Oakhurst, CA, you have to stop in at the Mountain Oaks Cafe. Now this has only been my 2nd time here but I tell you the food is outstanding, the wait staff courteous and attentive, and the meals are reasonably priced. Tonight's dinner was the Steak Bites for starters and this appetizer is a meal unto itself. Juicy tender steak, garlic triangles and the most out of this world cheesy bbq sauce that you have to try to believe. Next came the Albondigas soup which was out of this world good. I would put this against ANY Albondigas and it would win hands down. Entree was Tri-Tip, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies and more of the garlic bread (yummy). Tri-tip was juicy, tender, with a nice smoke ring and bark. Mashed potatoes and brown gravy were delicious. The seasonal veggies had the right amount of seasoning and butter, of course everything goes better with butter. The garlic bread / toast was the same from the steak bites and just as delicious. There was no room left for desert and that's twice now. I'm going to have to go back and just get desert. I wish I took a pic of the soup but it was gone before I even thought about it. I did get pics of the appetizer and entree. Like I said, this is a must stop in Oakhurst. Try it and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. read more

The food was delicious! I highly recommend the banana bread pudding French toast to anyone with a sweet tooth, but the pancakes were my favorite, not crazy sweet but right on the money with flavor. Came here twice, and ordered the tri tip omelette, a lot better than the pork chorizo omelette. Service was impeccable, different servers coming to check on us and helping us out, definitely a team effort from a group of hardworking individuals. We sat outside and the view was wonderful with breakfast. The sun hitting you in some cold weather to start off the day is top tier. This is a nice cafe to stop and grab brunch if you are visiting Oakhurst. The service was fast and friendly. The prices were great and very large portions. Inside they had advertisements for an upcoming car show and lots of cool pictutes. There's a lovely outdoor patio to sit on as well. It was also easy to access and had ample parking. read more

I've been here a few times now since I got here in May. I had the special of the day the first time. It was green enchiladas. No complaints at all, generous portions, fast service and very friendly staff. Why I came back the next week was because I saw the fish and chips while I was there the first time. I took over half of it home! A huge plate of fish and chips. It was very good and came with soup or salad and steamed veggies. You can't beat the price for the quality and quantity!
