Saturday after a long day at baseball tournaments I decided to call in for a pizza. I placed my order at 6:13pm and told it would be about a hour. 7:38 I called to see what was going on since I hadn't received pizza yet. They said driver just arrived back and would be leaving with our order. Well 8:10 rolls around still no pizza. At this point I decided to go down. I heard every excuse, driver lost keys, under staffed and busy, computer messed up, etc. While I was there my pizza was delivered. Slightly over 2 hours when I was told a hour. To say I was frustrated was an understatement. Wasn't offered any compensation for the delay, really not even an apology. I haven't been to this place in years because the head manager there is awful. At this point, I won't return. read more

They said the pizza will be done in 45 minutes and an hour later I'm still waiting. The employees are in the back arguing about mozzarella sticks that apparently have been gone since yesterday. The person who I assume is the manager (blonde hair in a pony tail) should probably try managing the restaurant instead of making pizzas and arguing with the rest of the staff about what the customers need. The cashier ignored me for about five minutes while she just stood by the pizza oven waiting for the pizzas to come out. Last time I was here it was the same experience. Last Thursday we ordered 3 pizzas and the young lady said that it would be 30 minutes because she was a worker short. It was no problem because she was working her tail off and the place was really busy. The pizza was great and my son said the spicy Himalayan was really great. The place was really clean. Went for the buffet lunch, my wife asked if they could make a vegetarian pizza and a combination one. Not only was it not a problem but it was done quick and delicious. Anyone giving this place five stars has low standards or is straight-up delusional. This place started out pretty good years ago, but descended into mediocrity in the past few years, and has been going downhill and picking up speed. Tip #1: Order for pickup or directly at the counter. Their delivery drivers don't know the neighborhoods and are slower than if you picked up your pizza on foot. Your food is guaranteed to be cold, wrong, or never arrive if you order delivery. Tip #2: Don't order on a day ending in "y", but especially on weekends. I've been known to, on the occasions I don't just get sick of the wait and buy a take and bake down the street, spend up to a leisurely half hour on hold waiting to place an order. They don't care, and often forget that there are customers on the line when they hang up. You will take at least two tries to get through to place an order. Tip #3: Eat lunch at the on-site buffet to toughen up your immune system. Nothing beats sitting down to barely wiped down tables and eating a pizza that has been sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long, served by employees who don't use gloves and who don't wash hands. Between that, the soda dispenser that hasn't been cleaned since the Bush administration, and the vintage veggies of the open salad bar, you're sure to expose your system to a veritable smorgasbord of germs to get yourself in fighting shape for the next big crisis. I loved this place as a kid, but I don't know what happened to make it into a rundown, overpriced shell of a formerly decent member of the chain. Well I would loved to review MM in riverbank for their pizza however I wasn't able to partake for they ran out of cheese!!!! I can't even believe that. Never in my 42 years of life have I heard of a pizza place running out of cheese. I called at 7pm to order a pizza. My kids were starving and I was at a big event today so I didn't feel like cooking. They told me to call back at 8pm because they ran out of cheese. So I called back at 8 and they told me they were still out of cheese to call back at 9pm. Well that is not ok . I have 3 young children that have school tomorrow and 1 was already passed out from waiting. My older daughter kept asking when food would be here . So I had to call & order in Modesto. They were busy and it would be a half an hour 45 minutes till my pizza was ready. So I ordered and went over there. I can't believe this. What was supposed to be an easy night completely turned into a nightmare. Now I have exhausted kids who won't eat until after 10pm. And I waisted all kinds of time waiting for riverbank to get cheese. Then I had to drive to Modesto and wait for dinner. Such a horrible experience. Not sure if I will be back. The place was SLAMMED but the entire staff was hustling and working like a well oiled machine. I told Danica she was running an amazing crew with great grace and efficiency. I could tell she was in charge as she helped customers, gave gentle guidance to staff, and pitched in on all fronts. When I told her I was impressed she immediately thanked me and said it was a team effort, and her co-manager that day was Isaac. I have ordered here many times. However, my last two times have been a disaster, especially this last time. I ordered online for delivery. I was given a delivery time of 40 minutes. It didn't show up, so I waited another 30 minutes before calling because the last time I ordered, my pizza arrived late. I was put on hold for 10 minutes. Finally, I hung up and called back. This time I just got a busy signal. Tried calling for 10 more minutes and still couldn't get through to someone. I got in my car and drove down there (kinda defeats the purpose of delivery) to see what happened to my pizza. By this time it's almost 2 hours since my pizza was supposed to arrive. Several employees were standing around in the back, but no one said anything to me until I finally asked if someone could check on my delivery. After a few minutes, I was given several excuses and informed they were just STARTING my order. I refused to wait another 30 minutes. I did get a refund and went somewhere else. I won't be ordering here again. There are plenty of pizza places to choose from and customer service here is just not worth it. read more

As I waited for my order I noticed an employee on their break behind the counter, they had their face mask down and were touching their face. Upon returning to their work station, they put their mask back on, but failed to wash their hands or at the least sanitize. They went on to touch the pizza spatula and resume work. On a Saturday around noon I ordered 2 pizzas through the app. It gave me an estimated time of delivery to be about 60-70 mins. Ok no big deal. After 90 mins I called the location to make sure they received my order. They said yes they received it and it was the next to Lea and it shouldn't be more than 20 mins. 30 More minutes go by nothing. I called to just cancel the whole thing because I was going to just find something else. Then ensured me they would refund my money but still deliver, I agreed. Finally after 2 1/2 hours my two pizzas showed up. My order was never refunded and what was the point calling back a third time!!? I know they might be short staffed but be honest. This should actually be 0 stars because ALL of the BBQ wings were burnt on one side of the wings! And the worst part of ALL is that they tried to cover it by turning the burnt side of the chicken down! Also, the "manager" was really rude over the phone stating that she had done them herself and were not burnt (clearly the picture shows otherwise) and they didn't want to give us new freshly cooked wings, because they wanted the burnt ones back. "I'm sorry, the manager said she's busy." WRONG ANSWER! Ordered 2 pies and a Large Salad a couple days ago for pickup, left pissed off and shocked. Arrived on time and was handed a styrofoam box for the salad while they finished my order. No problem, wasn't in a hurry anyway. Two tables were occupied, pretty quiet. The place looked reasonably clean. Didn't give it the usual inspection since I was takeout. I tossed in the bagged iceberg mix you can get anywhere for a couple bucks and started perusing the toppings. The bar had several empty spaces despite the fact that it was very small to begin with. Pulled out a spoon of Kidney Beans and noticed some milky substance in between the beans. Kidney Beans should be shiny, dark, and plump. I knew what it was right away, still I picked it up and gave it a sniff. Yep, rotten. All beans do this when they go bad. It's then that I look at the rest of the bar and am horrified. Carrots, I think they are carrots as they are somewhat orange, are as dried out as I have ever seen in my life. Not to mention cut into long quarters like you would find in a mixed veggie try, not for a salad. A bin of cherry tomatoes that are half shriveled. Half rotten lemons. Button mushrooms that have seen better days. Red Bell peppers that are, again, half shriveled and begging to be put out of their misery. I wait for the cashier to come back around and ask for the manager. Cashier goes in back and returns to inform me that, "I'm sorry, the manager said she's busy." Brain nearly exploding, I select the best response I can muster and ask ask again, a bit more emphatically, if I she could get the manager for me. I'm trying not to take it out on the cashier although everyone in that shop is partly responsible for the health hazard lurking beneath the sneeze guard. While I wait The manager approaches looking a little unsure of the situation. By that point I had already pulled out the offending bins from the bar and set them on the counter. Firstly I asked her how often they change out their bins. She immediately replied that they were changed daily. Now to me that means they put out rotten food every day or she's lying to a customer that she tried to avoid in the first place. I repeated her answer in disbelief and she restated daily. She asked me what the problem was and I showed her each bin and explained the Kidney Bean situation as there was no way she was going to notice, or care for that matter. I was really pissed by this point and explained to her (again, this is the store manager) that she needed to pay attention to what she was putting out for customers. I turned to the cashier and said that I will take a refund on that salad. The manager offered me a disingenuous apology said she'd take care of it and took the bins away. I asked her what her name was, but she didn't hear me (or was hoping I'd just go away) and kept walking. I asked again, much louder this time and she told me her name was Emily. Against my better judgement, and the fact that I didn't want to piss off my wife coming home pizzaless (yeah I know it's not a word), I took the pies and turned. A table of customers took interest in my interaction and I told them, the salad bar was "no bueno". They smiled and I left pissed off at a manager who was just collecting a paycheck. Shame on you Emily. You may not like your job, but you got one so don't punish your customers. If you really don't like it, better yourself and you'll get a better job. There's something going on in the Central Valley with customer service in the food service industry specifically and all I can say is, it really is appalling. I'm sending a copy of this review to Mtn. Mike's Headquarters as this is unacceptable. I grew up (9yrs old and on) in the Bay Area. Back in the 80's, Mountain Mike's WAS The Gold Standard. They had the best pizza hands down and were always busy (at least at my Fremont, Ca location). Now they are just another Fast Food place with overpriced product. Sad. Pizza is too expensive for how unhealthy it is and there are way too many crappy shops nowadays so it's hard to find a really good pie for a decent price. I told her repeatedly it says equal or lesser toppings. She kept telling me no. So I went ahead and ordered it with pepperoni but called other mountain mikes and they said no it's not a 1 topping it's equal value. I will not order from them again.
