I highly recommend Mountain Flame propane! I had them install a hard gas line to a fire pit and barbecue grill. They did a VERY clean professional job and everything looks and works beautifully. We just bought a house in Friant, and they turned off the tank and locked us out on the same day we moved in and before we could even call to get service transferred over the weekend. We spent hours trying to figure out how to set up the account and get the tank turned on. They keep saying that they can't find the address and that they will call us back. They never do. Now we have this tank that's been locked and no way to get it turned on or removed. We are stuck with no propane. read more

I switched to a different company because of deteriorating customer service and prices that can be beat by just about everyone else. It has know been about one month and four phone calls to have them pick up their tank. I agree with a previous post about terrible service since they sold out. read more

Mountain Flame used to have excellent customer service, but they were bought out by a big corporation and that is no longer the case. When you call you're not dealing locally so good luck!! They are extremely unprofessional and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I would strongly recommend selecting another propane company. read more

On our tank we have a monitor that the Mountain Flame staff is supposed to monitor and fill the tank as needed. We ran out Saturday night one of the coldest this year. Monday morning we called. The receptionist checked and said yes your right your out. After some back and forth talk they finally called and said the truck will be here between 2 and 430. Hello, this house has been ice since Saturday. We have not showered I have not shaved. We gave not washed dishes nor clothes. I think if they were sorry about this they would have said we will be right out. We are pushing 80. Do you think any employee of Mountain Flame would allow their elderly parents to go through that. Big changes since our local owners sold to a big company. read more

We have been customers for years and never had a problem until now. Long story short, my tank has gone dry three times since December!! How??? That's not possible. Now, I haven't had propane in 5 days and the won't return my calls. I refuse to pay for a leak that they caused or didn't fix. This is a major safety issue!! read more

I am a former customer and recently had the Mountain Flame propane tank removed from my property. I had requested a call in advance so that I could move our SUV out of the way. I did not receive a call or notice at all. The driver took it upon himself to leave the driveway and drove up the side of our hill leaving tire marks where there shouldn't be tire marks. At some point the wheels spun leaving an ugly gouge on the side of the hill. In the fall, the propane delivery truck flattened the Ponderosa Telephone pedestal at the front of the driveway. Ponderosa Telephone will probably contact them about that, if they haven't already. There was also a giant tree branch (about 30% of the shade) that a driver took out, it was off to the side and in no way impeded the driver, nor was it difficult to avoid. There have been several issues over the years, making the switch to a company that charges a minimum of 25% less for propane. I miss the original owners! read more

Recently got an automatic (and unneeded) fill up only 6 months after our last fill up. This despite the fact that we still had a tank that was 40% full and historically have only needed to fill up every 12 months. True I was on KEEP FULL plan, but we were on this plan last year and didn't have them come out at 40% to top us off. I guess the "KEEP FULL" plan is in reference to the status of their pockets forcing us to pay premium to top off when we don't actually need any fuel. read more

After working out a payment plan with an employee in the billing department, they stopped emailing me when I went to actually set up the payment. Months went by, and instead of contacting me again they referred the account to a collections agency. When I contacted the business to make payment, I requested that the late charges be removed considering I attempted to pay and was unable to through no fault of my own. They refused to remove the late charges. They have lost a customer for life. Do not go here. read more

I suggest you only use Mountain Flame for propane deliveries. I purchased 2 fireplaces and the problems have been frustrating. Combined with a 2 week service lead time this company is not resourced or trained for distribution sales. read more

Now before you think I had one great save from them, let me say I lived in Shaver Lake for a decade. They do it all in all kinds of unforgiving weather conditions-fill tanks with the speed of light, flush water heaters, check stoves- Ryan discovered that our tankless water heater was installed upside down #drunkplumber. This company does good work for the Prather / Auberry area. Deliveries are timely and usually fairly priced, avoid the high cost winter fillups. Employees are friendly and helpful. I've even had a few mechanical maintainance issues crop up over weekends or holidays that have been handled same day. read more
