The Prescription is the deliverable patients get to do the Eye Exam and that is what we paid for. We called back and they said that is how they do Eye Exam here. They have to charge us for the fitting, before writing a prescription, whereas it is unnecessary as we did Eye Exams every year and nobody is doing this! Both me and wife have got our content lens for years, and we told the Doctor our current contact lens size etc. Excessive billing is throughout the healthcare system and we are disappointed this provider charges for services not only unnecessary but also they did not perform it. We will write a review also in VSP to remind of people - look for another provider! Plus - we tried to look up the Doctor's name in American Academy of Ophthalmologists, and could not even find the name there! PS: - just saw the horrible responses from the Provider on Jan 23 below! I called them several times as nobody answered so I left VM, and they called back with VM but does not answer specially about the item charged. Now they are calling me as harassing. I just spoke to this owner this morning in the phone! As customer, I had no time or reason to harass anyone but I was trying to figure out why I paid $175 (with VSP insurance) for Eye Exam that should get me the Prescription but then they charge my $90 for getting me the prescription??? I went to Dr. Rubinfeld earlier this year to get a basic exam and talk to him about some general concerns I had based family history, not anything I suffered from myself. After doing the basic exams, I noticed Dr. Rubinfeld conducted other exams I don't normally associate with an annual eye exam, testing spacial awareness, tear production in the eyelid, among others. I had no issue with this and chocked it up to him being thorough. Dr. Rubinfeld felt like it was necessary to start me on an eye treatment to get rid of "eyelash mites" and remoisten my eyes, which he said were exceptionally dry. I asked him if this was necessary seeing as I have no issues at all with my eyes. He said yes because things can get worse. I went into the office about 8 times for warm / cool light and steam treatment, and I observed no difference. I asked the receptionists and the eye assistants how long I would need to do the treatments since I didn't feel like they were necessary for me. They said the treatments were normally 2 MONTHS! Once they told me this, I decided to stop going. Today however, I LOGGED INTO MY INSURANCE AND SAW THERE ARE CLAIMS TOTALING ALMOST $20,000 FROM DR. RUBINFELD'S OFFICE! This was from all of the eye treatments he was giving me. Granted, I don't have to pay for this, but I do believe they tried to suck as much as they could from my insurance in as short of a time as possible. This is absolutely WRONG. And this is the main reason why I have to give them a 1 star rating. Again, I do appreciate the fact that the staff were kind and courteous to me, I don't appreciate being taken advantage of because of my ignorance in optometry.

My cousin's exam lasted only about four minutes, and mine was similarly brief. Shortly after the visit, we both developed pink eye, which raised serious concerns about the care and hygiene during the appointment. During multiple follow-up visits, the approach felt repetitive and dismissive. Dr. Salzman primarily prescribed antibiotic eye drops at nearly every visit, even after my pink eye had already cleared. There was little explanation provided, and no meaningful discussion of what might be causing the ongoing issues. At one visit, she noticed an eyelash in my eye and again defaulted to prescribing more drops. At my last visit on Tuesday, I still had an issue with my left eye and was once again given antibiotic drops without a thorough evaluation or clear explanation. Overall, the appointments felt rushed and overly focused on prescribing medication, rather than carefully examining the issue or addressing concerns. I did not feel listened to or properly evaluated, and I left feeling frustrated rather than reassured. I expected a much more careful and patient-centered experience, especially for what began as a routine eye exam.

My husband had an appointment for his eye exam but it snowed overnight and he was not able to get out on time. Despite not having appointments for myself or my son, they still accommodated us and after waiting a short while, we were able to see Dr. Sujoy. She checked all of our eyes and while hubby was getting his exam, my son and I picked out our frames. My son went with a pair of Tom Ford frames that look great on him. Hubby picked out a nice pair of Ray Bans that fit him perfectly. Our transaction was effortless. Once we had our eye exams and picked out our frames, it took another ten minutes and we were done. They called when our frames were ready and picking them up despite not having my receipt was an easy process as well. Most vision places to which I've gone will sell you the frame in the case and here at Vision World, I just love the fact that you're actually getting a new pair. It's so refreshing to feel like you're actually being helped and not being pushed to buy. They were patient with us and explained everything and I'm happy to have found the place where my family and I will get all of our eye care needs from now on.
