Never had an issue before until today. I called the office three separate times to confirm that I could pick up my glasses at 6:45 p.m., and each time I was told that would be fine. I wanted to be considerate since I work far and wouldn't be out until 6 pm and also to make sure I wouldn't have to do a 1 hour commute both ways twice without my glasses. When I arrived on time at 6:40 (which I called 3x to confirm), no one was at the door, and I had to call again to be let in. Once someone came out, I was told multiple times that I was "lucky" to be getting my glasses--even though I had clearly confirmed the pickup time ahead of time. That's so frustrating and patronizing, especially since I went out of my way to plan. I appreciate the help and that I did get my glasses, but I hope in the future, communication is more consistent and respectful for other patients. read more

Went to pick up my glasses on a Sunday. Was seen promptly but the staff was unnecessarily rude. The woman working that day gruffly asked me why I was there. Then she became defensive when she asked if the pair of glasses she held in her hand were mine and I responded, No, actually mine were blue/black. (The ones she held in her hand were red.) I tried them on anyway and was reading different things (the original prescription they gave me was way off - causing dizziness and headaches - so I wanted to make sure these were ok) when again she gave me attitude asking if I was going to take them or not. I didn't feel like waiting another week or two to end up with another pair of incorrect color frames or risking my prescription being wrong again or having to deal with her again so I just took them but will be looking for another eye care center. While I gathered my things to leave I had the pleasure of overhearing her colleague say she didn't like tending to children and has no patience for that. The woman who had been assisting me then went on a rant about "training" children to behave. This place also services children. I wouldn't want them helping mine. My previous appointment to correct the prescription was just as bad if not worse. I got bounced around for an hour and a half from reception, to the back to get re-tested where I did not get tested at all but instead was sent to the staff to discuss my glasses who said they couldn't help me and sent me back to reception. I waited at reception and people who arrived after me were getting seen and leaving. I finally asked what was going on and no one could tell me where I was supposed to go or who I was supposed to see. Lack of communication with patients and among the depts, and no respect for people's time. read more

The waiting times are horrible, appt with Dr was rushed. Nothing was explained or discussed. Then they rush you over to a person to place order. Every other eye doctor I've been to gave me a contacts as well as eyeglasses Rx. Here they were charging me extra for the eyeglasses Rx. Absolutely ridiculous! Scheduled a 9am appointment over a month ago. Arrived timely, to find that they book an army of people for the same time slot. We are still in COVID times, it is dangerously irresponsible to have a waiting room packed to the brim full of patients waiting over an hour to see a doctor. I have a newborn baby at home and firstly didn't plan on being here for 3 hours to see a doctor and secondly felt extremely uncomfortable sitting elbow to elbow next to other patients. They don't even require that patients wear a mask. The women next to me is coughing her lungs out, I had to move. This is shameful. I'm so grateful that my sister referred me to Bronx Eye Care. I needed to see an optometrist because I had a eye condition that was not getting better. It was an emergency. It was there that I met Dr. Patel. From the moment I walked in I was greeted warmly and respectfully. Next step was the checking of my eyes. Dr. Patel asked me how long my eye condition existed and immediately had plans for next steps. I briefly returned to my doctor and still no change. Dr. Patel had me to have my primary doctor do bloodwork which I took the specialist that he recommended. After over 2 months of pain and no change; Dr. Patel not only listened to my concerns, had me have bloodwork and sent me to a specialist who has addressed my condition and I am on the road to recovery. ThankU so much, Dr. Patel. He is now my regular doctor. I'm so glad that I had this opportunity to speak well of Dr. Patel. He's an optometrist that "U" can trust. read more

I was told by an optometrist that it looked like I had glaucoma, I went home scared to death and full of anxiety. Being that back in 2001 I had lost vision in my right eye due to a detached retina so it was awfully scary to hear that. I decided to come in to Bronx Eye Associates and was immediately greeted at front desk. Staff are very patient friendly and really help out. They were even able to accommodate me with Dr. Orloff the same day. He listened to my worries and concerns, and decided to some eye exams. He was very thorough and thankfully I had no glaucoma. This Doctor put me at ease. He has awesome bedside manners, he is thorough and very patient and listens to your concerns. He explains everything in way you can understand it. All of the equipment is modern and new. And they can handle any eye issue. It aint just eye glasses folks! The office is clean, organized and spacious. The staff is warm and caring. When it was time to pick out glasses for my son, they patiently helped him look at every single frame that interested him. They gave honest opinions, had great senses of humor, and made us feel comfortable. I never once felt rushed by them or got the impression that they were getting frustrated - even though I was getting a little frustrated. We actually shut the place down and they still stayed behind after hours while we continued to go through their frames. And they have a huge selection of many styles, designers, and prices. When here for my daughters glasses the staff is excellent, the vision test was very thorough. The only reason why I took away one stars is because they said that both glasses would be ready in 10 days the first one was ready with in the 10 days but the second one I had to wait almost 3 weeks, school had already started. When asked why it took so long, I was unable to get a clear answer. Although they were very nice I just thought it was strange that I couldn't get a straight answer. In any event I would still recommend this place. It's clean, Very professional, and the doctors really know what they're doing. read more

The doctor was great. However, the glasses selection was lackluster and they definitely push expensive lenses and didn't offer non-designer lenses until I said I wouldn't purchase glasses. And then a glasses professional said I had a "droopy" eye. Mind you she wasn't an eye doctor or a professional I was working with. Overall they were very helpful with my insurance, the doctor was mice, front desk was nice but I didn't like their glasses selection, the pushing of over expensive lenses and the rude/inconsiderate comment made by a staff member who I wasn't working with. I am here with my mom and she had appointment at 3:45 and right now it's 7:09 And everytime I talked to the receptionist she said two more patient or three and she said the specialist was late but that' doesn't mean we will have to wait 4 hours to be seen by the doctor. They had us sit outside cus there's no space by the receptionist and they call from their sit and expect people that's sitting outside to hear them. I was referred by a coworker 3 years ago and now refuse to change clinics cause I LOVE it there. I want to start by saying I was a little leery on going to this optometrist due to the pandemic. Upon arriving it was super easy going and safe, temperatures were taken and there was hand sanitizer everywhere, the seats were spaced out & not too many patients at the same time. The ladies at the front desk and assisting with the exam were super welcoming. I did not have to wait long before I was called to begin the exam. Dr. Korik is GREAT!! The location of getting eyeglasses which is the other side of the clinic I would change, due to a woman named Regina! She was rude and seemed to have an attitude. Very short spoken with her answers and not welcoming at all. Their frame selection for my daughters insurance was limited not an issue. She just wanted frames she liked after all she would be wearing them constantly due to school being remote and face calls happening all the time, typical teenager stuff to look cute and my daughter is trying on frames to see which one she really liked and Regina responds with "you don't have much of a choice so you have to pick one". My daughter finally picked her glasses and we were given the receipt.Then she ran eligibility on my son myself and my sister. Regina shared my sister was ineligible and when I went to ask her why my sister was not eligible Regina put her pointer finger up at me and responded with "because she is ineligible" with no explanation. She also kept going to her coworker Tina for assistance. Who was nice enough to stop doing what she was doing to assist Regina. Regina was behind a glass but when she walked away from her location a couple of times she did not wear a mask. After waiting for so long and being treated unfairly and unprofessionally, I decided I was not going to get any glasses there due to Regina's behavior and I returned my daughters receipt and inquired for all of my families prescriptions. Since I made the choice that we would be taking our business else where. Regina then informed me that no matter where I go it will be the same answer. She ripped up the paper and walked away. She completely missed the point as to why our business was being taken else where. Regina seemed annoyed that we did not get frames but with the attitude she had why would we want to continue business there. After everything was done Tina spoke to us since she noticed we were agitated and pulled us over and shared the reason as to why my sister was ineligible and we thanked Tina so very much for her help she did not have to pick up someone else slack. Tina also apologized for her adult coworker and shared she was new! Definitely not ever is being NEW an excuse to treat patients the way she did. I am an essential worker and manage patients of my own and I definitely do not treat any patient with such behavior. I don't think she would appreciate her family member being treated the way she treated my family and myself. Tina also helped me by sending my exam to the DMV to renew my license. This time I will get my eyeglasses else where, if Tina is there on my next visit and assist during the process I will get frames if not I will completely walk away. Tina has been the one I have dealt with the past 3 years, she is great, she has a positive attitude and has patience. read more

TOTALLY INSULTED, AND 6 MONTHS LATER, STILL IN TOTAL DISBELIEF. JUST TO BE CLEAR, I DO NOT USUALLY POST REVIEWS, BUT I ABSOLUTELY FEEL THAT IT IS NECESSARY. I came to this place, because it was highly recommended by a co-worker, and it happens to be very close to where I live. As soon as I walked in, I provided the front desk with all of my information, and I told them my intention was to use the insurance from my job. I went through all of the eye exam and testing, and then I was informed that my insurance would not cover my visit or exam, because a full year had not passed since my last exam. I apologized, and explained that I did not know, and I was also wondering why the information had not been relayed to me when I checked in. Then, the doctor, who had been so sweet and professional, asked me to sit down in the office, and without informing me or anything, she proceeded to put her fingers in my eyes and remove the trial contacts she had given me, and threw them away! It actually took me a long while before it occurred to me what had actually just transpired. I do not know if it was racism or it was assumed that somehow I was trying to "game" the system, but I never want anyone to experience what I did. I called shortly after to complain....but I never received any formal apology (besides the quick placation when I called) or invitation to return or to ameliorate the tragedy that occurred... STILL IN DISBELIEF AT THE TOTAL LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND RESPECT. And it's a total shame...because I do feel like the level of technology and expertise is somewhat superior to the service I've received in the past in the Bronx area. However, I cannot spend my time or money in a place that made me feel devalued as a customer and as a human being. read more

Let me start by saying that if this review was only about the actual eye doctors office I would have given it 5 stars.. The front desk staff are lovely, friendly, respectful & are very warm. They took great precaution taking temperatures and wearing masks plenty of sanitizer, cleaning the equipment. They greet you very pleasantly and make small talk as they transition you through your appointment taking you from test to test. They were AMAZING! True professionals, now here is the reason why they only got a 1 Stars review. THE EYEGLASS SHOP!! After my family did our test they walk you over to where the frames are so you can choose your pair. The woman who took care of my family who's name is REGINA was the most UNPROFESSIONAL human being I've ever come across. She did a horrible job at explaining why out of the four members of my family only 1 was not eligible to get glasses. Her reason and I kid you not was "because you are ineligible." When asking for the insurance card she snatched it out of my sisters hand, she spoke with an attitude from the very beginning as if us being there on a Friday morning was a problem. She DID NOT WEAR A MASK. She looked very unsure of what she was doing often asking her VERY HELPFUL COWORKER TINA (who we wished had attended to us) all the questions and just reiterated the answers verbatim to us. After dealing with her snail like pace for over 30 minutes we just decided to buy our frames from another place. TINA was the one who sat us down and should us in-detail about our eligibility issue, and apologized on behalf of her ill-mannered coworker. During this pandemic we all need just a little more patience, understanding and positive personalities which she did not, needless to say I WILL NEVER BUY FRAMES FROM THEM!!!! read more

After going to a couple of eye doctors and left with minimum options for weekend appointments I booked an appointment at Bronx Eye Associates. Dr. Patel took his time to check my eyes after having an eye problem for over two months and unsuccessfully treating it with medications prescribed by previous doctors at other locations. He also gave me a coupon which helped reduce my RX copay- saved $$!! I like that they have Saturday hours although it was very busy that day. All the staff was pleasant and helpful. I'm hoping that after his consultation my eye problem resolves- if it does I will update my review to 5 stars read more
