And their quote was like more than 3 fold cheaper! The inspection wasn't free, unlike the dealership, but the total came out to be much cheaper so I didn't mind. I was sitting in the waiting room waiting for them to finish and the front desk guy, (his name is Irish), started talking to me. By the way I'm a woman. He talked and talked and I was being kind listening but hoped the repair would finish soon so I could end the conversation. He was making sure I knew he was conservative for some reason. I suspected it was because I had a Bernie Sanders bumper sticker on my car. He then told me he had a son who was a Federal police agent of some sort, and how he was walking down the street wearing a Trump hat and a man came up and knocked it off his head. He detailed with relish how his son threw the guy to the ground, beat him up, handcuffed him and sent him away to jail for 9 years...just for knocking a hat off his head. What a douche! Both he and his son! I couldn't just get up and leave as they still had my car and were working on it. I had to sit there and try to deal with this jerk nicely until I got my car back. This creep needs to be fired! Do they not know they work in a blue city in a university district no less? Don't ever take your car here. There are many other options in town. Sept 2026 The last of the whine…read more I'm practically a vintage car enthusiast now with my single-owner 231,000 1999 Saturn (people who like these cars do like them). For 2 or 3 years, an ominously increasing/changing bearing noise had been a mysterious, significant worry - wheel bearings were a suspect, but Chuck's 2nd opinion concurred with Firestone's: intermediate driveshaft carrier bearing, a part discontinued long ago. This small obscure part was now worth my entire hitherto reliable car, which I wanted to keep on the road. Two other places had balked at this, but Chuck's guys searched and found a replacement bearing. This was a convenient time for other major stuff: front wheel bearings, rear shocks, CV axle (all original), and of course they found a several smaller but important things I'd been neglecting. The whine is gone, the wheels are quieter, handles much better, and I don't have to find another car yet. A big expensive job, but actually less than I was prepared to spend.
