Very first time I went here was to get a second opinion on a laundry list of "issues" from a repair…read moreshop I used to trust. No 1 Japanese Auto could have also tried to take advantage of a non-gearhead like myself. Instead Tony pointed out a fraction of a fraction of the issues that other place mentioned (10 months later, my car is still running fine). Another time took my car in because my breaks were squeaking/grinding in very specific conditions. Even when I called Tony said "we didn't see you that long ago, but better safe than sorry." After inspecting, he said my breaks don't need replacing yet, but maybe by the time for my next oil change. I figured I'd at least pay for the labor of looking. But when I picked it up -- nope! No charge. Tony is a real one.

Found Tony after my then current repair shop turned from small business to large business. Turning to large business the shop lost all the good customer service they gave. Tony was a great find, called my car "classic" and was happy to chat about my car. Called today to schedule an oil change, had not heard back from him from a VM I left 3 days ago. I spoke to him today, he flatly said, " I don't work on old cars anymore ". I asked him not even for an oil change? He said no, too hard to get parts. Ok- it's certainly his choice to not work on certain cars because of his ability, but be aware that his shop doesn't work on whatever he deems as "old". When electric and newer cars that require computers to diagnose and repair become the norm, places like Tony's will be considered "old" and fall out of need.

Erik diagnosed a major engine problem when the Engine Light showed up! He knew repairs to my 2017 Chevy Equinox were needed asap! I towed my SUV to the dealer right away and they did their diagnostic! Just in-time to get my Cam Shaft Exhaust Valve + Other related engine issues were fixed by a Master Mechanic at the dealer where I bought the SUV! Much appreciation to Erik, Payton, and Keagan! I really appreciated…read moreHazel's flexibility and willingness to work on my car past store hours to help get everything resolved. Since my oil change was due soon anyway, I also asked them to complete that service while fixing the alternator. Unfortunately, during the service, I received a call that they had accidentally broken my dipstick and would need to call around junkyards to find a replacement. After a few weeks, I was finally told I could come back anytime to get the dipstick replaced and complete the oil change. What really disappointed me was the way the situation was handled afterward. When I asked about a discount due to the inconvenience, one staff member told me I would receive 20% off. However, when I came in, I was charged full price for the oil change. The employee checking me out was kind, apologized, and said they'd speak with the manager. The manager then came over and told me there would be no discount or free oil change and said he didn't understand why I would expect compensation when they replaced the dipstick for free. But replacing the dipstick for free was simply correcting damage caused during service. He eventually offered a $10 discount for "next time" instead of resolving the issue then and there. I like and appreciate most of the staff, especially Hazel, but the manager's handling of the situation left a bad impression.
