We stayed here overnight on a drive up to Oregon. We rented three rooms. Upon entering the rooms they seemed nice and clean. We always check the beds for bedbugs but didn't see anything. We did wake up to a various "bugs" in the tub, near the bed and an earwig crawling across the bathroom floor. Not impressed. They also don't offer mini shampoos at this location. Would suggest that if you don't like bugs stay somewhere else. read more

Willows is an armpit of a place. There really is no way to avoid it. I stayed at this dump a couple times and was surprised by how terrible it was. Now that really isn't the case. Each room went to Ikea on a $300 budget and glammed the f up. It has this sheik, contemporary style to it. Granted, its all super fake looking but a huge improvement. Somewhat clean rooms, cool A/C, close to the track, $60 a night. I am a believer now. read more

My room looked exactly like the photos. It was perfectly comfortable and a very reasonable price. Not sure why the poor reviews. Yes, the furniture is on the cheap side but so what? It's in good shape and it's probably much easier to clean the rooms. These guys are doing a lot with very little and keeping the prices very low. Woman at the front desk was very nice. Plus, they've put several different component plugins smack in the middle of the tv panel. That's actually very convenient for travelers! read more

Stayed here with my Husband on a work trip and was very disappointed. We stayed here once before and the room was minimal (as expected with Motel 6) but felt somewhat clean (excluding a burn mark on the sheets). However, this past trip was HORRIBLE! First off, even though I had a King, non smoking reserved, they apparently didnt have one available when I arrived. I was given instead a two queen, smoking room. I had a horrible night sleeping because of this! The room smelled so strong of smoke, it felt like I was choking on it. Second, the room was SO dirty. There were stains in the shower, what looked like blood stains on the light switches, peeling paint on the door/walls, mold in the toilet and shower, crumbs on the floors that looked as if they had just been swept under the bed and not picked up. I felt SO gross sleeping here and just wanted the night to end so I could wake up and leave. Third, the young girl clerk that checks you in, is SO rude. She is very unfriendly and treats you as if you are burdening her by checking in. No, people skills, no customer service skills, just flat rude. I travel this highway often for work, this will no longer be a stop for me. I would rather spend the extra $30 and go to Best Western across the street. read more

Be sure to ask to match online price. We didn't, and paid about $10 a night more. About $85 for the night with tax on a weekend in hunting season. I still recommend this as a place to stay. We are traveling with a toddler, and have a new appreciation for the minimalist style and built in features, as there are fewer things for little hands to grab. For a Motel 6 at less than $50 for the night, this is very nice. Room appears clean, A/C works, quiet minus a little foot traffic upstairs and rattles within the room. There is a TV w/satellite, microwave (from the 80's), mini fridge, hot & cold running water, soap, towels, wood looking laminate flooring, bed with pillows and seating & space to lay out my things. Bed and pillows feel stiff. Room was freshly cleaned which is great except the odor or fumes from the cleaner irritated my throat. Needed to request a hair dryer, but immediately received one. Check-in person, Rebecca, was very kind and personable -- that's hard to find anywhere. Bottom line: if you need a place to lay your head on the cheap, this Motel 6 is a good choice. If you're looking for any frills (I.e. breakfast, down pillows, in-room coffee) look elsewhere. read more

Seriously, for the price you will not stay in a better room than this. Clean, refurbished and the complete opposite of many bargain rooms for rent. I spent two weeks traveling up and down the entire west coast. First night stayed there out of necessity as we had been driving for 10 hours and needed someplace to crash. A week later coming back down the coast we made a conscious decision to spend another night there since the first time was so nice. The hubby and I decided to stay at this Motel 6 on our way to visit relatives and it was a good decision. Very clean, tidy and friendly staff. Just be sure you stay on the 2nd floor. Unfortunately, the hubby reserved our room not knowing it was on the bottom floor and we get got an earfull with people stomping with their workboots 4am. Though it wasn't the hotels fault, they made an effort to ask the people to keep the volume down after we called the front desk and complained about the noise. DO NOT STAY HERE! I had the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. First off, I had a reservation that I had paid for in advance. He said he had to run my card again because it doesn't charge you until you check in. He ended up charging me $100 when it was supposed to be $70. That was the rate I booked for online. Then, he kept treating me like I was some kind of vagrant coming to party. He kept telling me no smoking and no guests as if I was going to throw a party. I was in Chico for a wedding and was in the room literally to sleep for 8 hours. THEY ALSO ENTERED MY ROOM UNINVITED WHEN I WAS NOT THERE. I know this because I left a pice of paper in the floor right when you walk in. There was a huge foot print on it when I came back. The owner is a complete jerk and he will verbally harass you if you question anything and treat you like a criminal. read more

It provides secured free wifi. You have to ask the front desk for the username and password. There is one ice maker and vending machine near the office. The motel is close to the freeway and near restaurants and gas stations. No free continental breakfast. There is no facial tissues provided in the room. I like the fact the soap and shampoo are in dispensers and not in mini bottles. It is a clean and simple room and decent for the price we paid. read more

I stopped here on my recent move from Seattle to Berkeley. This place is really cute, clean and fancy. I like the little breakfast nook in each room. The beds are comfortable, pets are allowed (although not on the furniture. Not easy when you have two curious cats). Yes, it's a little noisy--the "wood" floors don't insulate sound the way carpet does. However, it's really not that bad for a roadside motel. Desk clerk Sarah was very sweet and helpful. She gave me the lowdown on the noise and recommended an upstairs room. I opted for downstairs because I sleep like a log and I wanted the convenience. The place is clean and affordable. Fast food is across the street. Don't over look Wong's which is next to motel office, good food! The motel has Dish TV, no instructions Ended up just turning it off. After a long drive I didn't need more than hit the switch and watch TV. We checked in last minute for a two night stay in a handicap room. The room was nice and clean and all the staff was very nice and accommodating. Nice location because every thing is right there. Chinese food, Mexican and fast food, Pizza and Black Bear dinner. There is also a dollar store next door. read more

I have stayed in other motel 6 motels and this one is a cut above them all. The rooms are clean, the desk clerk (Sarah) was warm, welcoming and helpful, and everything you need is available. The price is fair enough and it is close(walking distance) to places to eat, gas, coffee, and just a few miles from Thunderhill Raceway. I would like to see them open the office earlier then 7am for coffee and keep the pool open later. (Although nice Sarah did let us lounge in the water longer then the pool hours) I will stay in this motel each time I come to Willows, CA for track days read more

Motel 6's seem to vary a lot these days, so I'm wary of them. But this is a good one. Clean and simple, friendly folks in the office. Fake wood floors and simple furniture that make it easy to clean. The microwave and fridge were a nice surprise. The wifi worked well. Only problem was that the room was very hot when I arrived in mid-afternoon (it was over 100 degrees outside), and it took several hours for the air conditioner to cool the room down. I left it on while I went out for dinner, and the room was almost fit for humans by the time I came back. Still a good value. This is one I would use again when traveling up the central valley. read more

In my room, the comforter was dirty, but I always take those off the bed when I stay at motels. There's a saying you can dress up a pig but it's still a pig and that is the perfect analogy for Motel 6. They slapped on a fresh coat of two tone paint, put ikea type bed frames under a hard mattress, put a LCD screen in a wood panel, and tried to put some style in a motel best known as the place you take one night please don't catch me encounters or I can't find any other motel so this will do. I give them credit for trying but other things need to change as well to improve quality. Insulation needs to improve big time as sound still comes through the walls like air through swiss cheese and keeps you up all night. People you just assume never see again rove about the doors and smoke and talk, slam car doors and rev their engines up right at your door. The floor is some weird slippery fake wood that makes weird sounds and feels like cheap material. Your dog will enjoy slip sliding on it so I guess extra entertainment. Free wifi... forget about it. Very slow... we're talking dial up's predecessor. Overall, the front desk person was very nice and they allow pets so those are pluses but everything else is motel 6 at its average best. read more

This is the better choice as far as hotels go in Willows. The rooms are so clean and nice. Reminds me of an Ikea showroom. When we got there they said that someone had called and cancelled our reservation witch was weird, bu t they had rooms so no biggie. The credit card machine declined both of our cards, even though ther was money one both. So we had to pay cash. A friend that we go to the track with said the same thing happened to them but them their card ended up getting charged a few times, so watch out for that... read more

We got a higher price than other yelpers due to the motel being booked during the races; it always annoys me to pay more than the online advertised prices. Anyway, I appreciate the "modern" remodel--not my style, but nice and clean. One thing I missed was in-room coffee: we hunt, so we leave very early in the morning, and I like to have coffee in hand before heading out. Also, for all the space in the room, the bathroom is extremely small--no sink in there either. Another reviewer mentioned a lack of bedding, which I agree with: without the heater on it gets too chilly for just a light blanket. Also, there was a creeper looking fellow smoking outside, so we brought all our theft-worthy stuff into the room (normal for us). Wow--sorry for the essay. To sum things up: Will most certainly stay again next time we hunt Sac Refuge. Perhaps next time we'll bring a French press and boil water in the microwave... read more

I will give it to motel 6, they are trying. The room was remodeled. Very contemporary and clean. It was the last room and next to garbage cans. As I was getting the stuff from my car to walk back to room I something or someone crawling around the dumpster and ran to my room which is 10 ft away form eachother, turns out it was the local homeless man foraging for his nightly meal...not so impressed with that seemed like a lot of folks might be extended stayers. Noisy from people upstairs walking all around. Clean and neat room If you can see past the other. Thumbs up-cheap with two dogs 78 bucks 2 people two beds. read more

It was about 10:30 pm and we pulled in to motel 6 and they had 1 room left. The front desk man was very nice and quick to accommodate us. Surprisingly the room was very nice and clean. The first thing I looked for were bed bug and to see that the mattress was covered with a very nice mattress cover and bright white sheets. The room was very modern. I would like to thank Rebecca the later front desk woman for helping me out with more towels and letting me know about the area. She had been here her whole life and was very friendly. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!! If your in the area I highly recommend this establishment also they are pet friendly which is nice considering the rooms have wood plank flooring read more

This is a budget place, that's for sure. But if that's what you want, that's what you'll get. On the plus side: VERY clean. The floors were spotless as was the bathroom and sink area. No weird smells. Non smoking rooms available. Sizable parking lot, but no covered parking. I found it to be quiet enough for me to sleep. If you want any amenity, though, you will have to ask. My room didn't come with a hair dryer nor shampoo. And the shampoo that I got when I asked for it was not what I would use again. So if you have room in your suitcase, bring your own toiletries. read more

It's hard to believe I would EVER give this many stars to a Motel 6. I also never thought I would stay at a Motel 6 after my college days when I was strapped for cash, but this one changed my mind. After tons of good reviews I read, I decided to give it a try (the $50-60/night was way too good to pass by), and was very pleasantly surprised. This place had the nicest designed rooms of any motels I've ever been too, and it rivals even some of the higher end places I've been to (Holiday Inn, DoubleTree). The staff was super friendly and helpful, the check in/out was easy, and the bed/pillows were comfy (and I'm a pretty sensitive sleeper when it comes to mattresses and pillows). The place even comes with a fridge in case you need it. I decided to write this review after staying here for 4 nights (on 2 different occasions) and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a super high value and comfortable place to stay when they visit Willows. read more

Contemporary rooms with a very nice pet area, all for around $60 for 2 people and 1 king sized bed. This is not your usual motel 6, the beds are comfy and all rooms have a fridge, a microwave, wood floors, and soap, shampoo, and lotion dispensers. Really on the nice side for this budget chain. I would gladly stay again. My only gripe is that checkout is at 11:00, when it's pretty standard for motel 6 to allow a noon checkout. read more

On the way back down from Oregon we stayed in a first floor room. Sarah cautioned us about the possible floor noise from upstairs. We had no noise issues during the evening and night, and only heard some walking around the next morning. I'm sure it depends upon who is in the room upstairs and how light a sleeper you are. read more

For a one $ motel, this place definitly earned a 5-star rating. This motel's remodel makes the room feel larger than others I've stayed in. It was clean and the platform style bed frame with mattress very comfortable; solid feedback from my partner who is a sensative sleeper that has a tempeurpedic at home. After realizing it was dangerous to drive any further since we were both so tired from over nine hours on the road, we stopped at Motel 6. It wasn't our first choice, but Holiday Inn was already sold out for the night. We got their last room and were very glad we did. It has been at least 20 years since we had stayed at Motel 6 and a lot has changed. The rooms were very clean and the beds were new. It was a great place to crash for the night. The clerk was friendly and had to rearrange things so we could get a nonsmoking room. I especially liked all the plugs right next to the bed. read more
