I was really impressed by this hotel. My room was amazing - great bed, top water pressure and super clean. I appreciated the black-out blinds and the Dove amenities. Check in and check out were very quick. The staff were very friendly and helped us find some plates for our dinner. There are lots of take out places next door and within walking distance, including Starbucks, Subway and Taco Bell. It wasn't my first time staying here, and it won't be my last! read more

I enjoyed this Holiday Inn, I initially thought it was going to be terrible based upon the reviews, but it was nice. Came from Southern California for a graduation. The staff were friendly, especially Julie, the young lady who checked us in. There were problems with our TV she actually came to our room to fix It, she was not able to correct it at that moment and offered us points, although we were not completely satisfied, she had the best attitude which made it truly hard to be upset. Remember attitude is everything. We were on the first floor, no view, just a bunch of trucks but we did not expect much. The beds were super comfortable, pillows were comfortable, we had to get a few extra wash cloths but that was ok as well.. We went out and came back during the lunch hour and there were chocolate chip cookies available, like we really needed them, but it was nice. I have stayed here a few times. Lots of parking in the back, the rooms have been clean for me, despite some reviews showing hair, I haven't had any problems in the past 3 years. The front desk is always friendly. The water is piping hot. King rooms come with a bathtub. The workout facilities is clean, and has a nice cable machine, elliptical, and treadmill, sadly no free weights if bench though, that would complete their gym. There is a pool for summer use, and their parking in back is covered for the hot summer month. The nice thing to is you can't really hear traffic outside of the highway. You can hear everything here. Doors slamming. Main floor sounds echo throughout the hotel sounding like it was under construction when it was just housekeeping. Fan, even on continuous (auto turned off, set on low) only ran when a/c kicked in. The acoustics are horrible. Barely slept. Only plus is that room was clean. Bed bugs... I stayed in room 206 but it could of came from my coworker room because I was sitting on the couch in there before I went to my room to sleep. I've got about 8 bites on the back of my legs. Bed bug bites can become noticeable 2-14 days after bites depending on how the body reacts. Yesterday they were itching so bad and they're all about the same size. On the back of both legs and only on the back of my legs. Never have I ever had this experience before at a hotel. Or even with bed bug bites because they can in fact live in couches. But I should have known since there is a roach issue as well there. This place needs some serious cleaning up. This is the second time I stay at this location. Their are a couple of other hotels next door, but the Holiday Inn is by far the most modern and better looking. I actually enjoy staying at this location because you have a couple of fast food restaurants at walking distance. Right next door, you have a Subway, Starbucks and Burger King to choose from if you're looking for something quick to eat. I also like the fact that they have a large parking lot available and I don't have to be struggling looking for a parking space. They do have a small lobby and a small breakfast area which they do serve continental breakfast in the morning from 6am to 9:30am. There is also an outdoor pool at this location for those hot sunny days. Both times that I have been here. I have received great service from front desk and housekeeping. This is a great location If you are passing through and need a place to stay for the night. Remember it's located in a small town so don't expect to have much to do. read more

This hotel was in a great location for my family to stop on the way home from a big road trip from northern CA to Southern CA. I LOVED the fact that they have suites that can fit my family of 6 comfortably. The room was nice with comfy beds and the free breakfast was better than expected with biscuits and gravy, omelets, bacon, sausage, and many more options of cold continental type of items. Have stayed here several times. Last time I was there there was pubic hair all over the floor !! Disgusting. Time before there was hair stuck to shower wall and a fridge leaking. These guys practice unfair business practices. But They are the best motel in willows anyway. TheY cancelled my room as no show in the evening while I was on my way to willows for a track day at Thunderhill. I didn't get a notification about it. When I arrived at 11 pm the late-night employee couLdnt reinstate my reservation and even when ihg corporate intervened made me book another room to stay there. I ended up paying $240 to stay one night here! Afterwards, there's case open to attempt to refund my first night, I doubt they'll follow up. read more

Paid $200 for our room got to room pulled back bedding as we always do hairs everywhere and little curly black ones at that I mean everywhere on the pillows bedspread sheets wrinkles in sheets as if someone definitely slept in it and was not changed. Crumbs all over chair and bathroom lotion was left open and 1/2 used. Bathroom had hairs in it. Called front desk they said there was no cleaning crew on been waiting over an hour plus for clean linens and had to vacuum our room myself after asking for a vacuum. No apology just we don't have any other rooms sorry no discount nothing to make it right. Will never stay at a holiday inn express again. Marriott all the way! Gross! Feel bad for the gal she is all alone but still having to wait for over an hour is ridiculous. We are starving and now 7:45pm and still waiting. Would have left if we could have been offered our money back for a new hotel. To top it off we had a spider in room and tv doesn't work so much for a peaceful break from our 15 hour drive. I really enjoyed my stay here! I was passing through Willows from Portland to LA and this was sort of my halfway point. I'm always weary of small town hotels because they usually are not as updated as I would hope. This location was still under renovation- but my room was all set up. The staff was amazing and my room was like new! I was grateful to have a nice place to sleep in between my 14 hour drive. If you're passing through along the 5 fwy, there is no other place you should look at. read more

So so disappointed in this lodging experience. We booked this trip directly through Holiday Inn; we did not go through a third party to book so any problems with this booking was directly on the Willows branch of holiday inn. We booked a room for our family of 6 adults/teenagers. They gave us a room with a king bed with a pullout bed. ??? They told us that they "MAKE NO GUARANTEES" when making a reservation. What the heck is a reservation for then? We crammed 3 in the king bed and 2 in the small, uneven, lumpy pullout bed and put one on the floor (we had to buy a sleeping bag). After the first night of this 3 night reservation we were told that they wouldn't /couldn't correct anything, change our room or compensate for their mistake. To make things worse we found dirty underwear from a previous guest under our bed (picture included). Hello, My wife, newborn son, and I stayed at your Holiday Inn Express in Willows on Saturday, April 25, 2020 and I would like to share our experience. I called the hotel that evening asking if there were any vacancies and inquired about rates. The lady who answered helped me booked the room and was extremely nice. We arrived around 8:30pm and checked in without any issues. Upon entering the room, we noticed that the room was missing base board moldings and had painters tape holding up areas of the wallpaper around the room. I went to the front desk trying to request another room for we had an infant with us and the lady informed me that the hotel was being renovated and said "oh, sorry about that, I forgot to mention that when you called". We decided to overlook it and stayed in the room. At 11:30pm, there was a strong Marijuana smell engulfing our room. I immediately went outside and the entire hallway wreaked of the smell. I filed a complaint with the gentleman at the front desk informing him that this was not tolerable, especially since we had a baby with us, and he informed me that he would try and find which room it was coming from and to spray scent in the hallway to try and mask it. I asked if he could leave a note with management to inform them and to contact me but I never was contacted. He did mention that the manager's name is "Pritty" (sorry if I misspelled that). We put a towel underneath the door and turned the air conditioner on trying to air out the smell but it lingered all night. The next morning, I went to the breakfast bar to bring my wife some food and when I opened the bread display case, about 5-10 flies came buzzing out. I gather other items and went back to the room. As my wife (who is still breast feeding) was about to eat a yogurt, she noticed it had expired on 04/19/20, 6 days prior to being put out for guests to eat (took a picture). Imagine if she had eaten it. We're not really the type to complain but place yourself in our shoes. Would you consider this acceptable? Feel free to contact me if you'd like to discuss this further. Wow! Absolutely horrible experience. First of all, we drove 3 1/2 hours to arrive to the hotel when all of a sudden our reservations no longer existed. My aunt was told they would save 15 rooms for our family because of my uncles funeral and everyone lives out of town. I talked to Maria who made my reservation and then we show up to talk to Maria and she blames on the other girl Nicole. There was a lot of pointing the finger to other employees. We were told that hopefully the following day we can check in, in the meantime they have available rooms down the street! All of my family stayed at this hotel! I had to wait hours with my newborn in a lobby with nowhere to go. So, so disappointed. Will never go there! Prety the owner knew about the entire ordeal from the get go and we should have at least received a phone call before driving from the get go. Also, they kept checking in other guest! We asked them, "why can't you turn someone else away?" There response was, "they made reservations awhile ago!" Okay, so why let us make reservations if you were booked? read more

We stayed here for a quick one night stay last night. I was very impressed with the customer service. Josepha, who worked the front desk from 2-10pm, was super friendly, helpful and generous. I was very impressed with her and she was so sweet and friendly with my 2 year old daughter. She spent a lot of time with us and helped us get all set up for our breakfast which would be prepared and in a bag at the front desk by 6am. Unfortunately, they don't have many options as far as what's for breakfast. Essentially it seemed like just prepackaged muffins. They are a good size, and the blueberry ones were really good, but the chocolate was not a tasty. We ordered bagels, apples, applesauce and a couple other things, but all that was in our bag was muffins. We were able to pick up some chocolate milks as well before we left. As far as the room, it was pretty clean, organized and had the essentials for one night. The bed was very large and super comfortable. The shower was nice and had good water pressure. We also borrowed a crib from the hotel for our daughter and it worked out perfectly. When walking around the hotel, there were things that could be a little cleaner but nothing horrendous. We also were able to use the pool which was a nice surprise. We thought it might be closed due to COVID, but it's open from 8am-10pm. We had the pool to ourselves last night from 9-10pm! It was fun. The pool was relatively clean, but there were a decent amount of bugs floating around. So one star off for obvious reasons, but Josepha and the overall experience were great! Oh, also conveniently located basically in the same parking lot as a drive thru Starbucks, so this was also a nice come up! read more

I've stayed here many times in the past because it's a nice hotel. Unfortunately, since the remodeling, and possible personnel change, I can't say that anymore. I arrived late on Saturday night and ended up in my usual room next to the ice machine. I guess being a club member, making a reservation in advance and paying in advance doesn't get me any bonus points. Once I arrived I checked in and started unpacking. The first thing I noticed was a silverfish walking around in the bathtub. Then I noticed no shampoo or conditioner. I called the front desk and went down to retrieve them so I could take a shower. I started undressing then noticed no dirty clothes bag. I wasn't going back downstairs for that. So, I took my shower. Then I wanted to check my email but my computer wouldn't log onto their internet. Called the front desk again, and the clerk volunteered to come up to my room to look at the computer. I said that's ok, I'll just go to sleep. Finally as I was brushing my teeth, I saw another creature wondering around in the Bathroom. I hope him and the silverfish had a nice evening in my room.! We stay here ever year around the holidays traveling back to Oregon. It is consistently comfortable and clean. This time we were on the top floor in a recently remodeled room. Their beds are sooo comfortable and the sheets are so soft! What was different and especially nice were these new window blinds they put in. Once closed, there was no light peeking in -at all!!! So many other hotels always have light peeking through curtains. Made it so nice to sleep, I woke up at 9am and had slept very well (the primary goal traveling). Will definitely stay here if I'm traveling through here. read more

Our Go-To hotel when my man is racing a track day at Thunderhill Raceway, down the road. Staff is always so nice and friendly, rooms are impeccably clean, and breakfast included! Ample parking for large towing vehicles, which is important for riders. And the hotel is usually pretty under capacity, which means guests are not packed door to door, resulting in a nice quiet stay. Track Rate averages around $110 a night, which is definitely the most expensive in town, but such a steal for the value! Wifi connection sucks, and the pool is kinda gross with tons of bugs floating in the water, but neither are deal breakers. read more

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn on more than one occasion. I always ask for a room on the back side of the hotel, and when I arrive they tell me the room I have is on that side. But, it is always on the other side when they say that. It would be nice if the people who work at the hotel know which side is which. When we arrived this time and I discovered that they had done it again, I asked if we could be given a room on the back side. I was told that would not be possible because they were totally full. After arriving in my room, I looked on my computer to see if I could make an online reservation for this hotel online - surprise, I could! When I took the luggage cart back downstairs, there was someone checking in who had not called ahead, but was given a room. I asked the desk clerk, Maria, about the discrepancy, and she said there was nothing she could do. As in another review, she blamed the morning staff for the error and would not take responsibility for anything that went wrong. I have worked with her on a previous visit with a similar experience; she tries to appear kind and friendly, but she is anything but. She clearly does not like working with guests and wants to be rid of them as soon as she can. She seems to have no patience for anything that might need additional attention or work on her part and is willing to lie to guests to avoid having to do that. I personally do not think lying to a guest is an appropriate way to treat your clientele. It is insulting and rude. First off, the staff as a whole was friendly and helpful. The front desk staff at check in answered my questions and pointed out local attractions besides Disneyland. The housekeeping people were also very friendly, as were the breakfast staff. The rooms aren't huge, but they are well-maintained, as is the rest of the hotel. The place isn't dirty, it's not falling apart, and it's not staffed by schlemiels. Third floor near the back of the hotel with a view of the empty field. The beds were good, and the room had a decent sized bathroom. They provided free wireless internet of course, but I had plugged my computer directly into the network since they had already provided the cable. The free breakfast was awesome! I had my fill of good coffee, OJ, scrambled eggs and bacon, glorious bacon! Throw in a bagel and cream cheese and a couple of the patented cinnamon rolls and I was stuffed. Pros: This location was fairly new, and the accommodations were a notch above the other places in Willows. The room was nicely furnished, as you'd expect from a newer H.I.E. Included were a microwave, refrigerator, and Internet connection. Cons: The wireless Internet connection was mostly nonexistent. We were occasionally able to get online for a moment or two. It drove us stark raving mad. An hour later, we called the reception desk and were told in certain rooms the connection wasn't great, and they offered us a cable to connect to a wall outlet. The cable worked out nicely, only we'd wished they'd told us about the faulty connection a couple of hours earlier(when we'd checked in). Breakfast: This is not a place to visit if one is the least bit allergic to milk, or prefers semi healthy food. Scrambled Eggs - I'd asked if there was milk in them, and the hotel employee was nice enough to retrieve a long list of the ingredients from the kitchen. I believe the second ingredient listed was Hydrogenated Oil. Gross! Why on God's Earth would anyone want That in their eggs? I didn't have it in me to read further down, because it would have most likely ruined what was left of my rapidly shriveling yen for palatable fare. I really wish they'd served some healthy alternatives. Perhaps scrambled egg whites, waffles with real syrup, and some sort of healthy non dairy alternative to add to their cereal or coffee. Stayed here for the night while at Thunderhill Raceway. Probably the newest hotel in town and doesn't suffer from the mosquito issues that the Golden Pheasant has but it's pricey (around $ 110 a night versus $ 80 - $ 90 for the other hotels) . The rooms are nicely furnished but the walls are a little thin. It's a short walk to a couple of restaurants - pizza, Mexican (Casa Ramos, highly recommended), Black Bear Diner (another recommendation), Dennys and the usual fast food burger places. Stayed here because it had the highest rating, but we were very disappointed in the front desk desk staff clerk at check in. Even though a motel can be a fairly nice place with good accommodations, the staff sometimes makes your stay there. We were there Sunday, September 5, 2021, and checked in late afternoon. The woman clerk was not very friendly or helpful, and was rather short and somewhat rude. Later we had an issue using the key card to enter the back entrance, and went up to the desk, and upon seeing me from the back area she asked loudly, "What do you want?" I was a little surprised, expecting a, what can I do for you, or may I help you. Rather than going to the door to help me, she just said that maybe the card was bad and to just try it again. It didn't work for me, and when I went back later the clerk was sitting outside smoking a cigarette, but she did walk to the back door with me to show me how it worked, but, she never put down her cigarette. However, in the morning I went to check out and the woman at the front desk was absolutely helpful and friendly. Had she been there at check in our stay would have been much more pleasant. I think management should monitor their staff a little more, even during these times when workers may be hard to find. Overall, the room was very clean and nice. The breakfast was fairly good, with cheese omelets, bagels, toast, cereals, etc. However, only apples for fruit, and almost all were bruised and old looking. Would we stay there again, as we are coming back through in a few days? Probably not, because the price seems high for the location, and with the possibility of having the same desk clerk, there are definitely more reasonably priced places, with friendly staff, a little further down the highway. read more

Not quite sure what to say about prior negative reviews, but I stayed here about a month ago, and it was quite possibly one of the cleanest hotels I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. While there have been past mentions of bedbugs being an issue, I am happy to report that in room 302, there was no such issue whatsoever. The accommodations were spacious, nicely-appointed, clean, and seemed to be newly-renovated. Bedding was fresh, ample bath linens provided, and extras that were requested were provided as well. Free wi-fi was fast, but can't tell if that was based on our location in the hotel. (We were centrally-located near/above the lobby area). The lobby staff was friendly, helpful, and we literally checked in within minutes of arriving. A wake-up call was offered, although not utilized, and the complimentary breakfast was explained. Back to the cleanliness: not one single area encountered was dirty, cluttered or otherwise less than exceptionally clean. You could literally smell the clean. Carpets were vacuumed, furniture dusted, pool area spotless and well-chlorinated. Hot tub in great working condition, too. Pool area spotless, lobby was the same. Breakfast was not only pastries, but make-it-yourself pancake station, along with cereals, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, juices, coffee, tea, milk, yogurt, and assorted fruit. Based on amenities provided, I felt the price point was accurate at $109/night, and after staying in another hotel in the same town, it was literally a pleasant night and day difference. I will absolutely not hesitate to book this hotel again for future track days at Thunderhill. Nicely attired, as well - granite in the bath and on the bar outside, solid furnishings, and a bed that wasn't too soft. There's a pool & hot tub on the complex, but we didn't have a chance to use them. Breakfast buffet had a large variety, both protein & carb. However, the eggs were pretty nasty. We stayed at this facility a week ago Saturday 8-15-20. I have emailed twice , called 3x's. Regarding 3rd floor bed bug infestation. I have not received an email back nor a phone call. When I call I am told by Paulina it is forwarded to higher management. I'm very unsatisfied by no urgency in this matter. I am covered in bites along with my boyfriend. I have several pictures I have forwarded on my email as well. The staff that checked us in as was not surprised by my call. Don't stay here.. unless you want to get eaten alive. Horrible experience. And no care in response to my email. I am contacting higher up. This is a huge disappointment since COV-ID this was our first get away only because my boyfriend firefighter family was getting married and it was an honor to support the firefighters. I checked in this afternoon after a long day at the race track. Naturally worried about my race car I requested a room that faced the parking lot. Katie and Makayla were working the host desk and were so helpful. I almost went and stayed at the casino but these two young ladies service is the reason I stayed. I had allot of questions as I'm not from the area trying to find some food and place to get a drink. They were both verry helpful and had excelent suggestions. I've always been a fan of the consistency of Holiday Inns. Ever since their remodeling of many of their locations it's always been a pleasure to stay. I recently came here redeeming my points for a free nights stay on my way home from a road trip. I like the location is right off the freeway, with plenty of gas stations and fast food options right down the street. And right across the parking lot was a Starbucks which is nice. The double queen size suite is ample room to share amongst a few folks with a futon couch as well. There was two TVs which is convenient when you can't decide with your friends what to watch. Quite location as it's built a little down the way. And they also have a large gravel lot for oversized vehicles or trailers to park which was a big plus as we had a 16' trailer to park. read more
