If there is a zero in a review, I would give this place a big Zero. They always replied to comments that they are renovating. Painted by a 10 yr old., patch up job on work. Suspicious people outside the building. I didn't even look at the mattress until the morning. There's even blood on the mattress. Yuck..Doubled the sheets to make me at ease. Night of Monday, March 6, 2023. I picked this hotel for an overnight stay because it was the cheapest in town. For two queen beds, 1 person, I paid $55. Upon parking, I saw a sketchy looking woman crawling out of a first-floor window. This window had no screen at all. A man smoked marijuana outside the lobby. The front desk attendant took forever to check me in. The parking lot had a few vagrants hanging around and I felt a bit nervous to leave my work truck there. I tried the side entrance, which was locked. While I pulled on the door a suspicious lady peered at me through her curtains. I embedded a rose thorn in my hand while unloading my luggage. While unloading my luggage, I watched the front desk attendant escort a hooker to the laundry room. At least it looked like a hooker, in a white, skintight dress that barely covered her hips. Upon entering the room, I noticed the floors weren't swept, the trash hadn't been emptied, and the room had a chemical smell. This smell intensified throughout the night and burned my nose. Not sure if they were using meth in the room next to mine? To top everything off, the mattress had a cigarette burn in it and the sheets on both beds were stained and dirty. Luckily, in the morning, my truck hadn't been broken into. I would strongly encourage any traveler to spend a few bucks more and stay elsewhere. The staff at this motel is very nice and helpful. They bent over backwards for my handicapped friend. However, the room itself was very disgusting. My sheet on the bed had blood stains and a burn mark. The blanket had bleach spots from bleaching out questionable stains. The water did not work so no shower. Barely a trickle out of the sink faucet. Ugly room and ugly hotel in general. read more

The owners need to be fined for dilapidated rooms/housing they provide. The owners have no excuse to not up keep this establishment if they have resident customers that provide a stable source of income for this business. Cheap hotel- the exterior has plywood warped and coming loose. Inside the carpets were dirty as well as the carpet in the hallway. In my room the fire alarm hanging down by wires. Hole in the ceiling from a water leak. The toilet was stained. Floor tile chipped. The remote didn't work. No fridge in the room. The walls are paper thin. And then the hallway fire alarm went off. We reserved our room early for two adults. When we arrived our room didn't have any toilet paper, one towel and smelled like a smokers bar. When we requested a different room, they didn't have another room to offer. The room was marginally clean and certainly in need of maintenance. We won't be staying at Motel 6 any more. read more

I was told it was my only option because of the festival in town and I had to bring my pet. When I drove into the parking lot I noticed holes in the roof and in the siding of the buildings. The grounds are not taken care of as there are tons of overgrown weeds. I went to the room and it was what I expected. Pillows are stained and old, doesn't look like its been cleaned.. Totally a disgusting place, but cheap. I tried to call other places to get out, but all booked. Guess I will not be sleeping very well in this turd. This places is where dreams go to die! If you need the cheapest place to stay, this would probably work for you and if you have pets! But over the years the quality of this motel 6 has gone down since we have last visit about two years ago! You can easily go 200ft up the hill for $10 dollars more and get a better room with their competitor. When we first arrived in the room, we immediately noticed how musky our non smoking room was and run down! The walls had some half done caulking and easy fix pieces attached to the rooms. Our sheets felt very moist and damp! Image smelling an old closet that had water damage, that's exactly what it smelt like! Our towels were very hard, the faucet running the water smelt like (fart/moldy boiled eggs) our bathroom door had a huge hole like someone punched in .... I couldn't help but laugh at how ghetto it was!! The phone in our room to call the office did not even work! They couldn't even find time to fix the toilet paper holder hahaha (please see pic) There was 3 pillows total and they were all flat as a pancake hahah no support what so ever!But since we were already there and wasn't planning on staying in the motel long we stuck it out. After visiting grandmas grave at the Ft. Bayard cemetery we thought ok nothing can get worst than this! Well it happened to rain super hard to the point of flooding so we immediately returned to the hotel to find there was water coming in from the walls!!!! I quickly had to call the front office to let them know and their first question was " did you leave the window open" hahaha why would we leave the window open when we clearly avoided our room until it was time for us to sleep! We were not compensated for anything, when we told the front man about the water damage and hole in bathroom door, instead we were moved into another room, which was fine, but an acknowledgment to those issues would of been some good customer service. I also asked about the phone and the man stated none of the phones work in this building... We checked out way earlier than 11 am because we were tired of the nasty beds and uncomfortable musty sheets, my husband quickly ran into the office to drop off our cards around 6 am and was encountered by a very very rude lady. He stated all he said was we are checking out now and would like to return these keys and the lady rudely responded What in an annoying way and he had to repeat what he said to her twice before she smirked at him. I don't know what has happened to this location but we've stay at quite a few motel 6 and this was the worst ones! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else so that it does not ruin your trip! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! I literally NEVER leave reviews!!! We waited over an HOUR at this motel for someone to come to the desk. Me being an EMT I start thinking someone had a heart attack so I go in their office to check. Lo and behold ZERO employees but their drug bong was left on the table. Corporate did nothing, no refund, can't set up a keycard/room remote. I sincerely hope this employee gets fired. read more

This hotel is "bare bones" (as expected). We expected a no frills room for a no frills price. However, the room had roaches in the bathroom. I killed 5 small ones and 1 big one. Another room wouldn't work...if you see roaches they are all through the building. We received a partial refund. Not happy about having to find another motel. I am giving this Motel 6 a 5 star rating. I would really give this hotel a 4 Star for the actual room and Motel but the service was amazing. My husband and I stay at the Motel 6 while traveling with our dog. They allow dogs up to two with no pet charge. This hotel is inexpensive so it's a hit or miss. The Silver City location is no frills and the rate reflects this but it's clean, comfortable and the staff is the nicest and one of he most accommodating team that I have experienced. The Hotel (manager) was super sweet and gave us recommendations of places to hike and extra pillows! If you want a basic hotel room that is clean with a professional staff and a fair rate this Motel 6 is your place! read more

The family made the dreadful pilgrimage to say farewell to our family's Matriarch. A few of my cousins were going to stay at Motel 6 and suggested me and my crew get a room there too. Now, I am not a motel kinda gal, I prefer the comforts a nice hotel has to offer. So I did the TripAdvisor thing (not so good reviews) and then I started to look at other options. Then it hit me, this is not a vacation, this is about being with the fam and staying together. I was pleasantly surprised to get an early check in, good parking, all of our rooms were next to one another and the rooms were clean. We took our own towels and pillows just in case but overall, the entire experience was good. read more

Perfectly fine for what we needed. Because it was a big weekend in SC (the Blues Festival and Memorial weekend) virtually all the hotels were sold out and rates were high. It was a total of of $202 for 3 nights which was much less than most places. We walked into town about a mile for the festival and also to go to dinner and the Buffalo Bar at night. There is a shuttle to take you to your door from downtown ($3.00) at the end of the night so you don't have to worry about drinking and driving. They do not provide shampoo or conditioner and the soaps are teeny. The towels are ok but scanty. So bring all of these or stop at the Walmart for what you want. There is coffee available in the morning, no pastries or such. This is a big weekend for bikers so expect that will be some noise in the parking lot. All bikers we met were friendly and polite. If you are nice to them, you may get invited over for a beer as we were. That was fun. Staff was very courteous, room was typical with a small fridge and microwave and cable TV. It worked very well for what we wanted which was a basic clean place near all the activities. read more

Stayed here when I first moved to Silver City. I used to stay at Motel 6 on my travels as they were dog friendly; this one is sketchy. The exterior is painted chip board. The room has a huge cockroach in the floor. It was dead, but gross. The bed was uncomfortable and the soundproofing sucked. The staff was friendly, but we checked out a day early. read more

Normally I would not take the time to write a negative review on any establishment. However, Motel 6 located in Silver City, New Mexico as earned this review. Why? Let me list the reasons: 1. When I arrived they claimed they did not have my reservations on Hotels.com 2. The clerk who was in reservations was more concerned with her son who wanted to drive her car home, her friend who showed up on-site and wanted to chat, her friend who was face timing her: rather then ask if she could help or even offer if I wanted a room even though I "did not have a reservation (more to come on the reservation). 3. The lobby area was run down. Everything looked old and tired. It looked like no care had been given to this building in main years. 4. The ice maker did not work 5. The hallway was dirty as was the rug. It also looked tired and run down. 6. The room looked clean, however, when I walked from the bed to the bathroom in my bare feet. They were black by the time I got to the tub area. I believe this was due to the cleaners using dirty water when they "cleaned" the room. 7. The water pressure was so low in the morning that I literally could not use the shower because the water would not reach the showerhead. 8. When I informed the clerk at the front desk (different from the night before clerk) about this issue, her response was "I have heard that". 9. The reservation they "did not have"; well, they charged my credit card for it. They charged me twice. 10. When I contacted Hotels.com, they contacted Motel 6 which said I wasn't charged. I am now forced to dispute the charge with my credit card provider. In the past, I have booked Motel 6 rooms because I have found them clean, and neat. They were a friendly budget option that still understood the minimum requirements for a patron's stay. This one fell so far from that mark. I have traveled the world, and the only place I have stayed worse than this motel was a hostel in Las Vegas, which was scheduled to two weeks after my "stay". read more

The worst motel I have ever seen. First, we got non-smoking room with terrible smell combination of tobacco and roach spray. Then we changed that into another that had the front door wide open, towels used and someone's belongings inside. So, we asked to change the room again. Desk clerk went to the room herself and checked. She gave us keys to the third room. It was on the second floor and had a water dripping from the ceiling straight to the bed; the floor was flooded. Toilet didn't flush. All three rooms had a very heavy roach spray smell. When we wanted to get a refund, the desk clerk insisted on seeing the room herself. Finally, we got the refund and found a much better room for the same price in another motel. read more

Budget friendly but at a price. Now don't get me wrong, they did have a mini fridge and a college size mini microwave, but you'd best bring your own coffee pot. They have one down stairs but not in your room... or cups of any kind. So, let's push that aside for now. Think sterilization... zero pictures, plants or anything in the rooms. You're there to sleep and that's about it. What about the front desk? We were in and out a couple of times and we were afraid to ask anything because the guy was always on the phone, getting a pizza or something. Now I'm all for getting a good night's rest. But if you're not comfortable in the surroundings you're in, a good rest isn't going to happen. Ok, so you got free coffee downstairs by the front desk. So what. Let's total it up. If you're a single male traveling late at night and only have a few bucks to spare, you're in luck! Otherwise, find another hotel. Plenty more around, heck, be just as good to camp outside. Nightmare experience. This place needs to overhaul the plumbing: our shower was scalding hot (no cold water at all), while two doors down the shower would Self-adjust from warm to scalding without warning. The toilet ran 140 degree water and didn't completely flush. To complete the woes, the Incredile Hulk paced the U carpet floor above our heads, all night long and the free coffee was impossibly weak. This place has excellent customer service. I've stayed her multiple times. When I checked in tonight, Delores was working the front desk. She was dealing with a difficult, inebriated customer yet she still handled herself with professionalism. She treated me extremely well. This is a really good value and is dog friendly. Clean and basic for stopover. We spent two nights while we explored Silver City and it was perfect. The toilet needed a part but that could happen anywhere. Nice staff. read more
