    Shower pan

Try cleaning and painting. The shower pan in my room was filthy and a bottle of shampoo from the previous guest on the floor. Carpet was stained. No elevator. Air conditioner made so much noise I couldn't sleep.

Characterful hotel This is a quirky hotel/historical hotel with a lovely homely feel. Our room was spacious and we had a sitting room. It wasn't the best room configuration but we managed to make it work for us. The shower was good, the internet was fast and the breakfast was good. The staff were really friendly too. This is a good option if you want to stay in downtown Silver City!

MY FIRST REVIEW ON THIS SOMEHOW DISAPPEARED! Hmmmm. Several of us stayed at the property and saw this sign prominently displayed in the public area. I imagine it will attract some and dissuade others, but if the owners want their politics out in public view - which I think is inappropriate for a hotelier - then potential guests should know it in advance. Let's hope this review doesn't somehow disappear....

Spent 4 nights in room 80, a suite. Nice room. AC only in bedroom. 1st night was uncomfortably warm, but the temperature outside decreased so the rest of the stay was nice. This is a historic hotel so don't expect high end frills. You are paying for the atmosphere and location. It's in the heart of historic old town. We walked everywhere. Continental breakfast isn't much. No coffee pot in room which was the worst thing for me. Loved the place and hope to return.

Old West downtown type Hotel -- narrow entrance, corridors & rooms. Well maintained, now with mini-fridges. Great base for walking the late 19th century core of Silver City, with its old store fronts, shops & theaters. Park right out front -- one challenge is no elevator. Don't miss walking the neighborhood to see the many tile mosaic displays -- public, commercial and private -- really special. Good jumping off place to access Gila Cliffs National Monument.

I want to love this place. The lobby is cute, the location is killer but the deluxe 2 room suite (granted it was less than a C note) left me wanting for much more. I travel A LOT. I fall asleep to my tv when I travel. No TV in the bedroom. The couch was very dated and the TV was one of those 1982 16" magnavox on the stand. It desperately needs a refresh (room 80 if I recall). No offense but it was a little too period piece for my liberal hotel tastes. The staff is very friendly and accommodating however and I might very well go back and try another room. Silver City is a cute town and downtown is the place to be.

I found this hotel very pleasant and sweet. I had forgotten my charger and they agreed to mail it to me. I was thrilled.

Both the green and red chile were perfect-not too hot but enough to make your lips pleasantly burn. I even bought Hatch fresh roasted, peeled and diced green Chile in bulk (frozen) in their stocked store, as well as a jar of Hatch red chili sauce for when I make my own cheese enchiladas at home. I should've gotten their homemade salsa to go as well, which is as good as any I've tasted in NM. We had heard from a local about this place and made the mistake of not driving all the way into Hurley (only a mile off highway) and mistook a gas station diner that is not even worth mentioning here (neither of us finished or even ate half of our breakfast). We realized we had the wrong place as we were about to head back to Silver City (about 10 mi or 25 min away from the heart of downtown). We decided we were still hungry enough to at least split something and are we glad we did!! Friendly people who work there, spacious yet down home feeling inside and outside seating (we opted for the patio as it was named after) that had a wood fire going and heat lamps so it was truly cozy! Our beef and bean smothered burrito "Christmas" style (both red and green chile) was outstanding. I'll be back to try their chile relleno and carne adovada. Our waitress also mentioned people come from all over for their steak nights every Friday, and their burger menu was impressive. Yum yum!

I am a Best Western's rewards member and the staff recognized it immediately. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The parking is easy and plentiful. The room was clean comfortable, and spacious and had a continental breakfast in the morning it has the usual good stuff of a best western where you make your own waffles and have sausage scrambled egg and fruit things like that I have to say I was very pleased that the attention the staff made to making sure breakfast food was hot plentiful and available. They also suggested a couple of nearby restaurants for both breakfast and supper. I always tip the breakfast person and housekeeping too. It's an old school way of thinking and I hope you will consider adopting it. The room's all the space I needed and a Mini refrigerator, microwave but no coffee maker. What they have now in the breakfast area is a coffee maker that makes espresso... i did a double shot and added some hot water for dark roast americana. Everything was working just fine and very clean. As I said, I was impressed with the staff and their willingness to try to help me in any way that I could. I have stayed here for up to three days while traveling. This most recent was overnight It's a old mining town with lots of cultural assets so I so its worth exploring, If they ever upgrade things i would recommend adding some grab bars even if they didn't one bathroom at a time.\nBecause even average seniors would benefit from grab bars. I'm not talking , totally handicapped accessible , just grab bars.
