I almost always never go over 80-miles/128-kms, which consumes most of the daylight as well my eBatteries strength. Glenwood was at the best stopping point, and LOS OLMOS LODGE has a monopoly on overnighting in the tiny community, so no dickering about the price. I was assigned the "Sundance" cabin, which was perfectly sized for a solo-cyclist like me. Also essential is "free" WiF, especially since I couldn't get the flat screen monitor to function. I bought a few microwaveable items at the gas/convenience store (also owned by the Los Olmos group), a bit pricy but useful in the well-functioning microwave. Some ice was available in the community cente/kitchen/ fridge. The firm bed was welcome; All-in-all, it was pretty nice, worth reserving ahead as no vacancies exist on the weekends. UNTIL midnight, when a raccoon (or some other varmit) began excavating in a crawl space underneath. Despite my ready-to-rest body needing uninterrupted sleep, it would be a few hours before the critter finally slowed and I could do so, too. I really should have gotten some kind of rebate, but just wanted to get gone, continuing my cycle North on US180 toward NM12/Reserve. I certainly had no desire to go "The Catwalk", a prime local attraction a few mile/clicks away--walking require, but I am bicycling! "LOS OLMOS is an OK--and the only place for reservations--to stay. But, whatever you do, stay in any cabin other than SUNDANCE!

Let me start with the unpaved, unkempt 7 mile wash board dirt road. Management as well as…read moremaintenance are slacking to keep this road which leads in & out of the campsite drivable especially with an RV. After assessing my situation of damages visiting Burro homestead cost me $3,000, due to needed an alignment on my coach, and another new water pump, I say another because I had just replaced it, but with all the violent rocking back and forth for 7 miles on an unkempt road at 3-5 MPH it loosened my check valve & I had a busted leaky pex pipe as well. But wait there's alot more, but It's actually so much to write I'll give everyone a ballpark shorter version of the damages. My plastic panels in the cab popped out, the overhead bed came loose, and now I have a squeaky noise coming from somewhere that I cannot identify nor find. I had never had any squeaks nor rattling of any kind until I went to Burro plus to add one of the maintenance guys I think James he offered to see my water pump, but when he came he had a different attitude and didn't want to look at anything puffed up his chest and was so rude to me. I never met a cowboy who was not true to his word I didn't expect him to do any work for free i told him I didn't have cash, but we live in a digital world money transfers every day with a click of a button, I could have paid him with Zelle, Venmo or any other money transfers available. Long story short DO NOT GO TO BURRO HOMESTEAD IN SILVER CITY NM, you will regret it as I did, and the staff seem welcoming, but once they have your money they don't care that's why they expect payment up front booking through the website before you get there, and there are signs stating no refunds because the place is a dumpsite instead of a campsite. To be honest the only thing I enjoyed were the hot showers, the water pressure was excellent, but still earned one star for the damages on my rig.

From the moment we checked in, it was clear this was going to be a special experience. Our casita was immaculate--shiny, spotless, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The full-sized refrigerator and freezer worked like a dream, and all the amenities--from the coffee maker and stove to the AC, TV, and BBQ--were modern and functioned flawlessly. Missy was a standout host, ensuring our stay was effortless and enjoyable. Her warmth and attention to detail made everything feel even more welcoming. The Double TT is teeming with life, from graceful deer to playful squirrels and an array of birds that bring the landscape to life. Whether sipping coffee on the patio or strolling through the property, nature truly takes center stage. Just down the road, the Catwalk Trail offers a one-of-a-kind hiking experience. With stunning views and an unforgettable journey through the canyon, it's a perfect complement to an already fantastic getaway. We arrived expecting a short stay, but the charm, comfort, and beauty of the Double TT made it hard to leave. One is tiny and maybe fits 2 actual adults, except the temperature in the spring is 110-111. That makes it very uncomfortable to sit all the way in. There is a pipe that pipes in cool water if you want it, but even with the thing running full blast, the water will not get below 108. Again, too hot for most people. The second tub fits 8 people although it is quite shallow. The temperature of that one was 102-103, which made it more comfortable to stay in for the entire 45 minute session. Now, here are the reasons why I am only giving the place 3 stars: 1. The place is undergoing major construction projects, resulting in large piles of dirt, yellow police tape, and poor signage, so that people coming to the site have no idea where to check in. To get there, you have to drive down a one-way sand road that goes underneath a railroad trestle. The area is not accessible to emergency vehicles. 2. There is no way to communicate with the person in charge without walking all the way back to the main office. 3. People are not clear on how long their sessions are supposed to be. There is no signage or instructions. The people right before us stayed in the pool for a full hour and then stood around on the deck getting dressed while we were getting in. What should be obvious from what I just said: there is no cleaning of anything between customers. 4. The existing pools have no privacy whatsoever. The owners are in the process of building a lot more pools that also have no privacy whatsoever. 5. The atmosphere surrounding the pools leaves something to be desired; not just the big piles of dirt, but the fact that in the evening you can hear the unskilled musical screamings coming from the Blue Moon bar in Radium. So, not peaceful, although inadvertently hilarious.
