It's been a couple years since I reviewed it or been there so I thought I would update my rewiew…read more Its conveniently located off of highway NM180 east in Silver City. I am a Best Western's rewards member and the staff recognized it immediately. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The parking is easy and plentiful. The room was clean comfortable, and spacious and had a continental breakfast in the morning it has the usual good stuff of a best western where you make your own waffles and have sausage scrambled egg and fruit things like that I have to say I was very pleased that the attention the staff made to making sure breakfast food was hot plentiful and available. They also suggested a couple of nearby restaurants for both breakfast and supper. I always tip the breakfast person and housekeeping too. It's an old school way of thinking and I hope you will consider adopting it. The room's all the space I needed and a Mini refrigerator, microwave but no coffee maker. What they have now in the breakfast area is a coffee maker that makes espresso... i did a double shot and added some hot water for dark roast americana. Everything was working just fine and very clean. As I said, I was impressed with the staff and their willingness to try to help me in any way that I could. I have stayed here for up to three days while traveling. This most recent was overnight It's a old mining town with lots of cultural assets so I so its worth exploring, If they ever upgrade things i would recommend adding some grab bars even if they didn't one bathroom at a time.\nBecause even average seniors would benefit from grab bars. I'm not talking , totally handicapped accessible , just grab bars.

Best Western, You should be embarrassed to have your name on this place. Breakfast is awful. Based…read moreon a typical Best Western chain's breakfast, this is substandard. Hash browns were way undercooked (aka, hash whites). No drinking water. No fruit (apple, banana, orange). Coffee is terrible. Morning check in person was a surly woman who couldn't be bothered. Used the room's safe (NO sign there was a charge). When I checked my bill, I was charged $2.50. ONLY good thing about this place is JAMES. He checked us in the night before. Super nice and helpful.

We did a quick weekend away in Silver and were torn between the Murray and the Palace but…read moreultimately landed on the Palace for two nights. We loved our stay. It's true that the accommodations are older (the sinks are in the room with you, be prepared), but the entire place has a charm that I found really cozy and sweet. Our bed was comfortable although I can't speak for other rooms. There is a bookstore immediately next door owned by a lovely gentleman from Scotland who is very knowledgeable about the building and the city. The breakfast had enough selection for us picky eaters and passed our coffee snob test, and you can't beat the location. While our paths never crossed with the staff for long enough to have a substantial conversation, everyone we met while in Silver was truly wonderful. The parking is street parking but we never had any trouble finding a spot immediately in front of the hotel or at worst beside it on a side street. I did wake up once on our second night to some noise on the street, but that was my only issue the entire time.

Air conditioning barely worked -- it stayed tepid the whole stay despite adjusting the settings. The breakfast area was dirty and didn't feel well-maintained, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly. Service wasn't any better. The receptionist was unfriendly and ignored me when I was checking out. Overall, poor cleanliness and poor service. I won't be returning.

The place is a mix of updated retro style and just kinda old but overall ok. For a cheap motel it's decent. I would stay here again. The staff was friendly except one girl at reception. The bed was comfortable. Lots of contractors staying here which wasnt bad or good but some smoked pot outside at night and just hung out so going outside was a little weird. Overall the motel feels safe though. To sum it up... clean enough, safe enough, good value for the money. I did find a few bugs in the room (spider, roach, etc) but silver city has lots of bugs. Breakfast in the lobby was limited but i enjoyed the coffee and bagel.

Sounded like an older property that had been remodeled and updated, but beyond the pictures you see online it was clear that it wasn't. We had constant trouble with Wi-Fi, was slow when it worked, and it kept dropping out. Mg ac unit was loud and annoying, could barely hear the tv. I had hot water in the morning, but my daughter did not the night before. Shower seemed especially gross. Pictures attached. No one was at the front desk when we checked out, so I was unable to address with him, but they did not respond to any of my communication communications about the property. $170 for one night and there were far better options for the money.
