After checking the map, I decided this would be a good midway stopping point for the night, halfway between LA and my final destination, Portland. Plus at $40 per night it worked for me. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/NtL1BjRPi9XP35AURgTOcg?select=L8TxWiX7EnTAOTyyLYuONw#L8TxWiX7EnTAOTyyLYuONw I stayed here twice, on the way up and the way back down to LA as well. Checking in and out was both easy and painless. Apparently Motel 6 has been remodeling or "refreshing" the rooms at many of their properties, giving them a "new look" with new colors, dark furnishings and fake bamboo laminate floors, etc http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/NtL1BjRPi9XP35AURgTOcg?select=L8TxWiX7EnTAOTyyLYuONw#lrASeinQ8tAPy6GaMccPrA I have to say their "new look" works. It would seem they're trying to include more amenities because my rooms had a small refrigerator and microwave as well http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/NtL1BjRPi9XP35AURgTOcg?select=L8TxWiX7EnTAOTyyLYuONw#lkQkE3zXSOhZeGVMLzQkAg The bed was very, let me repeat, VERY comfortable! It felt like a new mattress and honestly was more comfortable than I expected. The bathroom had been updated as well, with a semi recessed vessel sink, a nice touch http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/NtL1BjRPi9XP35AURgTOcg?select=L8TxWiX7EnTAOTyyLYuONw#R2a-Wr2LNYnrnnfWBf8BDQ Added bonus, they have FREE Wi-FI, SCHWEET! This location has a pool (closed for winter) and a coin-op laundry room is available should you need it http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/NtL1BjRPi9XP35AURgTOcg?select=L8TxWiX7EnTAOTyyLYuONw#KgBVkSkGa2OzChnMnfla8g a nice touch. LOCATION TIP: Use the address "20 Sale Lane" for your navigation. For some reason when I set my NAV for "20 Williams Ave", it took me to a trailer park about 3/4 mile away.

This is hands down the most disgusting room I have ever seen. I actually had to make them give me clean sheets, and that was a struggle. The comforter has holes in it, and so did the sheets. There was hair in the beds. There were tons of bugs in the light fixtures and flies in the room. The ONLY reason we stayed was because of the fires there were no other rooms available. We slept on top of the new sheets and left after a few hours. The only good thing was that the ac worked. Also the fire detector was ripped off the wall.

Part of the security latch was missing, rendering it totally useless.

My husband and I recently checked into the Motel6 location at 20 Williams Ave, Red Bluff, CA 96080.  We often stay at Motel 6 locations when we travel, because the chain is dog-friendly. However, we had never before been to the Red Bluff location. I had made a reservation earlier that day on the Motel 6 website for around $79.99/night. Pretty expensive, but it was a holiday. We arrived late at night. From the moment I walked up to the check-in window, the experience was bad.  The front desk employee - I don't know her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag - was rather gruff and seemed irritated that I was there.  To reiterate, I had booked the room through the Motel6 website, at a rate of around $79.99/night. However, the digital marquee that night advertised the rate at $49.99/night. More on that in a moment. The first room we entered (I don't remember the room #, but it was on the second floor) was a bit worn.  When I used the sink, the water would not drain because the sink stopper was stuck in the down position, and the lever that raises/lowers it (located on the back of the faucet) was missing. I couldn't even pry the stopper up to let the water drain.  Because of this, my husband went back to the front desk to request another room. The same female employee helped him and he said she seemed rather annoyed that he requested another room. While he was in the lobby, a man came in and wanted a room. The employee quoted the man approximately $79.99/night. The man mentioned that the marquee outside was advertising the rate at $49.99/night. The employee then snapped at him about how the rate was higher than the advertised rate because it was a holiday. Isn't that false advertising?  We switched rooms, and the second room was awful.  I think it was room # 231 but I am not sure. The flip-style security latch/bracket on the door was missing a piece, rendering it totally useless. Furthermore, the television had sound but no picture on any of the channels. There were several patch jobs on the walls. The towel holder was mounted very crooked on the bathroom wall. It was *terrible*. The owner / management must have absolutely zero pride in their business. Therefore, we packed our things up AGAIN, checked out, got a refund, and went to another motel who charged the same rate as Motel 6 but was 100 times better.

He was quick so I barely got a picture off. Went into the wall where the molding stopped.

We arrived around 9:00 pm after a long day of driving. Once we got to our room, it was clear the cleaning had not been completed. In the bathroom there was a used washcloth draped over the shampoo dispenser in the shower, a used bar of soap in the soap dish by the sink, the toilet seat was up, napkins on the table by the bed. These things put us on high alert so we checked the bed, where we found hairs on the sheets. We immediately reported it to the front desk, who told us the hotel was full so they couldn't move us. So, we asked for clean bedding so we could change the sheets. After 3 attempts, we got the correct size sheets and were able to sleep there. I made three attempts to talk to the owners/managers, but they did not call back. I then lodged a complaint with Hilton. They contacted the hotel who said they were unwilling to do anything about it. I find it alarming that they are okay with what happened! So, I guess the message is that it's fine when there are no issues but if you have any, don't expect the owners to do anything about it!

We always stay at Holiday inns or Hampton when we travel and there is a level of competence we have become accustomed to that was not provided here. We called ahead to see if they served a gluten free breakfast and they said yes only to find out when we showed up for breakfast with two hungry celiac kids that wasn't the case. We also called to make sure they have a pool because we were traveling with 4 eleven-year-olds and they assured us they had a pool then when we went to go swimming, it was closed for the winter. We asked why they would tell us they had a pool if it was closed and the manager said and I quote "you asked if we have a pool not if we had a pool you can use." Technically he was right but that's kind of a bratty response especially when we're paying hundreds of dollars and we took the time to call ahead and be prepared. My visit…read morehappened during a 105 degree heatwave, and was very happy to discover that the pool was working. I chose this over the nearby Super 8 because of Yelp reviews, and it was sure worth the extra money to stay here. When you come to the main office, you're greeted with fancy pillars, and you'll notice how it doubles as the main breakfast room with lots of seating, a filtered water fountain and... a washer and dryer ($2 for each)? I was assigned Room 119, a rather large room across from the pool area's entrance that featured a king sized bed with lots of pillows. Appliances: When you walk in, you'll instantly notice that you're in a small hallway that leads to the main room to the right, and a small dressing area to the left that's attached to the bathroom. The dressing area includes towel hangers and a bench to change to and from a bathing suit with a locker-like drawer under the bench. The main room includes a 32in TV, mini fridge and microwave. There are also outlets (two standard and USB) and everything works. You are given SD-quality basic DirectTV service that is piped in as normal TV channels, with the first one being a scrolling channel guide. For a city that aims to be the complete opposite of San Francisco, the artwork in the room screamed it. This place is not for the locals. Amenities: One of the things you notice is a welcome binder that is written by the staff. It gives info about places to go in town and a run-down of the amenities, some you don't find in other Days Inn like a fitness room (which I haven't checked this stay) and dog park. Read it if you stay here. The fancy "nameplate shaped" pool is longer than most other motel pools in the area at 12 yards and the depth goes from 3.5 to 6 feet. At night, the lighting is beautiful, with the pool lighting up purple and string lights illuminating the area, I wish the string lights all worked properly. They were also inflatables available, which was a nice addition. I only wish they provided the towels on-site instead of asking at registration. Internet: The passcode you're given is the network key, and there is no captive portal. The internet is cable fast and the signal is strong. Cleanliness: The room was very clean and bugless. I was given two trash cans (one large and small). Unlike the room, the pool area and dog park left a bit more to be desired. Even though there are clean up bags available, there was dog poop laying in one area. I know it's a dog park, but please be a responsible pet owner and clean that up. The pool furniture left my towels smelling like dog as well. Breakfast: Unlike every other Days Inn I've stayed where I was only given coffee, the apple/orange juice dispenser and a cereal bar/muffin, I was treated to a full continental breakfast here. In addition, you have the choice of scrambled eggs, a waffle machine, a selection of fruits, hot and cold cereals (hot in oatmeal packets and cold with a cereal dispenser) and much more. Conclusion: Even though this is a Days Inn, the amenities it offers makes it like a low key La Quinta, but a few things that prevent it from being such. 4.5 stars.

Probably not...but the price was right for three of us to split. For us this trip it's not about the hotels, it's just a place to rest. As long as I don't see bugs or unwanted fluid I'm fine. I ran my blacklight, while my friend sanitized where needed. We didn't hang out coats on the rack because it looked like something splashed all over after I ran the blacklight through it . Bedding had a few stains but at least it didn't look like blood or seminal fluid . So my friends are sleeping, I'm up at after 3am writing this because I can't sleep. I will have to say this place is pretty quiet. At first I was very afraid because upon arrival the train was so loud and we were worried there will be no sleep all night. It's past 3am and I hear a train, but it's not loud at all. I don't hear the neighbors either. So it's nice that the rooms are pretty soundproof. There's a little coffee pot, a couple coffee packs, a mini fridge. We didn't have to use because we have an ice cooler, and a small tv. Paul at the front desk brought us more towels. They provide you with dark towels also to remove your makeup. They charge you extra if your towels are stained. I have blue hair so I bring my own dark towels, and my own pillow cases so I don't stain any hotel beddings. So I shouldn't be charged at checkout. There are plenty of outlets, and usb plug ins for the three of us to charge our devices. Front desk made sure we were on the first floor so we could park right in front. That was very convenient. That's why I give this place a three star instead of a two. If anything changes after checkout I'll be sure to update. The photos I posted aren't mine. Good hot water and pressure. The cabinet under the sink is so old and ugly it's actually MORE FUNNY than problematic. But because of the cabinet I looked more closely at other things. The bathroom door is ugly AND it sticks! There are many things that are old and dated but with all the other hotels full and the HAMPTON Inn charging $155 per night...we felt Grateful to have this room at all. The manager is excellent. Very nice and friendly and helpful. He brought us an extra chair for company. Good small microwave & refrigerator in the room with a freezer we could refreeze things in. Breakfast consisted of a Grab N Go bag. See my picture! Pretty funny. I generally enjoy budget MOM & POP hotels and choose them over these big chains. They often have a homespun charm about them that makes up for things being just plain old. This place has no homespun charm and I don't consider it a budget priced room at $110 per night...but it HAS been kept clean and the beds are comfortable and the heat works! The TV is Spectrum Cable. And REALLY...if you have a lot of stuff to spread out this place is ROOMY and CONVENIENT! They also THANKFULLY INCLUDE A MULTI-PLUG AC OUTLET BY THE BED!
