Went to this restaurant for a dinner with friends, the combination of mussels and gin&tonic seemed fun. We knew it wasn't going to be a cheap meal, but when we looked at the menu we were still surprised - 20€ for 6 oysters, 12€ for a g&t. You'd imagine they would be delicious... the drinks were well made, but the oysters were less than average.
We ordered 3 main dishes with mussels, and they took more than 45 minutes to arrive. Noticing that the restaurant wasn't that full and that people that arrived after us were already being served, we asked the waiter whether our dishes were coming any soon. His answer was that he took the appetizer plate away just 5 minutes before, hence we had no reasons to expect the main dishes to arrive quickly. I mean, despite the questionable logic behind this answer, and despite the fact we had been waiting way longer than 5 minutes - what the hell of answer is that?? You'd get fired from a normal restaurant for giving customers such an attitude!
There probably were some problems in the kitchen that caused our dishes to come close to an hour after we ordered them, and we would have been fine if the staff told us so and made excuse for their rude colleague. But none of that, and of course no discount on our bill. We didn't tip, needless to say.
All in all the food was ok and the mussels portions are big, but the service is pitiful, run by a bunch of moody teenagers. They really gave an example of how not to treat customers. On top of that the restaurant room was dirty and messy, same as our garden table, which we had to clean ourselves from the mayo stains of previous clients. Loevely!
Honestly, spending 100+ € to leave the table pissed off, isn't a great deal. Get some actual staff, not toddlers straight out of high school. read more
