I only Give the 1 star because there isn't a 0 . We had our home build 9 yrs ago and the contractor used Moss window. when I first saw them I thought they loo cheap. Within about 3 yrs a seal had already broken ( being the procrastinator I am) I waited till now to do something about warranty expires next yr. What a huge difference our new Simonton windows by Moss have made. We replaced all 24 windows in our home and WOW! I knew they would be nice, but, we had no idea what a difference we would be enjoying just by looking out our new windows. Everything looks better. My house had those old aluminum, single pane windows that leaked in cold air and shook when I closed the front door. Moss came in and replaced every window including two sliders, one of which they converted from a window into a slider. Moss left ZERO trace they were ever in my house except now I have new, double pane windows that are beautiful inside and out, and insulate my house. Moss is a great company with great products. If you're looking for new windows, this is the guy to get the from. The product is great and so is the service, I can say enough great things about them. We had all the windows and French doors on our house replaced, and it was a great experience. We went with the Simonton daylight max windows since we have a nice view and wanted to maximize it. I had looked at Milgard windows but the frame takes up too much space. I had seen these Simonton ones on some neighbors houses and they looked great so went with them. Mike came over and did a quick measure and got me a quote that day and it was very reasonable. I don't know if I could have done it cheaper had I put them in myself,she a little but honestly the prices were good. He came back to install them and had the windows done in a day and then the doors another day. Very quick process and he was very careful around all the furniture and the house in general not to knock into anything. During the initial measure he said the doors might be an issue because they don't make door frames as large as they did in 1984, so he brought over a contractor to look at the floors and see what he could do once the doors were in. It was really nice of him to go the extra mile to arrange someone to come out and give me an idea of how we could move the threshold and add the baseboards once the doors were in. AMAZING!!!! That is the only way to describe my new windows and slider doors. I absolutely LOVE them. I have waied 6 years to replace my windows and doors and I am happy that I did because that is when I found Moss. Mike and his team are the best! Mike was more than accommodating in meeting me to get measurements for my windows/doors and to install them. It only took a week to get the windows/doors and once they were in, it took less than a day to have 3 windows and 2 sliding doors replaced in my second floor condo. The measuring appointment was quickly and easily scheduled, this took about 30 minutes, and I receive a reasonable quote the next day. In 2008 we purchased our house in Encinitas. It needed a little bit (OK, a lot) of work to make it a home. After having completed the majority of the interior remodeling, we decided to tackle the windows. Mike and his team installed windows throughout my house about a week ago now. I couldn't be happier. From start to finish, including the initial consultation and estimate, these guys were friendly, professional, reliable, and very talented. My new windows are gorgeous, the installation all went according to plan, and the results are noticeable. My heater used to cycle on and off every 20-30 minutes. Now it's about once every 2-3 hours! Sound isolation is a huge plus, and of course they look and feel amazing. Mike's estimate was substantially less expensive than the competition for identical products. They were in and out in 4.5 hours to do every window in my house (ok, granted, that's only 5 windows and a slider, but still!), and they were great about leaving the everything clean and presentable. Moss replaced my 4 sliding glass doors and sliding screen doors at my home across the street from the ocean in La Jolla about 10 yrs ago. I wasn't optimistic that any door would last long in these conditions. But the doors stood up well to the corrosive ocean mist. All are in good condition except that the rollers on one of the screen doors corroded and jammed. When I called Mike at Moss, he instantly arranged for me to have replacements for all 4 screen doors. My wife and I wanted to purchase new windows and sliding-glass doors for our house primarily for the increased energy efficiency -- we wanted the house cooler during the summer months and warmer in the winter. We received a couple of estimates before we called Mike at Moss Replacement Windows. His proposal was by far the best. We liked the Simonton brand, which Mike deals with, much better to the Milgard, which we had seen previously. Plus we liked the fact that Mike would be installing the windows and doors himself.
