After 20 years of less-than-perfect teeth I now can stop covering my mouth when I eat and giving everyone that closed-lip smile. (I even texted my Husband during the appointment telling him that the price was $187. I'll attach the screenshot of our conversation for reference.) To my surprise, that charge only appeared later when I received a bill for $304. When I contacted the office immediately, Stacey was unprofessional, extremely rude, and so dismissive. The lack of accountability and transparency is SHOCKING. She repeatedly deflected the issue by emphasizing my 'limited' insurance coverage in such a condescending & demeaning tone which was irrelevant because insurance was never the issue. The only issue was the verbal quote I was given vs what I was billed. Most concerning, after the dispute was reported - the office responded to the Washington State Attorney General, Stacey lied and presented her version of events that just wasn't true to what actually happened, while also claiming the additional fee had been quoted to ME over the phone before the appointment... First of all, that call was not even with ME. it was with my husband. and no such price was ever given. (I was in the background, listening to their conversation on speaker while tending to my toddler.) Anyway long story short... Despite being CLEAR that I was willing to pay the $187 I was quoted, the office refused to resolve the issue and escalated the balance to collections while it was still in active dispute. This entire situation could have been avoided with honest, upfront pricing and clear communication. It's especially disappointing because Dr. Bowyer - the actual dentist - was great! He was kind & very thorough during my appt! We totally would've made him our family dentist. (I even texted my husband *see screenshot attached* that I liked the office and we could stick to it since we're new to the area.) But unfortunately, the office manager on the other hand needs improvement with communication and how patients are treated. Had I been told my total would be $304, there would have been no issue. Get everything IN WRITING before agreeing to treatment here. As for me, after the office "manager" treated me the way she did & ruining my experience, I will never come back here again.

The doctor repeatedly asked me questions without allowing me to fully respond, and I was not given a clear explanation of what was found on my X-rays. I was then told I needed a root canal with very liexplanation. During the appointment, a bonding material was applied to my teeth without clearly explaining what was being done. It was left so thick that it affected my bite, and they had to have the doctor return to grind it down. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. The office pressured me into additional treatments by claiming I was on the verge of periodontal disease and that I had "come in just in time." This kind of fear-based upselling is deeply unethical. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly, professional receptionist in a beautiful office with a very calming environment. When waited maybe 5 minutes at most before being taken back. The dentist assistants and hygienist were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly we couldn't have felt more at ease. The dentist was also very friendly, professional and knowledgeable, he went over our dental and gum health in detail with recommendations without being "pushy" which we really appreciated. After our exams and cleanings we were able to schedule our next appointments for the following week (I'm still in shock how easy this process was!). I have had cancer twice and need to have teeth pulled, and this has affected me financially and so I have state insurance at this time. I have worked most of my life. Most dental offices I have called recently are rude, judgmental and unprofessional. They need to remember that even basic calls to a dental office are shared with others. Andersen Dental office shared information I needed today, and consequently I am referring others and my son, who just graduated pharmacy school, to Andersen Dental, as a future dental office to go to for their/his own teeth. :) I spoke with front office staff /insurance there and the two people I communicated with on the phone today were totally awesome and made my day. It is never fun to be ill, and Andersen Dental made me feel welcome even though my insurance is not covered at their office. Nice. But my son's insurance will be, and that of others I know. She has some dental anxiety and was tearful before the appointment, but we had a lot of conversation prior about what was going to happen. She did great during the treatment, and the dentist mentioned he was going to work on another area of her mouth. I said to him, "I didn't tell her you would be working on another area. I should probably mention it to her." Anyone with common sense would understand that your kid trusting you is huge when it comes to things like this. I prepared her for what was going to happen at this appointment, and it took some convincing. The dentist just continued on, preparing the other area. I knew my daughter was wondering what was going on, so I said again, "I should probably mention this to her." He pulled his chair away from her, looked at me stunned, and said, "I can't believe I'm stopping this procedure right now to have this conversation!" I told him, "I think you're misunderstanding. I didn't intend for you to stop the procedure; I just need to tell my daughter what's happening." He argued with me and then went completely silent, staring at the ground. I gave him a few seconds until I asked if he was okay. I was honestly worried. He seemed like he was having a breakdown of some sort, and I felt like it was misdirected at me. He said, "I'm just deciding whether to continue this procedure." He said, "Your daughter was close to a panic attack when I came in here, and I wasn't even going to begin!" He then left the room, not even returning to remove her laughing gas mask. The gas was turned off. Thankfully my duaghter had headphones on so she was pretty oblivious this was happening. The MAs apologized profusely and were both so kind. They said they thought he must've misunderstood. When I saw a letter from the dentist's office in the mail, I assumed it was an apology. I assumed he realized how completely unprofessional and disrespectful he was, but now it's my opinion that this is just normal behavior for him! Beware.
