Dr. Schnepper opened her office near my house after I'd already been to the place where "everyone" from my kid's school sent their kids for braces but on a whim I thought I'd stop in to verify my suspicion that all orthodontist were the same. Well you know what they say about making assumptions!!! The price was noticeably lower, and the environment was night and day. Rather than a traditional stiff waiting room with nothing but "old" people's magazines, I walked into an art studio/mind engagement center. Not that we ever waited long, but our whole family would engage ourselves in creating drawings or interacting with one of the many brain challenging items out front if we had a wait at all. Oh wait this is supposed to be about the orthodontia right? My daughter's teeth look awesome. Her braces are now off and she is onto the retainer phase. We love the entire staff, Dr. Schnepper, the lady checking us in, the lady taking our money and setting appointments and all the ladies in the back. They are all very personal, willing to share a joke, chat about college football or just ask about what's going on in school. But most importantly they walk you through the process with great professionalism and a smile. And if something isn't quite right with the teeth/braces, they are there to help such as a poky wire or a popped bracket due to an item eaten on the no, no list. :-) Our dentist is next door, well down the hall actually. So they always coordinated the appointments so that the wire could be removed before cleanings and put back in after. What a great service!!! My daughter followed all the instructions and was able to get her braces off a few months ahead of time. In fact they even called us a week ahead of her scheduled removal appointment due to someone else's cancellation to see if we wanted to get them off a week earlier. Needless to say, my daughter was all for that. We have loved our experience with Dr. Schnepper and cannot say enough to recommend her. To that end, our neighbor is using her as well on our direct recommendation. read more

I really like our experience with Dr. Schneppers office. My daughter has been a patient now for over a year, so we are half way through the whole braces experience. We always get good service. Never any problems with scheduling. They even work with me to schedule appointments around our regular dentist appointments, I thought that was awesome. I personally ask a lot of questions about just everything and all the staff are so nice and easy to approach. They always make it all make sense. I also like Dr. Schenpper, she is very soft spoken, but really knows her stuff and is also very nice. Besides just the normal discomfort my daughter goes through that comes with having braces, she is also very happy and says they are gentle and nice too. We also love the new location, at least for us personally it is closer to home. I also like all the busy stuff they have in the waiting room that keeps my 13 yr old busy while we wait our turn. I think that whole wall is a great idea! In just one year I can't believe the differance with my daughters teeth. We started with Dr. Schnepper a couple of years ago, just as she was beginning her practice in Vancouver. We had left another local orthodontist who was very good, but seemed to be more interested in growing his practice than in delivering personalized service. We found the opposite to be true with Dr. Schnepper. Even though she was just beginning in Vancouver, we received personalized and caring service. She was careful to explain her fees and gave us options as we moved through the course of treatment. She remained the expert, but I felt as if I had a role to play in managing the process. At each visit, she would sit with us and explain where we were and what she recommended. I found her to be personally caring as well as extremely capable. The end result for our family was two new beautiful smiles and perfectly functioning teeth for life. I could not have been more satisfied. read more

Truly an exceptional orthodontist and staff! Dr. Schnepper has given my daughter a confidence now as she smiles more now that she has gotten her braces. What a change in my daughter's smile and with her new confidence it is a blessing to know that her future is bright with a wonderful smile! Not to mention the name The Modern Orthodontist is true being that of the highest technology in braces and 3D x-rays and because of the high tech braces, our visits are every 8 weeks which is great for a busy mom like myself. The office is state of the art, and I really mean "Art" as there is a display of art work throughout the office by local artists in the area, and my kids love to express their art work as there are lots of different activities in the waiting room. All of my interactions with Dr. Gretchen Schnepper and her staff have been wonderful! She is a complete professional. She is not only dedicated to the well being of her patients, she is also dedicated to the community as a whole. She even has local art in her office! Everyone who is interested in a beautiful straight smile should check her out! I was disappointed to read the other reviews - I know that it is hard when a new Doctor takes over...but these reviews seemed rough. I know that it was really difficult for all of the patients when Dr. Curley passed away...but I think Dr. Schnepper has done an incredible job of taking care of Dr. Curley's patients and building her own office. I can't say enough about Gretchen Schnepper and her team of wonderful assistants. From day one they have made my children feel confident during this not so fun part of being a kid. Corbett first met Dr. Schnepper when he had baby front teeth in the 6th grade along with a couple extra set hiding. After 3 surgical procedures, wires, chain, bands, cranks, lots of uncomfortable days the time came December 6 2016 when I saw for the first time my sons front teeth without a piece of metal on them. He was beyond thrilled and because of the encouragement from everyone at the Modern Orthodontist he was able to get his braces off a month early. Thank you ladies for giving my baby his smile. I'm really surprised by the negative comment. We have twin boys who received braces from Dr. Curley over 2 1/2 years ago and transitioned to Dr. Schnepper. We have not experienced any sort of issue what-so-ever since the transition over a year ago. I must say, we were a bit concerned when Dr. Schnepper took over Dr. Curley's practice but we have been completely statisfied with the change. Almost the entire staff stayed, making the transition easy and our experience has been wonderful. They are all such caring people, offer excellent professional care and the new office is fantastic. Dr. Gretchen Schnepper is an amazing orthodontist who has the most beautiful office in the world. Her artistic and gentle way of being have influenced her treatment, her interactions with her patient families, and her environment.
