Walker removed the trans, replaced the flywheel, serviced the transmission and re-installed it. I thought the price was fair considering the amount of labor required, and we've now driven many thousands of miles with no issues whatsoever. No complaints.

With the exception of this, the car started normally and was working fine. After they "fixed" the transmission, I get a car back that was screaming with pinging sounds from the engine. They worker, assured me that it was fine and maybe I needed a timing chain. (Ford Explorer). Long story short, I took the car to Ford and was told my engine was shot. Walker Transmission told me to bring it back to them so they will take a look. Not only did I have to keep calling for a status but come to learn that they never even looked at my car for fixing over a six month span. When I asked about a partial refund of the 1400 I'd spent, I was given every excuse in the book as to why they couldn't do that and they'd try to fix it. At any rate, they eventually agreed to buy the car from me for a set price and they reneged on that as well. Well, I finally had the car sold to a junk yard in April almost a year since this ordeal began. My advice, if you want sub-par service and not upfront and sincere customer service then Walker Transmission should be your place of business. Good luck!!!

In less than an hour after leaving the vehicle with them for their diagnosis, they called to say that the fluid level was low and the fluid pan gasket needed replacing, as did the fluid filter/screen. So, over the phone, I approved the repair work to be done. The next day, not only was the leak back, but it was 20-30 times worse -- not mere DROPS, as it was when taken in for the assessment/repair. The fluid is POURING onto our garage floor. So, I returned the car, and they replaced the "replaced gasket" with a new gasket, and I took the car home. Yep, you guessed it! A couple of days later, the leak is back and worse, now, than it was after the initial repair. As well, their front desk associate -- Cameron, who is the son of the owner -- gave me grief when I expressed my disappointment in their, would let me talk by talking over me. Then I encouraged him to let me speak, if I was to avoid suing them. He then unleashed a tirade of screams, using that narcissistic challenge of, "Do you know who you're talking to?!!! And then hung up on me. I immediately called back, and the owner had been brought to the phone and tried to explain...EXCUSE their shoddy work. First, he thought I was completely ignorant of car repair, not knowing that I'd grown up on a farm, helping my dad repair and retool LOTS of major machinery components, INCLUDING TRANSMISSIONS, manual mind you. Ultimately, I had to FORCE them to remove some of the fluid, they had refilled the fluid level way, WAY, WAYYYYYY beyond the FULL notch on the fluid check dipstick. Since then, the leak essentially has disappeared; however, here's the remaining issue, which I didn't mention, given the fundamental failure to resolve the leak. Not only did leak issue worsen on order of magnitude, but so did the transmission slippage -- now not just in DRIVE, but also in SECOND gear, failing to "pull" from a dead standstill, but will kick in after starting the car in LOW, then shifting upward and settling in DRIVE. Needless to say, HELL will receive a ton of fur coat shipments before I'd EVER take my care back to these guys. And, now, YOU stand forewarned. I'd been referred to them by SIGNATURE Auto Repair, who's just next door, literally, as THEY don't do transmission work. Ironically, neither does this MR. TRANSMISSION. Be warned...or be incalculably sorry!!!

Based on this shop's ATRA membership and numerous positive customer reviews, I visited the shop. The shop was very busy, but Paul took time to meet with me. After listening to a description of my truck's symptoms, Paul said it may or may not be the transmission, but he'd need to see the truck to know for sure. I had the truck towed to Paul's shop the next day and, within two hours of delivery, Paul called to advise that the transmission was fine, but the engine had a (suspected fuel-related) issue. Paul kindly recommended a nearby diesel repair shop (Lead Foot Diesel Performance) and he even scheduled a tow for my truck. Based on my experience with Paul, his shop would be my destination for any future transmission repairs. P.S., Thanks to Paul for recommending Lead Foot Diesel Performance - they quickly diagnosed and repaired a fuel-related issue and had me back on the road in one day.
