Pokémon XP was a celebration of all things Pokémon and was held on August 28-30, 2026, primarily at Moscone Center. Of the 130,000+ hopefuls that applied, about 50,000 were selected via lottery to attend. Had folks known just how jam-packed and varied the activities were, the interest list might very well have ballooned even further. While featuring the usual competitive circuit for the games and TCG, guests were treated to an array of vendors collaborating with the brand, such as Bandai, Funko, Lego, Ravensburger, and Sideshow, flexing their interpretations of collectible figurines, sculptures, and other artistic pieces. The venue was able to hold these activities and more or less handled the sea of people queueing up for goods and merch. Stages were set for live musical performances featuring dancers and video montages from Gameboy days to the upcoming Switch 2 exclusive. Interviews conducted with creators, such as illustrators and composers, who are just as much a fan of the brand as the audience amused me to no end. Decorations with small, but significant details made the temporary theme park a fully realized work of art. To an extent, the whole of San Francisco was brought in, with landmarks such as Chinatown's dragon gate, Transamerica Pyramid, and Coit Tower highlighted in a few side quests. However, the event was not without criticism. Waiting three hours for shopping at the store and getting notifications of canceled events due to the overwhelming response of collecting the Umbreon and Greninja pins meant the event staff has a few lessons to learn for next year's festivities in terms of limited stocked items and managing expectations. As this was Pokémon's 30th anniversary, my overall response to this past weekend was that of delight and nostalgia. Here's to another 30 years! read more

Well well,that football season came and went pretty fast,though my Cowboys and my Raiders did not do very well this season,it was a really fun season full of many ups and downs.All we have left is the big game,the Super Bowl-the hated Patriots get to play the Seahawks-the one silver lining left for this season is that the game happens to be in the Bay Area this year-so with that many really fun events are happening all over the Bay Area,including many concerts,many parties but I truly believe the crown jewel of the entire week besides the big game is the Super Bowl Fan Experience which is occurring this year at the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco. This event goes from Tuesday February 3rd thru Saturday February 7th most days from 3p-10p though on Saturday the event opens at 10am. Tickets for this event go from $40-$50 depending on the day but discount tickets are available for seniors and I think kids 12 and under are either free or drastically discounted. I came to this event from Sacramento,so as usual when I come to SF,I drove into the east bay and took BART into the city then walked about a half a mile from the Montgomery Street BART station to Moscone Center-it's a breeze to be honest with you. It's pretty easy to get into this event but they do have a no outside food or drink policy and a clear bag policy-so got to plan ahead a bit on that. Once inside the event,it's really really fun.Its truly Comic-Con for NFL fans like myself.There is so much to see,so much to do.Their are NFL players set up all over the venue that the fans have the opportunity to take pictures with,there are fun exhibits to look at featuring so many fun things like Super Bowl trophies to various Super Bowl rings,I seen exhibits featuring current player lockers featuring their game-day equipment,so much random football art-so much fun stuff. Another fun thing they had was ,though mostly for kids is you can run 40 yard dash or can do vertical jumps or fake bench presses,basically a lot of the things players do at NFL combines,the highlight for this trip was my 73 year old mother trying to kick a field goal on a small field they have setup-it's lots of fun for everyone who participates. In closing,I would say this is truly such a fun event for the entire family as long as your even slightly an NFL fan-I really enjoyed it as the NFL truly knows how to put on a solid show-it was so fun,I think I'm going back on Friday-see ya there. read more

My daughter and I went to the NFL experience where we had a blast. There's something for everyone places for the kids to get to interact with obstacle courses and adults get to relive football history. If you ever wanted to see if you could kick a field goal there's an area for that as well. There is so much to do there's no way you could be bored tired yes. But I would advise eating ahead of time and remember to bring your clear bags for check. The only drawback of the whole thing is the food and beverage prices were insanely expensive so if you wanna go have lunch or dinner afterwards, save your money and wait till then. read more

Oh man, what a nightmare. My son came to retake the SAT and I don't know if they weren't expecting the drain on bandwidth but sections of the halls were started an hour or 90 minutes late into the SAT as they waited for Moscone to restore WiFi. Over 4,000 students showed up to test and the absolute traffic crawl towards Moscone had kids jumping out with backpacks or laptops and nervous parents like me telling them to "follow the crowd" to cut through to the Convention Center. A nervous way to start a test day at 7:15am on Saturday morning. If you have a choice, I would not recommend Moscone as an SAT testing spot. Bad. read more

I was recently at the Moscone Center for the Databricks Data + AI Summit and spent nearly a week onsite as part of the global event marketing team. So let's just say I got to know the space pretty well. The convention center spans three buildings: South, North, and West. South and North are connected underground, which made it easy to move between them. West is just a short walk down the street. With 22,000+ attendees, we also used nearby hotels for additional event space, and having so many properties close by made that simple. The one area that could use improvement is the food. As staff working long hours, we had meals provided throughout the day and honestly, they were pretty underwhelming. Aside from that, no real complaints. It's a solid venue for large-scale events. read more

I've been here for Dreamforce, and it can feel like Disneyland navigating all the places to go. This was my first time ever at the Moscone center, and I had no idea how huge it was! I had only been to the Metreon, which is around the corner, but goodness!! I was amazed with how many booths were set up inside and how the employees were able to set up a real Basketball court and stadium with bleacher seats so everybody could see!! Some of the booths like the Michela ultra booth had an upstairs area also!! I have no idea how hide the ceiling was, but it was huge inside!! Not to mention how many people were there, but there wasn't any trash anywhere!! So the employees that were hired were really on their toes about keeping everything clean and organized!! I was very impressed with how friendly all the staff were at each of the booths as well as the actual Moscone Center security and their understanding of people getting lost in going in the wrong places. Lol I liked how many restrooms they had specially in the women's area!! Most women's restrooms are only a couple and we're always waiting in line for a while. There were at least three sets of bathrooms with maybe 10 stalls inside each bathroom!! I just wish there were more food vendors or maybe a mini food truck or something inside that had more Things to offer! I was very impressed with the NBA crossover event that was also set up here!! read more

We came to the Moscone Center to watch a Chinese 9-Man Volleyball Tournament. Amazing venue that accommodated a full tournament over 1600+ participants. Plenty of space, chairs, restrooms, food venue, etc. Highlight was seeing Justine Wong-Orantes (Olympic Gold Medalist for Team USA) in action in person! Amazing! read more

Went to the NFL experience during Super Bowl week at the Moscone center. Not sure what to expect since I haven't been to these events before but it was definitely a good time. Exhibits, activities, and freebies were all good. The little guy had a good time and I thought the activities for the kids were very well run. Also definitely good value for the price. I personally thought the NFL APP could have been better, didn't add enough, or was maybe even unnecessary - but that's probably nitpicking. Other than that - not sure if there was bag storage in the area, so we made some arrangements for that beforehand just in case (I used Bounce, there's a Soma Wines very close by that can store bags / luggage). Moscone Center is one of the most impressive venue spaces I've ever been in. I came for the 2024 Joint Mathematics Meeting which is the largest gathering of mathematicians in the world - there were over 5,500 attendees this year and we fit in the space surprisingly comfortably. I attend a lot of conferences and was blown away by the size, cleanliness, organization, and staff here! I can only imagine how much it must take to put together a conference of that magnitude - truly impressive. The Moscone Center consists of 3 large buildings: Moscone Center South (the largest), Moscone Center North (smaller and across the street, joined by a pedestrian bridge), and Moscone Center West. It boasts 1.5 MILLION square feet of exhibit hall space and up to 106 meeting rooms! Massive! The location is fantastic as well - right in the thick of DTSF tourist areas between Mission & Folsom streets. Lots of hotels, eateries, and attractions in the surrounding areas. I stayed at a Marriott right across the street which was next to the SF MOMA and had a great visit - in spite of some of the sketchy parts of the area (keep your wits about you and be vigilant and street savvy). In Moscone Center South, I attended a huge welcome reception in the gigantic downstairs exhibit hall and several lectures in their massive meeting rooms. Again, the layout, organization, and prep were amazing. We were all very comfortable and moved in and out of the events seamlessly. I also attended a few presentations in Moscone Center North - it's much smaller and less dramatic than the South building but still worked well for these smaller events. Moscone Center South also had a little coffee stand with light eats and various drinks. They serve Peet's coffee but it comes from a preprogrammed machine the workers use by just pushing a button for whatever you ordered so it isn't a true "coffee shop" experience. It was ok and had reasonable prices. I didn't have a car but I reckon the biggest challenge here would be parking. There is none on site - it's all paid parking in the surrounding area - prices can be exorbitant and the surrounding area is pretty sketchy so I wouldn't recommend it. Overall this was a fantastic venue for a massive conference and I can recommend the Moscone Center with all confidence! read more

Really cool conference center. On the lower level, the pavilion of Moscone South is connected to Moscone north. Many large lecture rooms for keynotes. navigating the space can feel like a maze, the wayfinders/brand ambassadors are the real rockstars for directing guests to get where they need to be. Moscone West is also a beautiful space. I would want to come visit another conference here. read more

This place is a perfect conference space. Very centrally located and easy to get to. The spaces are clean and kept up well, the staff is great and don't seem to mind answering questions. Everything needed to put on a real show is available and ready to go, including security. It may be a little overwhelming at first but by day two I knew where I was going. read more

Really clean place with plenty of facilities wherever you need it. It's the perfect venue for conventions. Was here for RSAC working a booth and it defintiely accommodates! Parking is easy enough, obviously it's better to take their shuttles, etc so you don't have to manage sf parking but the garages are great! The museum parking is what I chose using spot hero and it was seamless. Just leaving when the conference is over is always hectic. Just like any event but not as bad as a giants game. Overall the place never felt stuffy and it is just so vast! read more

Went back to Moscone for the all star game expo...The center is always renovated and a big building for conventions...Hawaii asks if you are going to a convention...also Los Angeles and Las Vegas..they made convention centers for expos long time since 1970...I also went to Fan Expo recently...fan expos for the kids from 1980s...the convention center is easy to find near Union Square Soma...the expos aren't too expensive($50). Conventions are part of life in these places...glad I could find fun expos...hope to attend more. read more

Went here for a massive conference, and parts of this place were quite impressive, and other aspects... not so much. The area that was used for the main stage of the event was mind bogglingly huge. It was quite impressive. On the flip side, though... the bathrooms were very few in number, and shockingly small for a venue that can host an enormous amount of people. It kind of depends on how the organizers of an event use the space. So, your mileage may vary. read more

I attended the conference here and let's say this place is huge! I would say the conference rooms were very cold. Highly recommend wearing long sleeves or bringing a jacket. It's near a lot of hotels that are easy walking distance. I will say the company throwing the conference had a lot of security at this place, the hotels and as you were walking to and from. read more

I don't really understand what Moscone Center is, and I don't like it. My dislike for Moscone Center isn't due mainly to my lack of understanding. My lack of understanding comes more from the fact that there seem to be 783 different places within a block of here with a name that includes Moscone, Yerba Buena, or both. So I don't like Moscone Center, because I don't like the namby-pambiness of the civic leaders and groups that don't understand that adding names to existing names and letters to existing acronyms isn't more inclusive; it's more confusing. The point of language is to clarify, and clarification comprises separating. This is a really important point that is misunderstood by a lot of well meaning people right now. So Moscone Center gets one star, but that Keith Haring statue out front? That gets at least four stars. Throw in a dash of misdirected cardinal directions, and two stars it is! read more

Wow. This is a breathtaking part of the city. It's so beautiful. As you walk up there is a huge opening between the two centers where the view is priceless. Building surrounding you with their awesome architecture. The inside of each building is cutting edge. Very open though , so if you are afraid of heights, not really gonna be your scene. With elevators and escalators taking you where to go it is almost artistic in its design.. The conference rooms in all of these building are huge! I came here for Dreamforce and I was not disappointed. The staff was hilarious. I had a lot of fun. read more

** The following review reflects my experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. ** Although I've been to the various venues of the Moscone Center over the years for a variety of professional and personal reasons, I didn't see any reason to review it. Until now. I'm just grateful it provided the cavernous underground bunker at the foundation of Moscone South allowed the city to conduct safe and efficient COVID-19 vaccinations for all of us in the same state of need. I went here for the first Covid vaccine and it is extremely well organized, efficient and clean. I was in and out in 30 minutes or less. They use online registration and you sign in up front electronically. They direct hundreds of people at a time through the process. I did very little waiting. Everyone was professional and helpful. If you are looking for a vaccination site, I highly recommend this place. Multiple signs are up in many different languages. Everything is clearly marked and explained. They are cleaning constantly. They have the Pfizer vaccine now. read more

I went for my second vaccination shot today and I can't say enough good things about the process. It continues to be orderly, well run, organized and seemless. Thank you San Francisco, Moscone Center, the sponsors, and especially the staff who are doing an exceptional job. Everyone was pleasant and cheerful, upbeat with uplifting music in the background. Again, as in my first visit, I did not wait at all, walked right through the entire process and sat at the end for the fifteen minute wait period. I had no pain or discomfort at all, and people do come around to check on you. When I arrived they took my photograph and I had to show my QR code, ID and the vaccination card I received last time. I also appreciated that they sent me a text message the day before as a reminder and confirming my appointment. It all went so smoothly and I was actually done and out before my scheduled appointment time since I arrived early. I definitely recommend the experience of coming here for vaccinations. read more

Don't know how many times I've been to the Moscone Center. Back when I lived in the City and most recently - FanExpo San Francisco. I don't care for the parking. That's about the only gripe I have about this venue. If Valet is offered, I've never seen signs of that service. But know that I've never asked. Anyway, on the to the venue. It's conveniently located if you're taking public transportation. Rideshare should be easy if the drivers don't mind dealing with the traffic build up certain times of day or if there's an event. And it's located within walking distance of public transportation, places to eat and drink. The facilities are clean, to include the bathrooms. Stocked too. I can't speak to whether the people I saw working during the events are Moscone staff or if their vendors hired on by the event coordinators - but I've never had an issue with staff at all. They were all friendly and helpful. read more

**November 2022: Saturday Visit** I came here for Fan Expo SF over Thanksgiving Break. It was my first bay area convention that I attended and it was a solid experience. I think the actual event was at the Moscone Center West and they used up the three floors. It's a clean center and had multiple bathroom stalls. The panel rooms had ample seats and lighting was good.The one thing that makes this a 4 star instead of a 5 is the air circulation. It was somewhat stale, which made me feel lightheaded a couple of times. read more

I was there for the fanexpo. The venue is amazing. It is spatial with great quality of facilities. The light is a bit too dark with the grey-ish wall, and make the scene a bit sad. Overall, I like this venue a lot. I wish I will go to more conferences here. read more

Nothing could have prepared me for the massive event that they call Dreamforce. It was insane! But this review is for the venue, not the conference itself. The venue is large. No, it's massive. When I visited, I was one of 41,000 attendees. Yes, it was crowded. But it worked. There is good signage explaining where to go. And plenty of bathrooms. I didn't have to deal with parking, since I used rideshare, but I never really saw a parking lot. I was also told that this isn't in the best part of town, although I never felt unsafe. There was lots of security for our event. read more

I have only been to Moscone center for conferences and trade-shows like Salesforce's Dreamforce and 1 other conference. The Moscone center is massive. There are several parts including West, South, North, etc. It takes some time to get from 1 hall to the other so keep that in mind if you only have 10 minutes to run to a different part of the center. I have been to Dreamforce 5 times, and every time the Moscone center is clean, well organized, well lit, and well set up to handle the learning sessions, vendor areas, demo areas, key note speeches, etc. I have never had an issue and I am glad that I spend a majority of my time there. It does make it convenient that the street that runs between the buildings is shut down for Dreamforce so we can walk between the different buildings. There are also some ways to get to the other buildings under the ground. read more

Vaccination: Moscone South Entrance Took my parents here twice for their 2 doses of vaccination. Easily found this place following map instructions to the given address. I recommend using a navigator as downtown is always confusing with all those one way traffic. If you have a handicap placard, I highly recommend driving here as there is an entire block of handicap spaces right up the front with HIGH turn over rates. Otherwise, I'd recommend drop off/ pick up sorta thing. They have a section on this street to pull in to drop the person right at the front. Once you walk to the entrance there are signs at the lines with a time. Go in the line with your appointment time. If you missed it, just tell a staff, & they will guide you in where you immediately have your tempurature taken & hands sanitized. Then they guide you to a booth to get checked in with your scan barcode. The staff will then direct you to go downstairs via escalator or to one of the main floor rooms to get vaccinated. I believe their entire staff here are all from Kaiser Permanente. If you're lucky like my parents, you'll get someone that injects so skillfully it doesn't hurt. Pro tip: 1) if you had lymph-nodes removed, choose the side YOU HAVE lymph nodes to inject. Otherwise, choose the arm you DON'T sleep on! 2) if you're lucky, they can do it without pinching your arm muscle, be sure to RELAX your arm straight hanging by your side and DO NOT flex any muscle or move. Makes a huge difference with the pain. When the shot is done, they'll have you sit 15-20 mins in the wAiting area. If you have allergies, or just don't feel comfortable about the shot, feel free to stay longer. You can let them know if they ask, but they likely won't ask. Ive seen a doctor walk around the seated area to scout for any problems. In general, they have a very good setup here. 5 stars from our experience here! Second covid shot. Moscone Center Covid shot staff continue to be very well organized. I noticed the 9:30 appointments were all inside at 9:30. Our appointment was at 9:45 and we were out of there at 10:08. That included the 15 min waiting time. Get your shot. Nice friendly staff. Everything is clearly marked in multiple languages. I am impressed! And MUNI is free to and from your vaccination. What's not to like! read more
