Came here for an impromptu weekend trip with my boyfriend. We were impressed with the location of the hotel as it was nearby things we were wanting to go to (Bar Sprezzatura, Ferry Building, Kokkari, etc). We opted not to do valet as it was fairly easy to find street parking that was free on the Sunday we were there which was perfect and a lot cheaper. The room itself really impressed both of us. It felt extremely homey and luxurious for the city. The bed and furniture were all very comfortable. We loved the many options for lighting in the room and it helped build up the ambiance. There were two issues we had with this hotel. The biggest issue we had with this place was our room was right off the elevators and we could hear them running all night. Our sleep was maybe slightly disrupted, but if you were a heavy sleeper, it shouldn't be an issue. The other issue I had was that they don't provide complementary waters in the room. I understand, even as I live in California that we are trying to conserve water, but this time we forgot our water bottles at home. While they do have water stations on the floor that we were staying on, it would've been nice to have had a complementary bottle that we could've refilled ourselves as well.

LOVED this hotel and the location was so convenient with A LOT of stuff being walking distance. The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. The valet guys were on it every single time with everyone they interacted with. The hotel beds were comfy and the room was very clean. They even gave us a complimentary 2pm check out which was MUCH appreciated. We will be back again!

Pretty hotel in a convenient location of San Francisco. It's in financial district and you can easily walk up to Chinatown or walk down to the Embarcadero. I checked in at 12pm and there was a room available for me on the 10th floor. The room was very clean and nicely organized. They have a water station outside my room with a pitcher provided to fill up water. The drinks at the bar were memorable and unique. This hotel was perfect for my staycation to refresh my mind.

The perfect spot for a nice bite and drinks! My homegirl and I came here for a nice dinner and drinks. We really enjoyed the beautiful decor as well as the friendly and attentive staff.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! The architecture and interior design are stunning, and our room was incredibly comfortable, especially the bed and pillows. The entire staff provided exceptional hospitality. Housekeeping was highly attentive, and when we had a minor issue with our TV, an engineer arrived instantly to resolve it. The location is perfect--an easy, seamless walk to the Ferry Building. The food was also fantastic. This is officially our new favorite hotel in San Francisco!

Beautiful hotel great location. It has a very elevated feel without being stuffy. Doorman/Valet were awesome. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. My room was huge and had a great view. Weather was crazy but you wouldn't know it because the interior is so cozy and comfortable. The morning cafe was a great spot to get a caffeine fix. Gym is well equipped and spacious. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Formerly Le Meridien, the Jay is one of the more recently renovated hotels in the financial / Chinatown district in San Francisco. Pros Feels new, friendly staff, clean Cons Neighborhood is dead on the weekends and evenings, lobby is on the 3rd floor, room service is not always available (which is a bummer since the options are limited in the neighborhood)

We enjoyed our stay at the Jay! The location is excellent, especially for those who want to explore the city (In the financial district, close to the piers, North Beach, and Chinatown). Check-in was easy, but it is not on the ground floor, so guests would have to take the elevator to check in. The rooms are pretty spacious, and we even got a view of the bridge! Room service was available for breakfast and throughout the day - we checked in around 2pm and were able to order room service. I also enjoyed the room service breakfast - the banana bread was my favorite. Overall, a good pick for a hotel in the city!

Who works on an elevator when guests are trying to sleep? At least wait until midday?

Stayed Friday-Monday. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, and touches like filtered water stations on every floor and Fellow Stagg kettles in-room are great additions. However, the bathroom experience was disappointing: very low shower water pressure and a long delay before temperature changes took effect after adjusting the handle. Operationally, service fell short of a 4‑star standard. After reporting the shower issues, I was told engineering would look into it, but I never received any follow‑up. Early‑morning elevator maintenance noise for over an hour came through the walls and woke us; again, no response to messages or calls until I went down to the desk in person. The manager, Tim, eventually offered 20,000 points, which I appreciated. At checkout, when I mentioned the stay was just okay for a 4‑star, the front desk agent shrugged and said, "yeah that's how the elevator is," which was disappointing. Like it's something I'm supposed to just deal with? Bottom line: The physical hotel and rooms are nice, but operations and staff responsiveness need a tune‑up for the price point. Won't be returning.

The Jay is a great addition to the hotel options in this area. I loved it and will definitely return when visiting San Francisco. It was all the things I love......very clean, modern, and the front desk team was very helpful and friendly. The room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. They also offer free laundering for 3 pieces of gym clothes each day, which is such a nice perk. My clothes were picked up around 9 am. They were delivered back to my room by 4 pm clean and folded. My only complaint was room service not being very good. I tried the vicchyssoise soup and fried chicken. Neither were great.

We haven't stayed here since it was the Le Meridien. They did a lovely job with the remodel. I would say our only complaint was the shower which only had a half door so it is quite cold when showering. The gym is well equipped and has peloton bikes.

I had an amazing five night stay at The Jay. I splurged on the valet service, which is a little steep even for SF, but the in and out privileges made things convenient; I'd recommend it if you are planning on coming back to the hotel to rest and freshen up before heading out again. Otherwise, there's a garage across the street. As soon as I arrived I was given a warm welcome, and the staff helped me with luggage and settling in, so everything went off without a hitch. I only have vague memories of staying at Le Meridian, but the renovated Jay is much superior. My room felt new and was very clean and tidy; I loved the modern decor and the natural wood accents, which actually made the room look/feel a lot like my house. One of the better fitness centers I've seen, too. It could really use a barbell and plates for bench press, but there were dumbbells (which only went up to 50lbs, but eh, good enough). There's a bowl of apples that I appreciated! Being open 24 hours was also nice, since your schedule isn't going to be very regular when you're traveling. I'm going to give four stars just because of one little thing-- There's no microwave anywhere! I don't necessarily expect one in the room (though this isn't even uncommon), but a communal one would have been nice. I had a ton of leftovers over the course of a five night stay!

I have stayed at many hotels in San Francisco. Compared to other marriot hotels in SF that I've stayed at such as the The W and the JW Marriot, this ONE IS THE ABSULOTE BEST HOTEL. I think it may be in fact my new favorite hotel besides the Four Seasons. The hotel is 8 months old and the hotel felt new. From valet to check in, everything including the service I recieved was exceptional. Since it was my birthday they upgrade me from a standard king room with city view to an executive king with bay view and that room was incredible!!!!! It made my birthday extra special and it made me so happy to just be in the room. The interior design was amazing. I couldn't get over how NICE the room was. Considering it is SF, the room was very spacious. The glass windows were a nice touch and the view was incredible. Overall for the $230 I paid for the night, WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY. I think I may have found my new go to hotel in SF. The bar was awesome. It was busy for a Friday but that was expected. We sat at the bar where we found Port wine on the wine menu, it made my night. We took up a couple glasses of wine up to our room where we enjoyed the view and my birthday the rest of the evening. Valet will cost you $90, which is very price but that's SF for you. There are other parking garages within blocks for $38-$48 bucks so just a FYI if your looking to save some money. A BIG THANK YOU to the Jay for the hospitality. Can't wait to come stay here again. I'm a true fan of this Autogrpah Collection hotel. 10/10 if you ask me, come stay here if you haven't already.

The check-in process was smooth. The front desk was very helpful in getting us in and filling out a card authorization form. We were surprised by the valet price however - $90 is definitely high. There is no self parking but the prices for the lots nearby are just as high, if not higher for overnight. We really enjoyed our room. It is definitely not the most spacious but felt quite luxurious. We booked a double queen room and were placed in Rm 920. There was limited walking space around the ends of the beds and desk. There was a beautiful view of the courtyard and city. I love that the room was very well-lit. There is ambient lighting and brighter lights you can turn on next to the beds. My friends and I loved the window that separated the bathroom from the sleeping space. It was quite comical and made getting ready for a night out very fun. There blinds for both the bathroom window and outside window were motorized which was a nice touch. The beds were pretty comfortable but nothing too special - I appreciate them having a bunch of pillows. The mini fridge and coffee bar felt pretty luxe and were much fancier than those are other hotels I've stayed at. There were plenty of outlets throughout the room and next to the beds. The whole vibe of the hotel feels very sleek and modern. The hallways are lit with a ambient blue. The inside of the elevators are themed which is super cute for pics. The gym is very nice too, loaded with more than your typical treadmill and elliptical. The lobby felt clean and had little robot things scooting around that apparently are used for room service. I would definitely stay here again so I can explore what I didn't get to see on my short stay!

The Omni is a short walk to Chinatown and a 15-20 minute walk to North Beach where you can dine on some excellent fine Italian food. If you want to get crazy, which we did, it was about a 25-30 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf. Remember the hills! Our room was clean, well stocked by housekeeping, and everything worked to perfection. If you want a microwave or a refrigerator, that would be an extra charge. There is a cozy bar if you want to decompress after work or a long day of touring around. The Omni was not cheap but worth every penny of it. Absolutely horrible experience--please note that staying here comes with hidden costs!…read more I was looking forward to staying here because of the location and cheap price; $80/night in SF over the weekend is definitely a hard find. However, from the very beginning to end ranged from confusion, annoyance, to plain nightmare. The check in process was confusing and and cumbersome. I was given no check in information, and there was no front desk. The intercom at the front door did not even work, and I had to call their actual "front desk" who apparently said they did not have my information on file and made me go through these annoying steps just to find my hotel room key in a lock box. The most frustrating and nightmarish experience came the next day when I lost the hotel room key (a physical key). I called the "front desk" several times but received no answer then finally got one after about 10 minutes. When I told the man at the "front desk," he told that he would have to speak to the housekeeper. After waiting for another 10 minutes, he informed me that I would be getting fined $200 for the lost room key, which is plain ridiculous, since they didn't have a replacement key (other than the housekeeper's key). I understand a $25 or $50 fee for a lost key but $200 for a freaking key???! After waiting for about 40 minutes total, he finally walked over with my replacement key and begged me not to lose it since that would mean the housekeeper can't even get in (how laughable). What's worse was that the other guests were able to use their phone or a passcode to get in since all the room had e-locks. When I asked the man at the "front desk" why I needed a physical key, he said that not all of the e-locks were working--including the one for my room. What a load BS. A horribly dingy hotel that can't even get its most basic sh*t together. Stay at this incompetently run hotel at your own risk or better yet find much better options.

Amazing Service. Good Value. Butler Service…read more I came to the Bay Area for a relative's 80th birthday and booked The St. Regis because it was the only Forbes Five-Star rated hotel in San Francisco. I'm usually hesitant to stay at American hotel chains' "luxury products" because they often just feel like Marriotts with nicer tile (most new Ritz-Carltons, for example). I found the St. Regis to actually offer the kind of luxury service that is often missing in American hotels. I arrived fairly early, around 11:00 a.m., and the staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating both an early check-in and late check-out, along with a room upgrade. Prior to this stay, I didn't really understand the purpose of butler service, but they were kind enough to gift-wrap the presents for the birthday party I was attending while I booked a massage and walked around the city. The spa at the St. Regis is fairly large, with an indoor heated pool (well designed), a gender-separated steam room (out of order during my visit), and a sauna. I will say the spa could use an expansion or renovation. The "relaxation room" felt a bit like a repurposed salt room, and the men's lounge basically just had tea and snacks. The massage itself was great, and everyone there was extremely friendly. What really impressed me was the service. I casually asked whether they had bath salts available for use in my room, and within 30 minutes of leaving the spa, bath salts, bubble bath, and bottled water were delivered to my room without my needing to make a special request. Great attention to detail. I walked through the gym and it seemed large enough for a full circuit workout, with plenty of equipment. I do wish the hotel had more dedicated lobby or guest lounge areas. The check-in area, bar, and restaurant all seemed to blend together into one shared space, which felt fairly busy in the evening when non-guests came in for happy hour. The bar was nice but honestly expensive and not especially memorable. I was a bit surprised by some of the clientele (there were what I assumed to be a couple "working ladies" at the bar who I wonder if their services were less than the cost of breakfast in hindsight), though very friendly occasionally felt slightly out of sync with the otherwise polished atmosphere of the hotel. I didn't try the restaurant for dinner. The hotel does offer a complimentary car service around the local area, though unfortunately it was booked when I needed it. Breakfast was expensive, easily over $100 per person for a fairly normal order, but it was very tasty. The Eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and included truffle, which was fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable. I do think it could have used a deeper scrub, though I admit my standards may be skewed by an exceptional housekeeper at home. There was also a slight musty odor. It was not on the level of a room at an average Belmond property or the former Mandarin Oriental Miami, but it was spacious and perfectly comfortable for one person. I'm not entirely sure whether St. Regis considers itself directly competitive with those brands. In summary, the service is what makes this hotel worthy of five stars. They seem genuinely happy to accommodate nearly anything you might need or even casually mention wanting. Personally, I find San Francisco itself dirty, stressful, expensive, and rough around the edges, so having a hotel that felt calm, polished, and attentive made a huge difference in my trip.

It was SF restaurant week so we ordered the $90 3 course meal for dinner at the hotel restaurant Astra. We ordered the duck cannoli (ok tasting but the duck is cold), braised short rib (very good! Love the polenta) and the brussel sprouts (menu said it was gremoleta/garlic/parmesan flavor but it ended up being gochujang flavor and it was overly sauced). Was not a huge fan. The hotel is dog friendly. They give you a bed and bowl and treats. The pet fee is steep at $200 per stay. There is the Yerba Buena gardens across the street (5 minute walk) to take your dog out. The park is clean with lots of grass. This was one of the deciding factors of us picking this hotel because it's hard to find grass area in the city. The hotel used to be quite a few other properties, so while they may have decorated it, it's not the luxurious experience we've had at other hotels. The views are to die for, we had a room that spanned windows from Golden Gate to Bay Bridge, it was amazing being on the 45th floor and seeing the night sky and morning sunrise. The property doesn't really have a real lobby, spa, and the restaurant is average, as in the quality of the food was just not top notch, and they have access to the best ingredients. They only have two elevators and are quite slow, at a busy time this can be quite annoying. The room itself was small, no real furniture, would have been nice to have a sofa and table with two chairs. There was no dresser. The bathroom was great for one, but small for two. The shower didn't have a bench, no his or her's sinks. The bed when we got into it was super soft and not supportive, when we called they did something really odd and put a board on the mattress and then a topper. I guess they have a guest that asks for this. Why didn't the service people know they have a firm version of the mattress topper they could have switched for us. We didn't have the best sleep. Again, usually the Four Seasons beds are amazing. While this property doesn't charge regular Four Seasons prices, it also doesn't deliver the experience and it would be a shame if the brand started doing this.
