This is a usual stop for us when we are in Temecula. Sometimes we even go out of our way because the food and service are usually perfect even on a weekend when they are slammed. Not today. A slow Thursday morning was all bad. Sadly we walked out this morning without ever seeing a server. Our hostess took her sweet time seating us with a soda and phone in hand. At the table with menus for an easy 10 minutes still no server. No coffee. No water. A few more minutes of ZERO severs in the dining room before we decided to leave. I've been to Mo's several times throughout the years.. we've even brought friends & family here when they've visited from out of town. My husband & I came here today for breakfast & unfortunately the place is beginning to go down hill. The floor below us where we were seated was sticky & dirty. The wall next to our booth was dirty & stained, it was absolutely gross. Two-thirds of the plate on my husband's order was completely messed up + the potatoes O'Brian were COLD & firm. They served me an overly dry pancake with mushy, bland hash browns. My coffee was served warm & at no point was I offered a refill. Also, the crumb cake used to taste better than what was served today. It was dry & nearly tasteless. The experience wasn't what we were used to. Please clean your restaurant after you guys close down for the day. It made me lose my appetite, tbh. Despite all of the mishaps, the waitress gave us 10% off our order ....... My wife and I stopped here for breakfast before our drive back to LA. There was about half an hour wait- President's Day- so we opted for the counter which had no wait- it's cool sitting at the counter, you feel like a local/ regular. Coffee was nice and hot which is always nice. Sitting up close to the kitchen, we couldn't help but notice how efficiently things were running. Lots of workers, but everyone was busy, cutting and drizzling the free coffee cake with each order, clearing tables, bringing out orders, pouring drinks etc. You can see the cooks back in the kitchen busily making the delicious food. Our waitress, I wish I caught her name, was very friendly. Everyone there seemed to be in a good mood and enjoying their jobs. The place was clean. Two people who I assume were the owners, were also working hard. The wife was bringing out boxes of creamer and filling the creamer bowls, and the husband actually had on gloves, had a toilet bowl cleaner solution and a brush and was cleaning the bathrooms/ toilets. Husband and I came here for brunch on a Friday. Only waited about 5 mins while our table was getting set up. We ate outside since we came with our pup. The outdoor patio is dog friendly. All the staff here are nice and friendly. Food was decent. You get a complementary small piece of coffee cake with your order. It was good but cold. Wish it was warm. My husband ordered the loco moco bowl. The portion was kind of small for him and even though he said it was good, he also said he has had better but I'm sure Mo's is not known for their loco moco bowls. Need to head to an actual Hawaiian restaurant. Not sore about it but don't recommend it. I ordered a waffle combo with eggs and sausage, along with a side of home potatoes. Big portions! Egg whites is extra but the extra charge is shown on the menu. Home potatoes were kind of bland but still edible. Ketchup or salsa will give them life. The winner of my meal were the waffles! French toast: 3.5/5 Rich flavor of eggs and dairy in the toast. A bit too oily. California Benedict: 3/5 Decent Benedict with tomato and avocado. The Hollandaise sauce is not rich enough, one of the poached eggs is cooked just right, the other was overcooked. Biscuits & Gravy: 3/5 HUGE portion. The picture only shows half of it. But the biscuits feels dry - hope it to be more soft. Rick's Scramble: 2.5/5 Average dish. Too plain and not flavorful enough. The flavor of avocado is not mixed well with the scrambled eggs. Super California Omelette: 2.5/5 Average dish not flavorful enough. The sour cream is too heavy here. A bit oily overall. Egg's Benedict: 1/5 Worst Benedict ever. Much smaller than the California Benedict. The Canadian bacon was in bad quality: thin and not easy to chew up. We were served coffee less than a minute of sitting down and offered complimentary coffee cake. COMPLIMENTARY. That was such a nice touch! Immediately I knew i would love this place. The basket for the coffee creamers was super cute. We had everything at our disposal at the table. Our server was Darlene and she was a sweetheart. I chose the Nova Lox Eggs Benedict with country potatoes and they did not disappoint. It was just the right amount and very filling. We didn't have to wait long for our food either . I am definitely disappointed with the food today. We come to mo's 1-2 times a month so my husband can get the chicken and waffles. The ridiculously small chicken was very disappointing to see today. We even mentioned it to our waitress who said I'm sorry we switched vendors we get the chicken from and it's smaller.....maybe add a 5th piece then to make up for it because this is ridiculous. From the looks of the staff rollin in this place, it for sure gets packed. Hubby ordered Super California Omelette, extra crispy hashbrowns and sourdough. I ordered the Seafood Omelette w hashbrowns and a side of ricotta... ooou. Had to give the crepes a try, went for the crepes de France. The only good part about this place that I tried was the homemade biscuit. That was really good. Also their complimentary bread that had some syrup on it. I doubt it was syrup but that's the only way I can describe it. Everything else, like the chicken enchilada omelette was okay. I thought it would have more flavor but it didn't. My partner had a regular breakfast that was eggs, sausage and a waffle. The eggs didn't have any seasoning and the sausage was okay. The waffle, personally, could have been crispier. This is a perfect example of reviews don't always help. We tried this place out given all the good reviews but as we walked in the place has a weird smell. Service sucked and the food was even worse. I'm in the hunt to finding biscuits and gravy like chicagos and I tried this place and it was a total fail given all the review I thought they would have fresh biscuits to my surprise they wore and dry, I never request replacement because I'm not a Karen but god this time I really had to even the gravy on top was cold. This is your average restaurant with diner food. That being said, the food wasn't great. I'm not sure how pancakes can have no flavor, but these didn't. Also ordered crepes with berries and 4 crepes and only a table spoon of berries.
