    Lime cold udon
    Sarah P.

I ordered the lime cold udon and the broth was so refreshing! I've never had lime cold udon before, but it is definitely a dish I would order again in the future. My friend ordered the katsu and the amount of cheese the chef put was surprisingly a lot, which made the quality quite worth the price. MORU had amazing service and the waitress was responsive to our needs the entire time. The restaurant is so clean and aesthetically pleasing. I would come back to try the katsu next time!

Zenbu Katsu - assortment of pork katsu

I had a fantastic experience at Moru! We visited for dinner and were blown away by the quality and presentation. We ordered the Beef Gyukatsu Set and the Pork Zenbu Katsu. Both were freshly breaded and prepared to absolute perfection. Each meal arrived on a beautiful tray complete with a bowl of rice, fresh salad, and miso soup. A highlight was the mini grill provided with the beef cutlet--it was so cute and allowed me to finish cooking the meat exactly to my liking! The Zenbu Katsu is a must-try if you're indecisive like me. It's an assortment of their entire pork lineup: 1 rosu, 1 hire, 1 cheese katsu, 1 menchi katsu, 1 ebi, and 3 veggie katsu. I love that they offer this "taster" platter; it's a very creative way for diners to experience the variety of the menu in one sitting. The pricing was very reasonable for the amount and quality of food provided. Location & Tip: The restaurant is in a great spot right outside the Yonge & Eglinton subway station. Just a heads-up for first-timers: we got a bit lost and accidentally walked into the residential building entrance first! Make sure to look for the commercial entrance--the restaurant is located on the second floor.

    Gidori udon (21)

Went when this place was brand new. It replaced another Japanese spot with a similar name. It's upstairs so you'll need to head up the stairs from the condo building. They have a good selection of beef, chicken, pork and seafood katsu which are very large plates. But my favorite here is definitely the Gidori Udon ($21). Extremely good broth with chicken and fish cake. I know they're known for katsu but wow, that udon is delicious. Good service and as its relatively new, it's a nice modern vibe in there.

5 stars for the food and 4 stars for the atmosphere! Delicious katsu, can expect a line so it's best to reserve ahead of time! It can also be a bit confusing to find, it's located upstairs but you have to walk through what looks like an office building to get to the second floor. It's not too big so expect it to be a bit cramped during busier periods. The udon was delicious, it had a great chew to it. The highlight was their katsu and the pickled veggies. Only downside is that they don't have unlimited refills for rice, soup and salad. They only allow one refill.

A group of four of us came for dinner. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Service was excellent as the servers regularly checked on us to ensure everything was going well. The food was great! You could tell that they take pride in the preparation and presentation of the dishes. Also, the oil is clean, and so the food comes out a beautiful light golden colour and not super dark like some other places. Our favourite dishes were the Katsu Sando and the Zenbu Katsu, which included: 1 Rosu, 1 Hire, 1 Cheese katsu, 1 Menchi katsu, 1 Ebi and 3 Vegetable katsu. The Crab Cream Croquette was also really good. Super crispy on the outside and very creamy on the inside. It was a good thing that we ordered 1 side dish, 2 mains and 1 Zenbu Katsu as we couldn't finish everything. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely come back.

Came here to enjoy some elevated Katsu. This was more than I expected and we all really enjoyed it. The portions were bigger than we anticipated so we felt a bit stuffed. The service was amazing, waiters were very polite and patient. They were playing anime music the entire time we were there.. which was fun! Would gladly come back here to try other dishes from the menu!

So to begin, Moru Katsu grand opening was on April 4th, 2025. Moru Katsu is located on the second floor. I highly recommend to take the stairs because the elevator you must take the left one and press M instead of level 2. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor. As a first timer, I think the Zenbu Katsu is a good option because you get to try a bit of everything, tofu Katsu (hard tofu), Ebi (shrimp) Katsu, pumpkin, Zucchini, pork loin and pork fillet. I prefer the pork loin over the pork fillet as the pork was marinated better. I did order a separate Ebi because I like shrimp. The minced cutlet (Manchu) was flavourful and tasty with bits of carrots inside. The Katsu Don, I find the egg on the salty side. Overall, worth to check it out.

**3.5 stars**. Came here on a Friday at around 5pm and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. For some reason, the reso time on Fridays only goes up to 5pm on their website, but rest assured that you'll still get a seat without resos. The restaurant is located on the second floor so highly recommend to take the stairs. The place felt very modern and the staff was really nice. My partner and I got the Zenbu to try everything as well as the Ebi Katsu. The Ebi looked absolutely beautiful, but it was an insane mess to eat. It basically crumbles everywhere once you bite into it, but the shrimp flavour was not bad. From the Zenbu plate, I really liked the Hire and the veggie tempura (sweet potato and tofu). The cheese and regular katsu was pretty average. Not the best that I've tasted. I thought the price was decent for what you get and the presentation is very instagram worthy. I will probably not be back unless they have new menu items.

Ebi katsu with mini udon instead of rice

The shrimp katsu has a pretty presentation but it's hard to eat. Not that flavourful/delicious either. But I liked Hire (pork) katsu (very soft) and Tori (chicken) katsu that other people got. I would go back to try their katsu sando.

Cozy atmosphere and the service was kind, making us feel relaxed. Maybe too relaxed that we ordered dessert even after being stuffed already. Starting with the mvp of the meal, the dessert - Sticky Toffee Pudding, did not disappoint. In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was the best I've had. Tender snd delicate cake, ample syrup and the twist was some sort of sour tamarind or cherry candy on top. Perfect! The grilled mackerel was also absolutely divine. Really well prepared and meaty. The mussel dish was incredible too. The broth was gingery, garlicky and coconuty and very comforting to have on a cool night! I wish they had some sort of dry bread to go with it. However, the only bread option, focaccia was ordered. The focaccia was lovely on its own! Not an ideal pairing with the mussels but not bad either. I would absolutely revisit!
