We chose the Galley because we wanted steamed clams and were delighted by the choice. For a local place it was hopping! On a Wednesday. When we got there at 6pm there was a 30 minute wait. Luckily a spot at the cozy bar opened and we pounced. The bartender took our order shortly after we sat down and we didn't waste any time ordering clams. They came out quickly and were steeped in the most delicious broth, which we slopped up with soft pieces of bread. Will come back for these for sure. We were still a bit peckish so we ordered crab cakes. They were ok but we wouldn't order them again, had they been hotter may have made a difference. Next time maybe we'll get a window seat to be able to enjoy the view as well as the sumptious dinner.

They were nice enough to serve the entree on 2 plates and it was cooked to perfection! Our favorite was the clams! The sauce for it was different from your normal white wine garlic sauce. It was red without being too overpowering with the tomato! The crème brûlée was also not too sweet and amazing! -1 star for the guy that was the hostess. He took my number down and said he would call in about an hour when to come back. I purposely made my phone super loud so i would hear the call when the table was going to be ready. More than an hour passed so we walked back to check our place in line. He tried to say that he called 20 min ago but he said couldn't remember why it didn't go through and couldn't even come up with an excuse lol. I rechecked the number he wrote down which was correct. I had my partner call me and she had no problem. He promised us the next available seat. Another party after us literally went through the same thing as us where he claimed that he called but I'm sure he didn't. We got seated right away after so I'm glad we came back to check! Our server (i forgot her name but she had blonde hair) made up for it since she was super delightful! Aside from that i was looking for her to tell her it was my partners birthday but i only saw him. I asked if he could tell my server for me and he said yeah! They can put a candle on the dessert we order. He asked me what dessert but i didn't know what the options were yet so he said he would just tell my server anyway and we can pick. Lo and behold, no candle lol. That guy sucks

I ordered the Calamity Jane burger, and wow, it was absolutely delicious and HUGE. You will honestly get full after eating just half of it. I also got a side of their potatoes with the spicy garlic sauce for dipping, and it was so good. Definitely a must-order! They also had a great selection of sangrias, which was a nice bonus. The only thing I'd mention is that it can be a little pricey if you're dining solo, so if you're going on a date, be ready for your pockets to take a little dent. Next time I come back, I definitely want to try the shrimp tacos because they sounded amazing. I was torn between those and the burger, but I went with my default order. Overall, delicious food, fast service, and a great spot in Morro Bay. I would definitely come back!

Had to park across the street in the surf shop parking lot for a handicapped space, luckily the traffic wasn't too bad crossing the Embarcadero. Waited quite a while to be seated. Loud concrete floor with metal chairs, could hear the conversation of all the other diners!! Distractions from people walking by on the Embarcadero, but great Rock view. Ordered cheeseburger with potatoes. Salad was "mixed greens" so I didn't order a salad. Next time I will get their wedge salad, but I didn't know if I could finish it with the burger and potatoes this time. Server said no fries or chicken strips becasue they don't have a fryer. Free refills for sodas, but only a little bit of ice. It was a bit syrupy and had a lack of carbonation, might have been Pepsi instead of Coke. Steak knife included with utensils, which came in handy because the burger was really slippery and I had to eat with a knife and fork!! Potatoes looked overcooked but that was because they are purple potatoes!! They tasted ok, luckily not too spicy like everything is these days. I liked the non-purple potato's texture better. Slow to refill my drink. I will come here again and have the wedge salad, from the pic it looks smaller than I expected this time around so it will be able to be eaten with a burger!!

If you've been following along on the journey, you know I was trying to keep this trip cheap. At least I was. Now, I'm just trying to salvage it with one last attempt at a reasonably priced restaurant. I suggested 2 places that didn't look too bad, one of which was The Hungry Fisherman. For whatever reason, my wife wasn't interested in either. A third option was a place at the end of Embarcadero that we first went to during covid. My thing was, we have a dog and I don't want to eat outside. It's cold and one place only seats people with pets outside. But since we've been there and my wife was mistaking it for another, she wanted to go there anyways. I guess we will leave the dog in the car? Idk. I come inside and we are looking at 30+ min. What if we take it to go? 20 min. What if we call it in? 20 min. Apparently, if you want to make a to-go order, you have to wait for the 2 servers to find the time to take your order in between waiting their tables. But I'm ranting about another restaurant that we didn't even stay at. But that's how we ended up here. I feel like when I parked, others were arriving at the same time, so I rushed in and grabbed a table. The sign says seat yourself, so we got the largest table there. It seated 8 and while I waited for my family to come in, I was hoping I didn't look odd sitting there by myself. Fortunately my family came quick and we got started. Looking at everything, the menu isn't expansive, but there were a lot of good looking options. I was split between the chicken fried steak and the chile verde burrito. I'm a little picky about my chile verde since it can either be too spicy or bland. Morro Bay isn't known for its Mexican population as far as I can tell, and I've been seriously disappointed in chile verde when it isn't cooked by natives. But since there is a page dedicated just to Mexican food, and the waitresses are off Latin descent, I give the chile verde burrito a go. Especially after I ask our waitress for her opinion. I'm glad I did because it exceeded all expectations. The avocado, the salsa, sour cream, it all just worked so well together. I got about 3/4 of the way with it and my daughter finished the rest. She also agreed it was good. My wife got the French toast, which was a bad idea. Not because it wasn't good, she loved it. But because bread makes her sugar spike, and the consequences came strong less than an hour later. To give you perspective, the tortilla on a burrito makes it spike. She knows what it does to her but she does it anyways. No fault of the restaurant. This one was on her. It must have been worth it because she finished her leftovers after her sugar crashed soon after. Everyone else loved their food as well. One thing I wasn't aware of is that they serve cinnamon coffee. When I got my first refill, she asked if I wanted cinnamon. You can be excused for not knowing since I don't even see coffee on the menu, let alone cinnamon. I must have had at least 3 cups in the less than 40 min we were there. Looking around the inside, it's very nice inside. It's not ritzy by any means, but I did enjoy looking around inside. We also discovered a now binge-worthy show to watch that was playing behind us-Worse Cooks In America. I hooked that out was on so patrons would appreciate the good food in front of them. Also on the way out, looking inside the cooking area -all Mexicans. So it makes sense that the food was so authentic. Like I said, we will be back. Morro is our weekend vacation spot, so that's a promise

Credit card processing fee and no print receipt options. Recently ordered a cheeseburger and chicken strips and fries and a salad. Chicken was awful, a spongy approximation of chicken, but it was cooked well. Worried that my blue cheese dressing was not cold, but didn't get sick. Ranch dressing for the chicken was colder. I ordered my soda to be delivered with my meal so I got my refill while I was still eating. Not much ice, had to move more from my water. Also soda a bit flat (might be because it is Pepso?) Fries were great, hot and crispy. I salted them myself and ate with Ranch. The burger was warm but a bit thinner than I have had here before. The bun was nice. Definitely will return here again and pay cash, just won't order the chicken strips!!
