We first called Attic Kings about 4 years ago after heavy rains led to rats getting into our attic…read more They caused a huge mess, and I was especially concerned about the urine, droppings, old insulation, and fiberglass getting into the rest of the house. Moshe came out right away, inspected everything, and gave us a very reasonable quote to seal all of the entry points, clean and sanitize the attic, deodorize the space, remove all of the old insulation, and eventually replace it with new insulation. One of the biggest concerns for me was cleanliness. We had just installed brand new carpet upstairs, and the attic entrance is right there. Moshe covered everything in plastic and actually created a contained tunnel from the attic all the way downstairs and out the door so the old insulation and debris never traveled through the house. That made me feel much more comfortable about having the work done. Moshe and his team were fast, clean, and efficient, but what I appreciated most was how thorough Moshe was. He took the time to explain everything, sent us detailed photos, and never made us feel rushed. Because we have two attic spaces that connect along the roofline, Moshe did not just seal everything and immediately put down new insulation. He left traps in place and came back for several weeks to make sure there were no rats still hiding somewhere or finding another way in. Only after we were all comfortable that the problem was completely resolved did he install the new insulation. I really appreciated that because the last thing I wanted was to spend money on new insulation and have it ruined again. 4 years later, we still have the trap up there and have not had another rat problem. Recently, we had a completely separate issue with yellow jackets that made an opening near the roofline and got inside the roof area. After pest control handled the yellow jackets, I called Moshe just to ask whether the opening needed some kind of special repair. He came out the very next morning, walked the perimeter of both rooflines, found a few small areas that had shifted or opened over the years, sealed the area where the yellow jackets got in, and even went back into the attic to make sure everything was still secure and there was no evidence of rats. There wasn't. What really impressed me is that this was years after the original work, and he still came out as a courtesy to check everything. That says a lot about the kind of person he is and how he runs his business. Another thing I really appreciate is that when you call Attic Kings, you actually get Moshe. You are not dealing with an automated system, a call center, or a different person every time. He is very hands-on, and the people he brings with him have always been professional, respectful and clean. We even scheduled the original work while we were away from the house, and I felt completely comfortable trusting Moshe and his team in our home. His pricing was competitive, the value was excellent, and most importantly, the work has held up for 4 years. It is getting harder to find small businesses where the owner still answers the phone, shows up personally, stands behind the work, and cares about maintaining a relationship with customers long after the job is finished. I've spent $1500 with Atco this year and have had very little results and very little…read morecommunication. I called them out for two issues: (1) Moles, and (2) Rodents. For the moles, they caught one the whole time. For the rodents, they didnt catch any and never fixed the problem at all. For the moles: They set a few traps in a small area. When I pointed to dirt mounds on the rest of my property, the guy literally asked: "Well how big an area do you want us to treat?" and so I just stopped using them to treat the problem and got my own traps. It cost them $85 to come out and check traps, and with empty traps, that really adds up. Not worth it in my opinion. For the rodents: I had an inspection and they set traps and said they would fix access holes around the house. Two major issues: -- First, they never set traps beyond the 6 inches where the crawl space opens. They never went all the way under the house or all the way into the attic, so they never found the problem. Did the traps catch anything? No, not in the past two months. -- Second, when making repairs they used spray foam, which the rodents immediately chewed through. At another area, they just treated a very small section, and the rodents dug a hole right next to the location they treated. Incredibly innefective treatment if you ask me. When I had them come out one more time, they quoted me an additional $6k+ on top of what I already paid to have someone rip out the vapor barrier under my house. I've tried to call them throughout this whole process but have been playing phone tag for 3+ weeks so took matters into my own hands. I've since had that work done for 1/5 of the price quoted AND the other company found the real rodent access holes while working under the house which they're fixing with copper wire and other solutions that rodents can't chew through, which is way more effective than what Atco did. An absolute waste of time and money using Atco. Do no recommend. Find another company that's actually willing to do the hard work and not charge you an arm and a leg.
