Everyone is great at this office. My only complaint is the wait time. But, on that note, I must say, my last visit was unusual. It was my annual appt and I was moved from tech to tech and then the doctor quite smoothly. My wait time in between tests was maybe 5 to 10 minutes. This is the way to go. Literally the worst service and quality I've ever experienced. Lack of any sort of human or common curtesy PLEASE do not come here. Their optical/Eye glass office has the worst staff with continuous pressure and horrible attitude from these women. Yes they have good selection of brands but, not worth spending $400-$500 for your frames. After having met with optical, I couldn't wait to leave their office out pure frustration. I've gone to Morris Eye Group for several years because they're the only local eye practice that's on my current (but not for much longer, thank goodness) health plan. My first negative experience with them was when I questioned why they collected the higher copay for my health insurance rather than the lower copay for my vision plan, since both covered the service I was getting. I was simply told that that was their practice - no other explanation. The next time I went there they did collect the lower copay for my vision plan but couldn't explain why they hadn't done that before. They start calling with appointment reminders several weeks before an appointment and leave at least 3 or 4 "reminders", each one asking you to "press 1 to confirm." I press 1 but they still call back with more reminders. I've asked them for only one reminder but it doesn't seem to help. They told me I have a thinning macula and recommended some rather expensive vitamins to help rebuild it. I was alarmed so I followed their suggestions. After taking them for two years with little results I was finally told, "You know they're fat soluble, don't you?" NO, nobody told me that and I eat a very low fat diet, so I've invested two years and a couple thousand dollars and haven't been taking them the most effective way. Finally, and what prompted me to finally write this review, is that Dr. Sara Julazadeh (who is an optometrist, not an ophthalmologist as I'd requested to see) was very quick to recommend that I have a visual field test because she saw signs of possible glaucoma. This alarmed me so I went ahead and scheduled the test (for another $30 copay). I was told I'd get the results in about a week. I called when I hadn't heard after a week and was told that it takes two weeks. After two weeks I still hadn't heard from them so I called again and was told they'd give the message to the doctor and someone would call me that day. They didn't. I went out of the country for a week and (foolishly) expected to have a voicemail from them when I returned. There wasn't one. I called for a third time today, told them how unhappy I was that they were quick to recommend tests and raise patients' anxiety levels but not so quick to get patients the results of those tests, so how necessary could those tests really be? I gave them my cell number and told them that I expected a call back TODAY! Guess what -- it never came! I'll be so glad when I can go back to Scripps and deal with responsible, ethical doctors and office staff again! read more

I honestly almost didn't come here because of some of the reviews I read but I must say that my experience here was extremely pleasent!! Every single person I delt with was amazing! The front desk staff was very nice and made the new patient paperwork a breeze, the woman that did my pre exam was very professional and friendly and the doctor that finished my visit up was more courteous than any doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Made an appointment for an opthalmologist to diagnose and treat an eye problem. After the inept exam, I found out it was an optometrist seeing me said I was having an ocular migraine. This was a complete misdiagnosis, because I later found out from an actual opthalmologist that I had suffered a stroke of my optic nerve. Big difference. Maybe they can prescribe glasses here, but definitely don't go to them for any problem with your vision. They are clueless. read more

I had a good experience at my annual eye exam. I was seen by Dr. Butler and she was very nice and thorough.

My family and I have been here multiple times, and as other reviewers have mentioned, wait times are WAY too long. When you make an appointment you expect to be seen with 15-20 minutes of appointment time, not 1 - 2 hours AFTER appointment time!!! Are you kidding me!!! Additionally, doctors and staff are incredibly un-personable. I don't know why I've waited so long, but my family and I will be finding a new optometrist. read more

I went for my final post cataract removal follow up appointment with Dr. Aminlari today. I am so happy with his work and his manner. The cataract surgery I had on my other eye at another clinic had a poor result. I was very nervous about having this procedure done on my only good eye, but had no choice since my vision was very poor because of the cataract. Dr. Aminlari was very understanding and assuring...I felt his concern for my situation. The results have been fantastic. I can see better than I ever remember...no glasses needed for distance, day or night. I appreciate his surgical skill, consultation expertise, bedside manner and promptly seeing me close to my appointment time . I highly recommend Dr. Aminlari and the Morris Eye Group for cataract surgery. read more

This was the worst eye appointment I've ever had. I made an appointment online. When I arrived, they had no record of my appointment. I waited quite a while, and they figured out how to get me in- great. The people at the front desk were nice enough. Then I proceeded to sit in the waiting room four different times, and each time I was handed off to a new technician- the first one checked my prescription and very slowly went over the medical history that I had just provided on the form, the second took pictures, the third was the actual doctor visit (I did like her, she seemed nice and knowledgeable), and the fourth was to sit with the contact/glasses fitting person for about thirty seconds before I decided their options were meant solely to gouge money from you. I considered leaving about halfway through the first technician, but I was concerned about how insurance would deal with me doing that. I felt like livestock being herded from one place to the next, no one explained anything that was happening, and it seemed like they try their very hardest to see as many patients as possible and make your time with the actual doctor as short as possible. While the technicians were nice, they seemed inexperienced and had little bedside manner. I would imagine that this place has a ton of turnover, mainly judging by the fact that their employees seemed to be very young. The actual doctor, who I liked, almost made me think that I would give two stars- but then I realized that there's no way I would ever consider coming back to this office again, so one star it is. read more

I swore I'd never come back to this office again after my past frustrating experiences, but this is one of my only insurance options. My worst appointment was waiting 2-1/2 hours for same-time exams for my two kids. It was torture! They get you in and then have you wait endlessly. I saw a number of retirees who were happy to wait, but busy professionals or parents with kids -- be warned. The shortest time I've ever spent on a quick recheck appointment has been 90 minutes. However, with all of that said, the most frustrating part for me is the forced sales pitch at the in-office eyeglass store. Even if you say you don't want to order glasses through them, they refuse to bypass that step. In fact, I think they make you wait even long as punishment. There's an older woman who works there who gets real snippy if you don't want to order glasses. If you have an option, go elsewhere. read more

My wife took my boys here for an annual exam. One of my sons needed his contact lens prescription renewed - he's been wearing contacts for over 2 years. The office insisted he needed a $160 contact lens fitting. We saw an MD for his eye exam and she did nothing with the contacts. Before they left the office, my wife asked for the contact lens RX, and she was told another doctor needed to "design" the lenses. Don't know what that means, but they left the office empty handed. They were told someone would call us when trial lenses were ready for pick up. 1 week later, no phone call. My wife had to make multiple calls. Same as what other reviewers say, they will promise to call back, never will. They basically take your money and don't care what happens after that. Finally, we get the trials. We were told to call for a "contact lens check" once he had a couple days of trials left and he would come in for a quick 2 minute exam and then they would give him his contact lens RX. My wife calls to make the appt and first is told their computer system is down and someone will call back. They never did. She calls again and is told the latest time available (for both locations) is 1:30 period, as far as the schedule goes. My wife told them she did not want to pull my son out of school early for a 2 min contact lens check- "sorry, that's all we have". The truth of the matter is, they will only give after school appts to people having initial exams where they will be taking your money. When we made their first appt, we were able to get a 4pm appt the same week, no problem. All we want is my sons contact lens RX and we can't get it. We now have an appt. at Costco so we can get a prescription so my son can see. There goes $120 on top of the $160 Morris already charged. Shame on Morris Eye Group!!! read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Spent over $1,000 for two pairs of glasses, both of which made my vision worse when I tried them on. They used bs excuses like "your eyes have to get use to them". I've worn glassed before many times and this has never been the case. It's also the most expensive place I've ever been to. Stay FAR, FAR away from this company as they are a complete rip-off and only care about money!!!!! I told them to keep their glasses and refund my money. Horrible. Like some of the other reviews on here have already stated, expect to wait long after your appointment time before you get to see someone. One time, they forgot me and left me in the waiting room for over an hour and didn't realize it until I approached them. This office seems to be more interested in making money than caring for their patients. The doctor is impatient, and gets annoyed if you ask too many questions. Also, when I call and ask to speak with someone about a medical question, they never have a doctor or tech available. Further, they don't always return phone calls so you have to call multiple times. All in all, very bad experience, incompetent staff, and impatient doctors. read more

I read so many negative reviews about this place, I thought by the time I am due for my annual exam things would change. Maybe a new manager would see what poor customer service this is. But nothing has changed - there is still no regard for your time. This is indeed high volume and be prepared for a long wait. I arrived on time and was seen by a tech, then turned over to another tech after my eyes were dialated. Then on to the opticion. I asked for a quote on sun glasses with bi focal lense. He wrote up a bill of $500 NOT including the frames. I told him that I would check elsewhere, Then long wait to see Jane for review of tests. Jane apologized for being so late and then rushed through my exam and then stated that the technician had missed something in my earlier testing and I should wait to be called back by him. I asked how long this technician had been on the job and she replied "awhile".I had now been there 2 hours. Back in the waiting room where I observed the opticians all chatting with one another. After another 1/2 hour no one came for me. Decided I had enough of this place and walked out. The next day I realized they had not given me my RX for new glasses so called on the phone. Receptonist said she would mail it - after one week I received a RX for eye drops! Called again and told them I would pick up the RX for new glasss. Even talked to the gal who originally took my request and, of course, she had not idea what happened. I had to make a special trip to get the RX. read more

Extremely satisfied customer! I got Lasik done by Dr. Morris 2 weeks ago and just found out yesterday at my second follow-up appt that my vision in both eyes is now 20/15. Before the surgery I couldnt see anything more than a few feet in front of me without contacts/glasses. Really didn't know what to expect with the procedure, but other than being a little anxious, the surgery was quick, pain free, and took no more than 5-6 minutes per eye. I was only in the procedure chair for about 15-20 minutes and once they sat me up I immediately could see better than I ever had in my life. Vision was 20/20 the next day at my first follow up appointment. Went back to work 48 hours after the procedure and have had no complications or problems now going on 2 weeks post-op. I highly recommend Dr. Morris and his team for anyone considering corrective vision surgery or even as a regular patient for exams, etc. which I am as well, (Kudos as well to Dr. Burke who is my regular "amazing" optometrist with Morris Eye Group and was also a part of my Lasik consult/follow-up process). read more

I experienced a recent problem with my prescription and called to see how best to resolve it. Toni took my call and was extremely rude and condescending. STAY AWAY!!! I would never recommend this place! 1. They scheduled me with the wrong doctor. I have been wearing contacts for over 15 years and they scheduled me for a regular eye appointment. I was there for 2 hours and they tell me I have to make another appointment to see a doctor that will design my contacts...then I have to wear that trial pair and if they fit they will give me a Rx. Why would I need to see another doctor to check contacts that I wore when I came to this place and I have been wearing for over 10 years? Oh thats right...you scheduled me with they wrong doctor and the doctor that I should have really seen wasn't even there. 2. Watch what they charge! My husband went there on 10/9/14 and was charged a $10 co-pay. I went 12/9/14 and they charged me a $35 co-pay. They don't know what they are doing. I have VSP and federal insurance and there should be no difference in the charges. 3. Section where you pick frames ect. has no clue what they are doing! My husband went in on 10/9/14 and paid the contact fitting fee of $55 and paid the difference in the frame cost which his total bill came to $105.....(his frame was $225 and scratch resistance, reflective coating, lenses, and polycarbonate was all covered) he received 6 month supply of contacts and glasses for a total of $105. For me...the girl was trying to charge me for everything that is covered under my insurance and told me that they use a more premium lens? The frame I chose was less expensive than the frame my husband picked but she told me that it was going to cost $391. I would also have to pay a contact fitting fee. I would have to come back and see another doctor. And who knows if the would charge me another co-pay? Oh she tried to tell me maybe my insurance changed? Yeah sweetie I am sure it didn't change in 2 months! 4. Never did they try to get another individual check to see if there was an error. I asked to she a manager. TORI didn't even try to help. She said I can see we aren't going to please you and we will give you your co-pay and not bill your insurance...like you have never been here before. SHE LIED! She called me the next morning and told me they are going to have to bill my insurance? So now they are trying to bill my insurance....when they scheduled me with the WRONG doctor?!? I had to call my insurance and file an appeal. Horrible customer service! Incompetence in scheduling appointments! Lack of knowledge. Tried to over charge me! Pure waste of my time!!! I have been working in health care over 10 years as an RN and would never ever recommend this establishment to anyone! Future customers be aware of your benefits and don't let them fool you. I've been going to Morris Eye Group for years and I have always been treated courteously and I find all the staff to be professional. A few weeks ago I went in because I had lost a screw, and then the lens, to my glasses. The screw had come out a couple of times before, and my next appointment wasn't for another 6 months. Tess, who helped me, made a call and go the manufacturer to agree to replace the lens at no cost to me. I was very impressed by her willingness to help and to go the extra mile for me. My mom came here for an annual eye exam to update her prescription. Upon a less than thourough exam (shining a light into my mom's eyes) Dr. Butler concluded my mom needed to do some scans and Dr. Butler refused to dilate her. We are tight on money, the scans would cost us $86 out of pocket. We said we would reschedule for another time. Returning to see Dr. Butler after skipping on the scans. Again shining a light into my mom's eyes briefly for less than 5 minutes. She concluded my mom has dry eyes. She prescribed Tobradex, an antibiotic and steroid used for bacterial infection and explained that Tobradex is going to help her "dry eyes". We got slapped with a $400 bill out of pocket. They billed both our vision insurance and our health insurance on the same day without letting us know about the sudden change in exam "coding". After consulting my boss who is an optometrist, apparently they are not allowed to bill both vision and health insurance in one day. Dr. Butler did not explain anything to us and she turned, what was thought a routine exam, to a medical exam and prescribed antibiotics without evidence and reason. She receives zero stars from us. Whoever is in charge of auditing this business needs to do a more thourough check. Morris Eye Group is conducting unethical and dishonest business. Especially Dr. Butler who clearly finds pleasure in taking advantage of her confused patients. This "business" is shamefully regrettable. read more

I have had very good experience with Morris. I love the use of high-technology on their work. Much more precise, very good people...friendly and appear to be very capable. I had initial concerns with the Yelp reviews, but my experience seems to be virtually perfect. I have had no problems on payments of co-pay. Scheduling is very good and the location (Vista) is very good for me. I have diabetes and that adds other significant issues and they seem to be very good on everything. So, yes, I give it a 5 score. read more

They may be good at what they do but I didn't care at that point. I had a horrible experience from my PRK eye surgery at Morris Eye Group. I was told that PRK was the safer option and my eye ended up getting an ulcer and infected. There was even concern of losing my eye sight! After my surgery, I went in for a post-op visit and was not seen by Dr. Morris, instead by his support staff. I strongly believe that if I had been seen by Dr. Morris I could have avoided two months of blurred vision, pain, and now a year and a half of dry eye symptoms. When I experienced pain after my surgery I scheduled an appointment, but the support staff shared that I was fine (even though I had to leave in tears from the pain?!). Two days later, I returned with my eye almost fused shut to have another support staff diagnose that I did have an infection and alerted Dr. Morris. When I shared my frustration with Dr. Morris about not being seen by him originally and that I wanted a refund he became aggressive, combative and rude and shared that dry eye symptoms and complications were a possibility. I stopped going there after being treated like a number instead of a patient. I am still recovering from dry eye symptoms and never had a follow-up call from his office regarding my recovery. Luckily, I can still see, but I do have to use steroid drops to treat my dry eye symptoms. Dr. Morris may be less expensive than other eye doctors, but after experiencing this complication I would recommend spending the extra money to go to a doctor that will also personally provide post-op care. read more

Ever review has their points but the main point is you will wait between one and three hours and if you hound them maybe just an hour past your appt time. I have been disappointed in this practice on a number of occasions. I am not one to give out negative reviews on Yelp, because I think every business deserves a chance to respond when a customer is unhappy. However, their last phone call to me takes the cake. I am changing eye doctors after the last three times I got glasses, my prescription was done wrong each and every time requiring multiple visits to correct. I am requesting that this practice send documents to my new eye dr and they just called to ask me for $15 to complete the request. In all my years of going to any doctor, I have never had that happen. This last instance depicts the essence of this practice. I think they need to re-examine their core values. read more

We just had my husband's annual visit to the eye doctor at Morris Eye Group and we were very pleased again with the experience there. My husband had a stroke 14 years ago which resulted in right hemiparesis and aphasia. When you are not able to communicate, a vision exam can be very challenging, not to mention the difficulty of getting into the various chairs and positioned properly for the machines that help with the tests! The technician who did the vision exam was so very patient and able to get all the info she needed to give an informed opinion. The technician who took the pictures also was most accommodating. Finally, we saw Dr. Vichnacki (sp?), who did the eye exam that looked for glaucoma or other underlying medical issues, and we both felt that she is the nicest and most patient doctor we have come across. The whole process took about 2.5 hours and we never felt rushed. Everything was explained thoroughly and we appreciated the professional care we received there. We left the office with the same glasses my husband has been wearing for the past 2 years, thankful that no one was trying to sell us on new glasses that we might not need. We would highly recommend this office. read more

Morris Eye Group is the biggest scam. I went to see the doctor because I have Papillary Conjunctivitis which I learned was only caused by allergies. I went in for my initial consultation and was told by the practitioner to just do a full annual check up because it would be less expensive ($40 compared to $90). After waiting an entire hour I was finally seen by the doctor. He saw me for 3 minutes before giving me an eye drop and making me schedule a follow up visit. I went back to see the doctor after being on the drops for 2 weeks and found out that to see the doctor again, just for a 5 minute check up, would cost me $200! I walked out. He did no work that was worth paying $200, as I said, it was an allergic reaction! I bought $10 Visine and have been just fine. Now, 2 months later, I received a bill in the mail for $237 and was told that the $40 CoPay did not cover every test done on me. I NEVER AGREED TO ANY TEST THAT WAS NOT COVERED by the annual check up. This place is one big scam. I will never go again, I will never recommend and if I could, I would make sure no one wastes there time with these people. Completely appalled with the professionalism of this practice. read more
