They are very good. This was my 3rd visit over 5 years. I try to go every year for an annual exam. They are friendly and run a very well organized office. The techs know what they are doing, and Dr Crosby is good. She is through and spends time answering my questions. She is also very honest, which I appreciate. Make sure you are seeing an Ophthalmologist! I hate writing a negative review, but after almost 10 years I had enough! Poor customer service. From getting sold the incorrect first pair of frames, (I came in 3x to try to get them adjusted); screwing up billing (I have medical and VSP), 4 callbacks to get a refund owed to me, and 3 calls to try and get a medical release form (I finally had to go out of my way and walk in person cause I was so frustrated about not getting the service of simply getting the form sent to me). Then I found out I was NOT seeing a Ophthalmologist, but being billed as if I were. To TOP IT OFF, if I were to choose a new practice 30 miles away they said it was no charge TO TRANSFER MY MEDICAL RECORDS. But, if you were to change to a practice within 30 miles, Morris Eye Group charges you for your medical release papers? Isn't it the same amount of work to send if I were going to San Diego or go to another practice? I've been coming here for 10 years. It's like a production line at Morris, cattle call. No personal service, and it takes 3-4 times to request to get something done! As I was telling the administrator my history with them, another patient agreed and was shaking her head in agreement with me! She's obviously had the same experience! When they found out I was going to see a competing Ophthalmology who had worked for MORRIS Is when they decided to stick it to me one last time WITH A CHARGE for both me and my husbands recorded. Nice, friendly staff. Dr Codner explained many things about my eyes and the tests that were done. I thought the very basic package for reading glasses (I also have an astigmatism) was a little steep if you don't have vision insurance (hence the four stars) but I received my RX and was not charged for it as another reviewer stated they were. I went to Morris for the first time last week for a routine eye exam. I met 6 different people and was taken to 5 different rooms and I was there for 2 hours! It's a full on production. I had a 1:30 appointment for an annual eye exam that lasted 4 hours. I brought in my prescription contacts and gave the tech a run down of what I was using for contacts and why I was there. She conducted my exam which started nearly 2 hours after my original appointment time. After looking over my current contacts, the previous contact prescription and my current glasses she gave me a vision test and dilated my eyes. I then waited another half hour for another woman who made sure my eyes were dilated and then waited some more for Dr. Aminlari. Dr. Aminlari was funny and personable he also seemed to care or take interest with my needs. However when I asked him for my contact prescription he just starred at me like a deer in headlights. After a long pause he said, "Well I don't know how to write prescriptions for contacts I have to have another doctor write one up for you but I'll mail it out to you." I thought that was so strange, even the optomotrist at Sams Club can write a prescription for contacts. I have never been to a optomotrist or ophthalmologist that was unable to write a prescription for contacts. AND WHY DIDN'T THE TECH TELL ME THAT DOCTOR AMINLARI DID NOT KNOW HOW TO WRITE PRESCRIPTIONS FOR CONTACTS WHEN I HANDED HER MY CONTACTS AND PREVIOUS PRESCRIPTION AND TOLD HER I WANTED TO SEE IF I NEEDED A NEW PRESCRIPTION FOR CONTACTS? The entire experience was "OFF" from the rude receptionist who hung up on me when I asked her an insurance question while first scheduling my appointment, to the long wait times, to the tech who didnt bother to tell me I couldnt get a prescription for contacts when thats what I was there for. It was just one big unpleasant experience. The only good was that the tech I saw was a nice young lady and the dr was personable, both had great people skills. But at the end of the day I went in and paid for a service I did not receive. read more

The wait was long, but I was warned ahead of time that it would be. That's my only nitpicky complaint. All of the staff I interacted with were kind, courteous, patient - all the things you want from a medical office. They gave my son coloring sheets and crayons and made sure he wasn't too bored (he's 4). I highly recommend this office. This is a total scam. They are the most UNETHICAL and IMMORAL operation I have encountered in the past 25 years. They force you to pay for inflated prescriptions on brands they sell at inflated prices. They make you wait for hours and hours to see a doc who then gives you a total run around on why they cannot give you a prescription on the spot because they need to "fit" trial lenses (not in stock but they will charge you for $70 for their favored freebies) and then sell you these for 400 to 500 dollars over Costco prices. I wrote a review back on 5/17/2012 and I would like to change my stance on the Morris Eye group I had a terrible experience back then but what I can say is Dr. Jeff Morris hears his patients and what to make it right and that is exactly what both Amanda and Jeff did with my next experience. So much so that I am considering doing Lasik at this office when over a year ago I would have never set foot back in this business. Jeff called me directly to listen to my concerns and ask for me to come in free of charge so he could show me what they do at Morris Eye Group. I was pleasantly surprised. I still do not think the office manager handled himself appropriately last time but I know Jeff hear the concern and is looking to make his practice better which is all a patient could ask for. Have been a patient at the practice for years. I've had some good and not so good experiences depending on the doctor I've seen. They have a good glasses selection. A little pricey but much better quality than the glasses I used to get from an outside office. I usually get my glasses from here and would say paying a little extra is worth it. I recommend seeing Dr Butler when you make your appointment. She is honest, explains things very clearly and is an absolute joy to work with. The office is always very busy but I never feel rushed by her. I've had other doctors at this practice who I have liked who no longer work there. I'm not sure why so many other doctors have left the practice but I hope Morris Eye Group is able to keep her from leaving as well. Looking forward to my next appointment. read more

I did not want them to get any stars. Please read as I don't want others to go through what I did I went to Morris Eye Group for a regular check up towards the end of august. I took my prescription as always to Costco. When I got them and put them on I immediately got a migraine. The people at Costco said oh my they put a spectrum to the highest amount on your prescription and your never had this before. After much arguing on the phone with Morris eye group as they said that wasn't true they finally took that off the prescription so when I went to get them a second time at Costco. They were still wrong! I went have to their office and they said no they were right and made me feel like I was in the wrong because I count see. So after being rather loud they finally let me see an other doctor. He wrote a new prescription without saying sorry we were wrong twice can we refill the glass. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. So once again Costco refilled them for free and sadly it doesn't end here. They were wrong again really!! Yes. So I paid to go to the Costco eye doctors who wrote me yet another prescription. And yes Costco refill them for free now the fourth time. And finally I got my new glasses. And yes I can see but it's now October! These people don't really care about you or your vision and will do nothing to help you. Only make it seem like it's your fault when it is definitely theirs. So spare the time and aggravation and go somewhere else. This is my first time writing on Yelp but everyone needs to be forewarned about this eye group. We only one set of eyes! read more

The staff here is friendly and helpful. They strike a good balance between educating you on your eyesight and being efficient. I did have to wait awhile to see the doctor, but they were nice about reassuring me I would be seen soon. The women who help pick out eye glasses have been helpful and patient. However I had to spend most of my time for optometry to issue me a new prescription for eye glasses and was forced to buy the new lens with an outraged cost, $400+ from me plus insurance pay, and refused to give me the prescription for the glasses. My main experience is with Dr. Crosby. (I was with her since before she joined Morris Eye Group). I can't say enough good stuff about Dr. Crosby. I have had two Cataracts done now by her (and I'm not an old guy - but I think too much surfing over the years). Making the decision as to which lenses (once I decided to go for it) is hard as there are some different options now. But she helped me decide on the best one for me. Very happy and I can see like a young guy again. No more glasses or contacts! read more

The motto for Morris Eye Group is, "The doctor's time is more important than the patient - and we'll prove it to you." Yes, once you actually see a doctor the care and their knowledge/expertise is good - but the process of seeing a doctor is so painful you'll start to question if vision is all that important. I was once kept waiting at their Oceanside office for 2 hours and 45 minutes, simply because they were "very busy." When you visit again, you'll learn they are always "very busy", so long waits are the norm. I would recommend using them if you are retired and have nothing more important to do in your life than wait in an office. Otherwise, find another doctor - becaue Morris Eye Group doesn't care about customer service. read more

While other medical settings make me feel like just a number (lots of folks in a waiting room, long waits, a doctor who barely looks you in the eye and just asks their routine questions, takes notes, then tells you something you already knew), I felt welcomed and cared for every step of the way at Morris Eye Group. The receptionist was welcoming & kind. The tech who screened me was thoughtful, thorough, personable and answered all my questions without question, attitude or hesitation. And the doctor treated me like I was the only patient he had that day. I recommended Morris Eye Group to my entire family and all my friends!
