What a great dinner!!! Very clean and very friendly. Small dinning area but it was perfect. Everything tasted very fresh and delicious. Food came out quickly. The restrooms were very clean and it was a great stop to eat. Recommend this place if you are driving down this area. Coffee was also tasty. My husband was very happy with the cheeseburger.

Eggs and machaca

The food was absolutely delicious, and the friendly service made the experience even better. The prices are really reasonable, and the generous portion sizes ensure you leave satisfied.

Did I hike @Old Glory Peak nearby and this cafe is Conveniently located nearby on the main road. So coming here was planned. Of course we looked it up on Yelp before going ahead, so had an idea of what to order. Upon looking at the menu, it was nice to see a good amount of selection for anyone with certain cravings. I already had it in my head the Banana Crunch French toast which completely hit the spot. They offer a half size but I'm glad I stuck with the full size which completely satiated my craving. It is small inside but that is what makes it quaint and fits perfectly with the aesthetic of the town. There was one other party in there when we arrived but before we left. I would say it was at seventy five percent capacity by the time we finished. It being small, you'll be close sitting close to other people and hear their conversations. Not really a big deal for us. It seemed as though it was just one server and one cook and another guy bussing and watching over the place. But makes sense that's all they need for the size of the cafe. Service was good, inside is nice. Food selection is good. Wouldn't mind coming back and trying something else, even though the French toast I got was great. Only thing was the tuna melt was whatever. Would say pass on that. But an overall nice, post hike food option.

Solid food, amazing service by Sandra. Quiet and calm ambience, it's a small town diner. The chicken fried steak was a little bit too hard to chew for me, but it seems like almost everything is scratch made.

Country fried steak

The stars are simply for the service. The 2 female waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The food was horrible. Hands down the WORST country fried steak I've ever had. There was almost no breading and what was there was soggy. The meat was hard. Literally tough to cut through. I only took 2 bites of that. My boyfriend agreed how terrible it was. The country potatoes were plain. Most places cook them with onions and peppers, not here. Barely seasoned. The eggs and toast were fine. But I mean, it's eggs and toast. Overall I wouldn't come here again. Even with the friendly service.

Place is clean. Service is good and they have a good variety on the menu. The soup of the day is homemade.

This bakery, with its wonderful baker-owners, Julia and Ian, is probably the best thing to happen…read morein YV since we first moved up into Burns Canyon 17 years ago. The bread, pastries (sweet and savoury!), cookies, cake (carrot!) and then also their amazing sandwiches, well, it is all to die for. During my 40+ minute drive down from the canyon I am thinking the whole time, 'What should I get today?' And so looking forward to eating it. About the sourdough bread (everything here is sourdough of course)... I have been baking sourdough bread, using the same starter, for the last 16 years (along with waffles and pancakes and biscuits) -- inspired by what I first found at San Francisco's Tartine and soon after at Luna -- and Luna's bread continues to inspire me (I wish I could bake it so perfectly every time). If you are in YV, Joshua Tree, Pioneertown (on your way to and from Pappy and Harriet's maybe?) and vicinity, do not miss the opportunity to visit Luna Sourdough Bakery.

I can't believe I'm gonna say this (because who complains about too much food), but. There was way too much brie. Like, it was a whole brick o' brie in it. Just...too much. I think it would have been perfect with like, half of it. Again, I can't believe I'm complaining about generosity, but there you have it. Hey Luna, trying to save y'all some resources (or something). Otherwise, things were delicious, as expected. Their water container, which I guess has an intricate filtration system, takes a LONG time to filter water after it's filled. We parked on the street, as the parking lot was very small, but there is plenty of street parking. Bathroom is singular, single-stalled, and not gendered.

Okay, being totally honest, this wasn't the absolute best food of our entire Joshua Tree-Palm…read moreSprings trip, but a close 2nd. BUT it was definitely the biggest, most positive surprise when it came to expectations vs. actual quality! We landed in Palm Springs late in the evening and were starving on our way out to Joshua Tree. After a quick Yelp search for something open past 7-8pm, this spot popped up. We pulled into a super quiet parking lot and found this tiny little place. Looking at it from the outside, we honestly figured it would just be a quick, forgettable pitstop. Boy, were we wrong. For starters, the place was relatively full for a Tuesday evening! We ordered the duck confit nachos, the kimchi bulgogi sandwich, and the pony wings. Wow! Granted, our expectations were unfairly low walking in, but this turned out to be probably our second-best meal of the entire week--and we ate out every single day! It absolutely crushed it in terms of exceeding expectations. It also helped that we happened to be there on a Wednesday, so all the wines were half-priced! Unfortunately, since we weren't familiar with the area, we didn't know exactly how much further we had to drive to our accommodations, so we couldn't imbibe more in such a welcoming environment. (Missed opportunity, but safety first!) Oh, and definitely save room for dessert--their pie with ice cream of the day was delicious too! If you are passing through, do not sleep on this place. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in the area!
