This is a tiny local cafe/coffee shop type of place. After I seated myself I was as quickly greeted and asked what I wanted to drink. The menu has all the usual breakfast offerings as does the lunch items. My breakfast was served hot and just how I ordered it. Coffee was good and refills kept coming. Another place we came on our desert trip hoping that it would be bad... but it wasn't. Grilled cheese sandwiches and french fries were $3.75 each! 3 people ate for $15 with drinks. We were the only ones in here. It's also a "museum". lol. It has all these framed pictures on the wall that tell the history of the Morongo Valley. Decided to come here based on the stellar Yelp reviews, which we were a little suspicious of since there weren't that many and they were all 5 stars. But we were happy to find out they were well deserved. The service was quick, attentive, and friendly, and the menu--which has just the right amount of selections--is peppered with funny Dad kind of humor that makes you smile as you pick your fare. The vegetable omelet came topped with nicely ripe avocado and perfectly sauteed vegetables (we'd ordered it without cheese, but it does come with it); scrambled eggs had just the right, slightly moist consistency; and the blackberry and strawberry pancakes were extra fluffy and not too enormous (the eggs come with pancakes as an option, by the way, or even biscuits and gravy!). All in all, a great experience, and, coming from LA, you really cannot beat the price. Two people came away stuffed and filled with coffee for $21. Definitely recommend this place, worth the drive from Yucca Valley or Joshua Tree proper. We stopped by on our way back to LA and it was the perfect choice. read more

We love this place for breakfast! Blueberry pancakes with fresh strawberries on top make me want to dance...yum yum yum! Biscuits and gravy are also great with eggs and sausage patties...very tasty! I had a classic, tasty Denver omelet and she had eggs over medium (cooked perfectly) and "garden" hash browns (topped with cheese, peppers, onions and mushrooms). Perfect little spot for breakfast! Portions are great and all food prepared as ordered. My blueberry pancakes were fluffy and light and not too sweet. Coffee isn't strong, but tastes clean and smooth. Servers are genuine and attentive. They were a bit delayed with our bacon for the kids and, sent two extra slices to make up for it. I love this place! I've been here on several occasions and I have never been let down. The spinach, mushroom and swiss omelette I order is without a doubt the best omelette I've ever had in my life. You may be wondering how you can screw up an omelette with so few ingredients but you'd be surprised. The omelettes are never greasy! They're just fluffy and fabulous. Perfect brunch spot to enjoy your weekly helping of grease and carbs. 4 of us ladies devoured a three stack of pancakes, corned beef hash with eggs, 4 sausages, 3 biscuits and gravy. I've eaten here several times and it's been great every time. Dining area is simple with dining tables and a counter. Honey nut crunch French toast is over the top delicious and decadent. My husband gets the corned beef hash plate and pancakes. He says the hash is delicious and the pancakes are great. There bacon cheeseburger and fries are on point. My dad doesn't rave about too much, so when he said that we had to go to the Morongo Valley Cafe for "the best french toast I've ever had", I had to go. It was a very cute diner and the drive was quick from Palm Springs. I had the original French toast and it was amazing. The bread was so thick and soft and so good. My dad had some kind of banana crunch French toast. He said they were famous for them and I can see why. It's worth the drive every time. read more

What a lovely little spot for breakfast! We stayed overnight at a nearby ranch and decided to stop for a bite. I had a delicious turkey BLT with avocado and fries as a side. My boyfriend had scrambled eggs, a sausage patty and the garden potatoes. He says the garden potatoes were outstanding. Our coffee was also above average and the service was fantastic. I believe our main server was Ruben and he noticed that my sandwich had mayo on it (I'd asked for mustard instead) and had it re-made before he brought it to me. Everyone was pleasant and polite. This is the Cafe to eat at folks, their food is OUT OF SITE!! Stopped here in May and was treated so nicely when walking in by head waitress and staff. The Chef here knows what he's doing when it comes to cheeseburgers,patty melts,sausage biscuits,onion rings and french fries,mmmmmmmmmm,delicious. While dining here you will see lots of pictures of John Wayne,some of his clothes, a wonderful picture history of their little cafe and small town. After lunch stroll on over to the one and only thrift store there a few blocks down the highway. Lots of deals there. I highly recommend this place. read more

Late this morning my partner and I decided to stop and try out this small cafe on our way to Yucca Valley. We had a very pleasant experience. My partner ordered the biscuits and gravy while I kept with a standard bacon cheeseburger. The burger was really great!! And not all burgers are great - many barely are okay in restaurants and cafe's!! The burger tasted almost charbroiled and the bun was toasted on the grill with a thin smear of mayo that had melted into the bun. The biscuits and gravy were excellent, biscuits seemed homemade - very light. Will go again. read more

This place is definitely a mom's kitchen type cafe. Comfort food and for a great price. The atmosphere of the place is cozy, yet bright and open. The staff is very friendly and the food was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. I was debating between bacon, eggs and pancakes and the breakfast burrito. Diane said the pancakes were really good and frequently ordered but that she ate the burrito a lot.
