Their burger really satisfied my burger craving. The bun was perfectly toasted, patty was juicy, and veggies fresh. Their french fries were crispy and not overly salty. My family opted for the burger/sandwich of the day -- French dip with side of homemade chips. Their chips were crunchy and not too oily, but they were a tad salty for me. They had a display of many different locally made desserts (cakes, cupcakes, cookies), although they're not made in house. Staff is very friendly. They check in often and our water cups never hit empty. They have parking spaces on both sides of their building. read more

This is the restaurant that you see just as you come up that hill.. right up at the top ... coming from Palm Springs .., you can feel the elevation suddenly and that can make you dizzy. I stopped here because I felt a tad dizzy coming up that hill and I had to stop for a minute, buy a bottled water and hope that hydration would fix it, It did ..,AND I discovered a really nice cafe with super nice people working there. I wish I had a place like this closer to home. Stopped by after roaming the deserts of Joshua Tree and boy this was an oasis of great food and great people. Do not skip the cauliflower bites and make sure you try the teriyaki and ranch TOGETHER. (Shoutout to Valerie who suggested it!) Somehow it just works. The pizza was huge and delicious with a crispy/chewy crust, my son and husband inhaled their burgers and my fruit market salad was so fresh and perfectly balanced! We plan on making a trip to Joshua Tree an annual event, will definitely make sure to keep a meal at Just a Small Town Grill part of the yearly tradition! Staff super friendly and helpful, the food was good we got a BBQ burger and salad. Burger was overcooked making it a bit dry but it was tasty meat and the bacon was perfect, smoky abd crispy/chewy, and the homemade chips were awesome! read more

We drove past the restaurant on our way to Joshua Tree for a little hike and once we saw the name we knew where we would be having lunch on our way back! What a great name-especially if you're as old as we are, lol. We stopped in, greeted and told to sit anywhere. The restaurant is small and super cute. Very clean and inviting. Our server came over for our drink order and gave us a minute to look at the menu. We all picked something different for lunch. I had the Italian grinder with potato salad- one of the best potato salads ever! It was so good and so big I couldn't finish it! My friends had a burger with potato salad and a black bean burger, he said the guacamole on that black bean burger was amazing, he had the homemade potato chips. At the end of our lunch the owner came out and chatted with us for quite a while. We loved him and his restaurant! Headed out of town for the weekend, I left it up to my co-pilots to find a suitable sport for lunch... Just a Small Town Grill was their pick. We got lucky - it turned out to be a lovely stop just off the highway. Traveling with our little dog, they had a dog-friendly patio out back and it was perfect! Shaded, clean, and protected with a fence, we sat outside and enjoyed our meal. Most importantly, they were so kind and welcoming, they asked if our dog would like a little chicken to nibble along with some water - how sweet! I must say, the staff was kind, efficient and accommodating. I told our waitress upon leaving, "I'm not sure which was better the food or the service?!" Both were great! Now for the food... My son ordered a pastrami sandwich with crinkle fries - both were excellent! The pastrami was thick cut, juicy and delicious. My wife and I shared a Greek salad - freshly made with generous amounts of ingredients (I think I ate more than my share, it was outstanding!) And a pizza - Konrad's Kombo, a combination of meat and veggies - it was delicious too! Together, my crew (including our dog) had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed our stop at Just a Small Town Grill. And thankfully, I wasn't travelling with a few of my fellow Yelpers who inflict their shitty opinions on a small business trying to make a living away from the big city. Love the pizza take out at Just A Small Town Grill in Morongo Valley but their dine in breakfast is over the top! After oozing over their menu for 5+ minutes I finally decided between 6 or 7 possibles. We'll be back to try the others! Breakfast service was efficient if not quite as down home friendly as the evening, pizza crew we're regularly spoiled by & it took a little while to get the breakfast but it was almost "too beautiful to eat" & was absolutely outstanding in all respects. When to Just a Small Town Grill, today with my wife and daughter for lunch. I was amazingly surprised at the quality and quantity of the food. We started off with deep fried pickles they were amazing ! My daughter had the Antipasto Salad it was huge ! My wife had the Hawaiian Burger she couldn't stop saying how delicious it was. I had IPA with the Italian Grinder it was packed with meat and the feta vinaigrette added a great taste and the role was a specialty role they have wow ! We met Jim and Stacy the owners they are very welcoming and they gave us an order of Cauliflower Bites and they were delicious ! The feel of the place is truly inviting! It was our last day in Palm Springs and we wanted some good food . Something we found that was hard to find while in Palm Springs. There's plenty of parking front of the restaurant, there's air conditioning inside and helpful staff. We felt welcomed and our waitress went above and beyond. Ordered a cauliflower veggie pizza. This was my first time visiting Just a Small Town Grill and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish! What a gem!! The food was incredible--packed with flavor and clearly made with care. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had a warm, inviting vibe. The restaurant was spotless, and you could really feel the sense of community. We finally got around to trying this place, and it we had a fantastic experience. I ordered the meatball sub, my daughter the grilled cheese, and her friend had the fried pickles. The ambiance was nice, the air conditioning working well, and the server was extraordinarily friendly, as was the owner. I expected a typical meatball sub, with the typical flavor, and was surprised at how delicious it was. Onion rings were also delicious. STG knows what running a locally-owned business is all about, we look fwd to many more meals here. Their BBQ cauliflower wings, their stuffed tots, and cheese bread are amazing! We would come back just for those appetizers alone. We had a pepperoni pizza and it was nothing special. So save your money there and skip. Better off with a dominos pepperoni for half the price. Their left ac unit by the hall near the restroom was on and splashing water out onto us. So I would avoid sitting there during warmer months. Out front they had lemon trees that looked sad and neglected with shriveled lemons on it which is a missed opportunity for them to incorporate fresh grown lemons into their establishment. I brought my plastic in the original bottle, water bottle with me in and the lady says "you can't have that in here it's against health code" as she's sitting us. It took every ounce of me not to laugh in her face. She should have just said we prefer you to buy our water bottles instead. Not lie about it being "health code". PSA: Here to inform you it is not against ANY California health code to bring in your own water bottle in its original container. An establishment claiming that is lying to its customers. All establishments have rules they can make about no outside drinks as it does affect their profit. But it is in no way a violation of health code in the state of California. read more

I am a local in Morongo Valley. I placed an order to be picked up and the person who took the order seemed very disinterested. we ordered two pizzas, the Konrad with no peppers and an alfredo pizza with pepperoni. When my husband got home, the Konrad pizza had peppers on it and the pepperoni pizza had NO sauce. We have been trying to call for the last 40 minutes and no response. I guess you have to be there in person to get what you want to order. read more
