I ordered the 8 ounce New York steak and eggs with crispy home fries. Steak was cooked, medium rare as I requested perfectly done eggs over easy and nice crisp potatoes. Overall quite a good deal for around 18 bucks or so. My friend ordered Huevos Rancheros. It looks very good and he said it was delicious. The service is friendly and timely. I think this is a hidden gem in Desert Hot Springs.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing. It was clean, just a little outdated. I particularly loved the framed kitten art on the walls. I kept looking around for more to keep me entertained. I ordered Eggs Benedict. It was average. The Hollandiase sauce tasted like it came from a can. Again, not a bad thing, but if you wanted to step up your game, making it fresh wouldn't be a bad idea. Spouse orders pancakes where ever we go. They said they were a little dry and not their favorite. Coffee was also average. The creamers on the table seemed hard to come by. If I were in town again, I might try them for lunch and see if that's any better. We had a good time in Yucca Valley. C&S Coffee Shop is just average.

It was a Thursday morning but they were extremely packed. It probably was the rush after the meteor shower evening. I ordered the country fried steak, my friends ordered the lemonade (homemade but SUPER TART!!), the last biscuits and gravy (this was gonna be my order too!), and the veggie omelet, and we ordered a regular French toast to share. Their homemade biscuit was hefty, but the gravy matched the biscuit. The workers were friendly and helpful when asking questions and for assistance. I loved all the homey decor, and the pictures. I was so happy to see a picture of Anthony Bourdain stopped here! Would definitely recommend coming here if you're on a stop into Joshua Tree.

Unfortunately, the food was just okay and definitely not worth waiting that long for. We did end up getting a few of our drinks comped, which I appreciated. Other than that, the pancakes were pretty mediocre, and the biscuits and gravy were just okay. Overall, I wouldn't recommend waiting that long for the food.

Our server was friendly when we first arrived, but there was a misunderstanding about my drink, and I ended up receiving the wrong one. When I asked if it could be changed, the interaction felt a little uncomfortable, and I didn't feel that she was very happy about having to replace the drink. As for the food, I ordered the noodle salad, but unfortunately it wasn't quite to my taste. It was heavily dressed and quite salty. The beef skewers and fries were good out of everything else Overall, while we really wanted to love this place, our experience with both the food and service was disappointing. We missed our reservation time but decided to try a walk in because it was the whole reason we came into town in the first place. We were greeted by two really nice hosts who assured us there was room for us sooner than later and we were seated with our dog on the patio pretty quickly. They were so nice to us and doubly nice to our dog! We ordered fried eggplant, gazpacho, ceviche, a lamb burger, and got a lamb burger patty for the dog (we're not order food for the dog people but she was going through it too with the Walmart stuff so why not). We added a couple glasses of wine and their beer shandy and finished with a strawberry shortcake. Every bite was perfect but we rated them- Gazpacho, Lamb Burger, Eggplant, Ceviche. The gazpacho was a hit with the perfect amount of fresh/sweet cantaloupe and spicy-ness. This place was well worth the trip from Big Bear. My wife noted that everyone there that helped us legit looked happy to be there. There was also a medical emergency and the staff was so kind and helpful throughout and checked in on all the tables in the area afterwards. It kind of showed that they are invested in the people that visit.
