Everything about this restaurant is Amazing!! The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, the tea is out of this world. If I lived close enough this would be my daily lunch spot. The food smells amazing when it wafts into the open dining.* I've since finished eating and let me say, hands down this is the best Thanksgiving I've had since my grandmother passed away. The food was off the charts and the dessert were to die for.10/10 would recommend to any and everyone. Portions were great and the food was even better

One of the best restaurants! Amazing ambience, customer service that makes you feel right at home, and flavorful food that is out of this world! I can't say enough great things to do it justice! It's a must, time and time again!

You don't need to take a trip to Casablanca or Marrakech to sample a taste of Morocco. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem while in San Antonio. It's located at an unassuming strip mall along in a busy commercial district. When you walk in, you are greeted by a multitude of photos and cultural memorabilia adorning the walls. One photo in particular captured my attention - the one featuring none other than Guy Fieri. Come to find out, he showcased this establishment on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! The owner is a kind lady who immediately seats you with a smile. The interior is inviting and has ample seating throughout. I looked over the menu, which featured a variety of classic Moroccan dishes from soups to tagine, and everything in between. I started with a large mint tea, a specialty drink that typically encompasses loose leaf gunpowder green tea steeped with mint leaves and sugar. As I wasn't very hungry, I opted for a side of lentils. When the pot of tea arrived, it was brought to the table on a tray and poured into a short decorative glass! Although hot, the first sip flooded my taste buds with bliss and joy! The fusion of mint and tea leaves with just the right amount of sugar was sensational, refreshing, and quite satisfying. Next, complementary bread was brought out, after which came the lentils. The lentils were adequately portioned and were both savory and abundantly filling. There were so many more items on the menu that I wanted to try, but I left most of my appetite at home. If you're looking for a change of pace and want to take a leap of faith, try this wonderful restaurant and leave amazed at the flavor and creativity behind some of North Africa's best cuisine.

It's been a while since I had the opportunity to enjoy this place and it was worth the wait. As always the staff is so nice and attentive. The entrees were prepared to perfection. The lamb with prunes was a first. The spices and tenderness of the lamb was so savory. The basmati rice complimented the dish nicely. I can't resist the mint tea never pass on having this with my meal. First time having the Chicken with olives and fries. It was amazing. The appetizer of filled puffed pastry will be a new favorite for sure.

    Lamb Shank with Apricot

I have been here twice and both times were amazing! The service and people are almost as good as the food! The food tastes like someone really loves making it. This time I had the lamb shank with apricot. The meat was fall off the bone tender and seasoned so well, but the flavor of the lamb came through. The broth it was served it was so delicious I could just drink it out of the bowl and be happy. The apricots on top really kicked it up a notch (same with the lamb shank with dates). My brother had the chicken pastilla. I was hesitant about it because of the powdered sugar, but I tasted his and I don't know how it all came together but it did! I was kinda sad I didn't order that, until I tasted my dish again, and fell in love with it all over again. The love from the owner and people working there is so warm and welcoming. The restaurant is also spotlessly clean and all of the ingredients are fresh and wonderful. If you want to try Moroccan food, GO HERE!

The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Service was phenomenal and prices are fair. The restaurant ambience is relaxing. I am a Caribbean man and am no stranger to flavors and seasonings and my god this food was seasoned so well I can not recommend this enough. Must eat here thank you for the phenomenal service we WILL be back

    Merguez Sandwich

Came here after watching the DDD episode on TV. My wife and I are always looking forward to trying new cuisines. We placed the order online and picked up Moroccan hummus and merguez sandwich. The Moroccan hummus was delicious. It was more of a soup than hummus but still great as an appetizer. The sandwich was good too, especially after adding some heat. Overall would recommend coming here to anyone wanting to try a different type of cuisine.

Niçoise salad and side of carrots

I uber a Nicoise salad and a side of carrots.. first time trying this restaurant. I would absolutely recommend! Delicious and fresh flavors!

    Mint tea, staple of Morocco

Amazing! The food is delicious, real Moroccan flavor. The service is exceptional. The ladies are so friendly and they'll take care of you. I love the atmosphere, it's very comfortable. Don't forget the mint tea when you go!

Positives: The food is VERY GOOD. First experience with Moroccan food and it was really tasty. The service was very good as well. UNFORTUNATELY, the downside comes at the END as you're paying. We were TRIPLE charged for a 6 pack of Macaroons. Additionally they do not tell you this, but it is stated at the bottom of your receipt that is emailed AFTER you complete your card transaction they TACK on an 18% "Service Fee" (included on EVERY ticket without notice). if you are the type who TIPS your wait staff like I do our waitress just got a 38% or $44 tip for serving 3 adults a pot of hot tea, 2 meals (1 was shared), and some deserts. I'm

Vegan Tagine (back), Vegan Couscous (front)
    Meg F.

Nadia helped curate the perfect vegan meal. We shared the Veggie Tagine which was so rich in flavor and chock full of stewed veggies, with a side of the basmati rice. The rice alone was so flavorful that the combo knocked it out of the park. We also split the vegan couscous. It had similar ingredients to the Tagine but was such a totally different flavor profile. I definitely suggest trying both! The serving size of each dish could easily feed 2 people, but if you are hungry like we were, you will not leave anything on your plates. We finished it off with an assortment of vegan baklavas and pastries, which were also so delicious and not overly sweet. The service was top notch, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was so lovely.

Our twelve guests ranged in age from 14-79 years, and everyone had a wonderful experience. We began with waters for the table, soft drinks, and cocktails/mocktails (Man Walks into a Bar, Amba No. 5, Don Alberto, Green Shug Collins). Due to our large party, we had booked a chef's tasting experience, which was spectacular. The appetizers were plentiful, flavorful, and unique. Our server, Anissa, did a wonderful job of explaining each dish-- its components, highlights, even suggesting that after finishing the beef dumplings, we stir the oil and yogurt together for an amazing pita dipping sauce. Our meal included four meats-- actually five, considering an off menu chef's creation for our pescatarian guest. It was such an immersive experience, I never took out my phone to capture photos of the food (or our group, sadly). Three desserts topped off the evening. When (not if) we return, we'll certainly request Anissa again. She made the evening a complete delight, even bringing out celebratory candles for our honored guests.

The hummus with the fresh pita was probably my favorite part of the meal, and the grilled skewers had a really nice char without being dry. The Turkish coffee was also strong and really good. Service was quick and servers paid attention to detail. Great place for date night or hanging out with friends. Plenty of great food options to choose from. Glad I tried it because the quality was amazing!

I had high hopes b/c the high rating and ordered the original gyro based on the recommendation. When I got my O.G., I wasn't OMG'd at all. Although I am not an expert on moroccan food, my taste buds are experts on food in general. The second time, my friend ordered the Chicka Chicka Bang Bang and offered me some to try. I liked the name Chicka Chicka Bang Bang and thought I was going to do a bang bang dance after putting the Chicka Chicka in my mouth. But again I thought it was A-OK. Apparently my friend was pretty unhappy about what she was eating (that's probably why she offered it to me, J/K). It doesn't feel like a strip mall restaurant. It feels intentional. The pastry case alone deserves its own review. Piped butter cookies, rose-dotted squares dusted with cardamom, delicate filled rolls -- it's the kind of display that makes you order dessert before you've even sat down. And then the food. The chicken shawarma bowl is not playing around -- seasoned chicken, kalamata olives, crumbled feta, creamy garlic sauce over a bed of greens, finished with cracked pepper. Every bite is layered and bold. The kind of meal that makes you pause mid-fork and just appreciate it. What sets Tripoli's apart isn't just the food or the ambiance. It's that the whole experience feels curated. Like someone who actually loves this culture built this place and meant every single detail. San Antonio has been sleeping on this gem. Wake up!!

The ambiance was great, everything from the decorative rugs, Arab writing on the wall, tagine pottery and brass crafts were perfectly displayed. The tabbouleh salad was very tasty, it had the right amount of ingredients making it pretty as well as colorful placed in the neat brass metal bowl. Now with the things that require immediate remedial attention: 1. The burger was overrated, overcooked and dry. 2. The chick pea salad lacked chick peas, dressing, onions and feta cheese. 3. The lamb Kofta plate was prepared right however, it was not enough meat for the price and the cream sauce tasted like straight butter with a hint of garlic. The pita bread was lukewarm and looked like it had been unwrapped, quartered and thrown in a microwave for 30 seconds prior to serving it. 4. Drinks Ordered: The Cafe' Arabia was very tasty BUT, I didn't get it until we were almost done with our meal. We ordered drinks when we were first seated so that was a big red flag. My wife also ordered the Moroccan mint teapot and she didn't get it until after I got my coffee. I told the barista/waiter to cancel it when I got my coffee but he said it was also ready for us and could put it in a to-go cup for her. That kind of defeated the whole experience of drinking tea while waiting for our meal. 5. The service was really slow. Took over 15 minutes to get our (tap) waters and 20 minutes for our food when we were the only ones in the restaurant until we had placed our order. 6. The waitress needs some serious people skills and bussing training to know how to serve food and drinks. She touched the tops of the glasses her fingers. She didn't greet us and practically dropped the plates on the table when she brought them out. To add insult to injury, she put the handheld pay device on the table without asking us if we wanted or needed anything else. My kids wanted to try out some desserts, so luckily for us, the nearby HEB has plenty to offer. I had high hopes for this place because of what the owner posted on Instagram and it is so close to our neighborhood. Guess we will have to continue driving further into the city to other Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern restaurants that have better food and service.
