Not a good experience ordering takeout from this well reviewed place. I've eaten here before, but this review only covers my most recent experience. Ordered an entree, extra rice and a vegetable side. The vegetable side was $7 and wasn't even cut the way it was last time, or in the dish preview. Chopped instead of cut. And the portion was minuscule. That's a running theme. Overpriced dishes restive to the portion size. I guess they thought it was a takeout order, so they can short the portion? Very cute family owned restaurant with traditional decor. They check your temperature at the door and the seating is spaced out. This was my first time eating Moroccan food and I loved it. This place was ecstatic, I loved this vibe, and the ambience. The ladies inside, were very lovely, and super busy. They have good insight on what to order for first timers. The most uncomfortable meal I ever had. No welcome to begin with. Kids were not given a menu (kids are old enough to read and order). Owner was the chef and server. The rudest. Over rated and over priced, I don't know why Guy Fieri came here for his show but when we went there it sucked and was super expensive. *Meh Moroccan* Like many others I flocked to this Mediocre Moroccan establishment because of the Diner and Dives Episode featured multiple times on the Food Network.... Guy has a history of saying food is great but I realize now that he has to say those things as to not hurt the chef's feelings.. I visited Moroccan Bites yesterday at the request of a friend and was greeted rudely upon entering the door. I did not know my party was already seated and when the hostess approached me she gruffly asked me if she could help me and when I said I was waiting on my party she turned away without another word. My party waved me over and I sat down to browse the menu. The waitress approached and was very rude when she took the orders .. I asked for the Sunday special of Rotisserie chicken and rice and she gruffly replied we're out of the Special .. I was like how can you be out of the special when it's 1300 and you opened at 1200. She said you can have the other chicken and rice which surprisingly cost more than the Sunday special. I then asked for the Chicken Bites and she said that its going to take 25 mins but so is everyone else's food so you can order it if you like. I wanted to try it as I knew I'd not be returning any time soon and also grabbed two mini macaroons at a stiff price of $2.99. (Get them from Bakery Lorraine *Better Price and quantity) .. The food was decent but not worth the $27 I forked over and I can't say it was the best I've had with the military travels I've had around the world. I didn't feel welcome by the hostess and as I was paying the cashier said we've already added the 18% tip in... Disclaimer: This is the first time I've had Moroccan food, so I am by no means an expert. That being said, Moroccan Bites was absolutely wonderful! The outside isn't much to look at, but immediately upon entering you feel like you've stepped into a completely different place. The ceilings are fairly high, the hanging lamps and decorated pillars are gorgeous, and the decorations are very aesthetically pleasing. It seems to be a very authentic Moroccan food place, with very friendly staff, although service is a bit slow. As for the food, I ordered the Chicken Tagin with Vegetables and saffron rice (~12$). It was absolutely delicious! The chicken was very tender, the vegetables were juicy and flavorful, and the combination of spices that they use really make the dish very unique. If you ask for hot sauce, they bring out a house special sauce that really adds that extra kick that brings the meal over the top. read more

Great place for limited dining in during the mask malarkey. Service was spot on and the Marguez Sandwich is delicious. Home made sausage was spicy and delicious. I've only been here once and don't have anything to compare it to so take this review as you will. I came in for lunch during the week. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant which was great. Like many people I saw this restaurant featured on that one tv show a few years back and have always meant to stop by. I'm glad I did. I ordered the lamb shank tagine with vegetables. As I looked over the menu, the very friendly server/owner? asked if I had questions. I asked what a tagine was and was informed that it's a stew in a little pot. It sounded good, so I ordered it. For those of you who like soda, they don't have fountain drinks, so you'll get a can of soda. Not a big deal but something of which to be aware. My order came out promptly and smelled delicious. Here is where things get subjective: While the dish itself was quite good, I thought it was rather bland. With all the spices in the stew, the lamb itself tasted plain. I think, I can't say for certain, that the lamb is cooked separately from the stew itself so the meat doesn't soak up any flavor from the stew itself. As a whole, the dish needed a lot of salt. Perhaps it's just me, but I like big, bold flavors and I think the chef held back (or perhaps that's just how the food is prepared. I don't know.). After I salted the dish properly, or perhaps to my taste, it was great. The lamb was cooked well as were the vegetables, both extremely tender. In all, after I seasoned the dish, I enjoyed it. Your palate and miles may vary. I will come back to Moroccan Bites simply because I enjoyed the atmosphere--I felt very welcome because of the service. I didn't try any of their desserts because it was lunch, but I will the next time I eat here. One note: I wish they had lunch specials. I think that would be a good idea. For my meal, I paid $15. That's on the high side for lunch. I'd gladly pay that and more for dinner. But lunch? read more

Took our whole family so we got to try the appetizer plate with several different choices - really love the potato salad, carrots and chick peas - amazing flavors. The women manning the restaurant were well versed with what is served as well as every aspect of the history of this place (has won numerous awards and been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives). What a great find this is! Went with a party of 10 and we rented the Marrakesh room, which seats up to 20. It's furnished almost like a private home in Morocco. Couches along three walls, pillows, a couple of stools for seating on the floors. Very warm and cozy. There's a fee for the room, which includes your tea -- the mint tea is amazing! -- and several plates of appetizers. $100 for the package, which is $10/head for our part of 10. Then we ordered the food and shared all the plates: lamb tagine, the meat combo (lamb, chicken, kefta kebabs), lamb couscous, pickled vegetables, merguez, and chicken in a pastry with cinammon and sugar. All of it was delicious! There's a smaller room, to, for up to 8 that runs $50. When you rent the rooms, you have them for four or five hours, no rushing you out of the space. There's also plenty of standard table seating. As is customary in Morocco, no alcohol served or allowed. We'll definitely be back! read more
