    Hangover Bowl
    Zara T.

Stopped in on a Saturday morning and we were seated right away. They had a nice outdoor space, though we ended up sitting in a booth. Service was quick and friendly staff. I ordered the hangover bowl and it definitely hit the spot! Not sure about parking in this area but it's close to other spots, like the movie theater, so you could walk around the area if you wanted.

    Omelettes with side of fruit.

What a hidden gem! Love this place. Food is outstanding- big, tasty portions. The juices are freshly squeezed and the side of fruit so tasty- not your typical. Service was spot on with Jasmine- sweet, knowledgeable and efficient. restaurant situated on a little cul de sac. 100% recommend

Food was great... had the Skirt Steak and Eggs Benedict (amazing) Our server Birdi was the best. So nice, honest, accommodating... all the good things. We came back the next day for breakfast and she was our sever again. Very good place for breakfast.

Salmon Benedict & chicken waffles. So delicious!

Beautiful weather, great service, good tunes. Thanks for having a great breakfast place near our hotel.

We absolutely love my brunch at Morning Squeeze in Tempe! The vibe is super chill with a fun, retro feel, and the staff was genuinely friendly from the moment we walked in. I tried the breakfast platter, which was classic, and the fresh-squeezed OJ was a winner. The coffee smoothie was solid too, and my friend's gluten free pancakes were fluffy and delicious. I'd say 4.5/5 -- Only reason it's not a full 5 stars is it took a long while for the food to come out but honestly, that's part of the food being fresh. Highly recommend for a laid-back, tasty breakfast or brunch spot!

This little spot sits on a dead end road with the entrance all the way around the back. They offer plenty of outdoor sitting which we took full advantage of. The server was nice, very knowledgeable of the menu items. We ordered the Strawberry Banana Smoothie, water and a lemonade. Then we ordered the Fruit and Pastry Platter to share and that was enough to fill up the 3 of us. And the presentation was beautiful as well. The muffins and cinnamon roll came out hot. There was a side of butter and a side of lemon sauce. Don't skip that lemon sauce with the fruit. Perfect combination! They also sell shirts that are pretty cool.

I really expected this place to be good and I was disappointed. I got the hangover bowl and it was just okay. There was a lot going on in the bowl and I expected more flavor. The barbacoa was at least good. Now I got a side pancake....and it wasn't even cooked all the way through. I thought Jeremiah from Love Island was in the kitchen. I sent it back and they did remake it. The veggie omelette was good because how do you mess that up? The best part was the mimosa. The service was great but I will not be back.

    Cali Benedict
    A V.

Ordered the Cali Benedict and added a side muffin and sauce to go but didn't get it. And there was definitely not enough sauce on the Benedict. The avocado was turning dark. It was good but would have been better with more sauce and fresher avocado. Also got a pancake but it was a little too dry.

We really liked our meals here, they just weren't out of this world. I got the chicken chilaquiles. I really liked it when I first started eating it, but it got soggy wayyy too fast. It also made it so there was no way I was going to be able to reheat it. The flavor was really good and maybe if you were sharing it with your table it would be good, but I would not get it again. My boyfriend got the corned beef hash. It was pretty good, but not the best ever. He would get it again though. Our waitress was GREAT! I think her name was Red. Super attentive. She refilled my tea constantly! She was the best part of the visit. It is a pretty cute, lively environment which is nice!

Came to Arizona on a work trip and saw this gem while walking to our meeting spot and wow! I ordered the Chilaques. It was so amazing! The portion was pretty big and although I was full I took my time eating because it was so good! The service was quick and our waitress was great at recommendations. The freshly pressed juices were great too. My coworker had the burrito which looked amazing as well. Hoping to try this location again.

A lazy morning in Phoenix found me at Morning Squeeze looking for a fill up. First, a damn good cup of Lavazza - hot, smooth, and bitter. Then an order of the Phat Country Boy Benedict: two scratch biscuits with pork sausage, poached eggs and gravy. Flaky, tasty and filling - exactly what I needed to refuel for the day. The side of fruit was also super fresh, sweet and tart. A few more fills of coffee and I was set for the day. Friendly staff and a bright atmosphere, Morning Squeeze is a great way to start the day.

A solid choice. We were downtown for a local event on a Saturday around 11am and it was busy but we had to wait only 20 minutes which seemed reasonable. Patio seating allowing dogs which is really nice. Pretty extensive menu. Even the food others had around us looked great. I got the Hangover Bowl and it was tasty. Not amazing, but hit the spot I was looking for. Super cute ambience and friendly staff.

I guess this is biscuits and gravy?

Incompetent? Maybe. We ordered takeout. Big mistake. I guess because they weee busy they were unable to comprehend the orders. Anyways we ordered biscuits and gravy and received wheat toast and gravy. Who would eat that? Them when we called the host said it was because they ran out of biscuits, then we asked how they could fix it they hung up. We called back several times and were repeatedly hung up on. The customer service was terrible here, the restaurant took no accountability and well the food was trash because it wasn't what I ordered. Do not order from here. Learn from me.

Our group of 8 ended up here when another Tempe restaurant had a kitchen emergency and cancelled our reso an hour before dinner. Alter Ego was able to accommodate us, and we were glad they did. If you enter from the street side you'd never know you're in a hotel restaurant. It's got an upscale, classy vibe not usually seen in hotel dining. The waiter and bartender were attentive and knowledgeable. The menu wasn't huge but it was a great variety of options. Table had some salads, flatbreads, burgers and a round of butter cake desserts. Each was really, really good. Way more sophisticated plates than expected. Also had a bunch of craft cocktails, unique and well made. Sometimes the best experiences are unplanned. I got the bang bang shrimp and it was good (6/10). The problem that I have is the pistachio gin fizz was an absolute no! I am a HUGE fan of pistachio and gin so immediately I had to get his drink but it was beyond mediocre. Are we drinking only syrup??? My last complaint is the coconut tres leches dessert.... Do we actually know how to make tres leches or we just naming desserts however we want? Just curious. It came out super hot, steaming more like a molten cake. As a Hispanic woman, I was expecting a creamy moist cake to celebrate my graduation but this was not it as well. Last but not least if the bald manager with the orange shirt wants to eat in the back of the kitchen, not the problem I get it (I work at restaurants) HOWEVER shoving your two index fingers into your mouth to get your debris out was my last straw. Like I said I like this restaurant and never had problems but today felt like a fever dream there.

It made the experience feel way more fun and customizable, and you could actually taste how fresh the juices were. Every mimosa we tried was refreshing and super easy to drink. We were welcomed with a friendly smile. We explained that the other half of our party was on their way & the host promptly prepared our table... mostly. There were small plates set for each of us, but only one roll-up/napkin (for 4) & no drink menu. Minor details, but it kinda set the tone for the service experience. Now listen... the spot itself is cute. Once we actually got service, our waiter was cool. It just took forevvverrrrr & I ended up having to request cutlery after food was served. To be fair, it was busy, but there also seemed to be plenty of wait staff, so I'm not exactly sure where the disconnect was. Food-wise: the spinach artichoke dip was definitely the table favorite. My caprese panini was ok, it was sadly lacking pesto which feels a little criminal for a caprese situation. Our friends loved the fancy French toast & I was absolutely there for the prickly pear mimosas The entire brunch honestly felt like it was one dropped plate away from becoming a sitcom episode. One poor new waiter dropped a plate on the floor, then later knocked glasses off the rack above the bar & shattered a couple right next to guests sitting there. I genuinely felt bad for him because you could tell he was having a rough shift. That said, I really appreciated that they acknowledged the long wait & gave us a discount without us having to ask. That kind of accountability goes a long way. Overall, I'd still go back & give them another try because the atmosphere was fun, the vibe was there, and I can see the potential. Every restaurant has an off day -- especially during a busy brunch rush.

They serve salads, bowls, sandwiches, all-day breakfast, protein shakes, fresh juices, and other healthy, fast-casual eats for dine-in or take-away. My kind of place! This is one of those spots that I'd frequent if I lived nearby (ChopShop, want to open in Northern California?!). I stumbled upon this spot after a little self-guided tour of ASU campus on a sleepy Sunday morning (everyone must have been asleep after the big football game the day before). I'd forgotten about this spot and it was such a happy surprise to find it again and to see that they survived the pandemic and are still thriving. First visit I ordered: -Cheat Day Wrap: scrambled egg, bacon, white cheddar, smashed avocado, tomato, brown rice (I ordered without rice), and turkey or ham (I skipped these too) *DELISH on a whole wheat wrap!!! Full of flavor and super easy to eat. This hearty breakfast sando fueled my active morning of hiking "A" Mountain (Hayden Butte Preserve) the running around the the IronMan course to spectate (30,000+ steps as a spectator!). We couldn't leave town without another trip. I took my guy and we enjoyed a salad, another breakfast wrap, and: -Chicken + Prosciutto Sandwich: grilled chicken, prosciutto, fontina, arugula, fig mostarda, dijon (no dijon for us), on a house bun. If you're in the area, looking for a healthy-ish breakfast, lunch, or snack, definitely check out Original ChopShop. Note: it gets busy at peak meal hours with students and faculty. But my first experience was not that great. They had plenty of places to sit, whether you like to sit indoors or outdoors. I decided to try the "Glow Up Shake," which is their protein shake. The shake was okay; it didn't blow me away. Considering that it has banana, pineapple, dates, etc., I was hoping it would melt in my mouth with a galaxy of flavor--darn, no such luck. But like I said, it was an okay drink that I think others might like. Now, as for the $3 pre-wrapped Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie? The first cookie they brought me was hard as a diamond. I asked if they could heat it up to soften it a bit like they do at Starbucks, but he said they can't? Wow, I didn't realize that heating a Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie was so complex that it can't be done by some places. Anyway, the minor good news was he brought me a different cookie that was soft enough to bend and break off a piece and chew without worrying about breaking a tooth. But the big question is, will I be back? Of course I will; the place has a plethora of healthy food which I like. And I'm sure when I order something other than a diamond-hard Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie, my experience will be somewhat better. This place does have a fantastic Wi-Fi. That's a plus.
