I noticed Morning Shift while going to study at the nearby Starbucks and decided to try it the next day with my friend! Upon entering, I really enjoyed seeing that they had a lot of vegetarian options on the menu! Service at the front counter was very nice. You can tell the workers are still getting used to things because the place is brand new, but they were doing their best to be accommodating. I ordered the Beyond Sausage Breakfast Patty melt ($15) , with non vegan eggs, which came with a side salad of Lightly Dressed Greens. I also asked for a glass of Orange Juice ($5). The patty melt was very satisfying and dense. It was a little bland when eaten alone, however it was tasty when dipped in the side of salsa that also comes with it. The salad was ehhh to me, very boring. The star was the orange juice. It tasted very fresh and you can see that they have an orange juice machine that juices the oranges, meaning there is no processing or added sugar. Overall, for a business just starting out it was not bad and I would go there again sometime to try the other vegetarian options they offer, like vegan wings. Hopefully in time they can also amp up the decor, the overall look is quite basic. read more

I was really excited after reading the reviews so we went there on a Wednesday morning. There was one couple eating and they left making us the only ones there, I thought that to be strange for 7:30 am. The room was great with every kind of condiment you would need. They did not have lattes or almond milk so I was disappointed and had regular coffee which was nothing special. We ordered pancakes which came with cinnamon butter. The pancakes were ok but I already had the cinnamon butter melted on it so it was overly sweet like eating Texas roadhouse rolls. I also ordered diced potatoes but they had no flavor and were mushy. The price for the 2 of us with the same meal was $33 dollars. Very disappointed waste, should have just went to Crackle Barrel with already know great breakfast but you don't know until you try. read more

UPDATE/EDIT : Owner was lightening fast in his response. The buffet is new to them and they've got some kinks to work out. I'd give them another chance in a few months once they've gotten a handle on things. ********************************************** First timers here. We are foodies and love trying new places. We came in on a Sunday morning around 10:45 AM. Cute bistro type place, greeted upon entry with a sweet smile and sat immediately. The hostess explained that they were only offering the buffet today and the cost was $20 pp which includes a drink. She gave a bit more info, to include highlights of a few items they were offering. She also mentioned we could order off the menu, but would need to take it to go. For the price and offerings we chose to sit and enjoy the buffet (who doesn't love endless shrimp and grits??!!) We were initially sat at a 4 top table (there was plenty of open space within the dining area) but quickly moved to a tiny 2 top. As of the writing of this review, our initial table and the one right beside it have yet to be used. In any event, we were sat at the 2 top and its then that the waiter, who was EXTREMELY KIND AND ATTENTIVE, informed us that the price was actually $28 per person. At this point, we are sitting down at the second table, both are hungry, and figure we would just take a chance. I'll start with a few good points, there are several great options on the buffet, from savory shrimp and grits to a wholesome overnight oats dish that was better than I make at home! The food was flavorful, presented well, and we enjoyed the items we had. Beyond that, we were both confused and disappointed. Most anything we had was room temp or cold. The buffet has covered food bins, there's no room to place them while you serve yourself. We witnessed person after person seem confused with where to place the lid. There wasn't a good flow and again, when you don't know what to do with the lid, the food gets cold for the people behind you. The floor was wet in areas and SUPER slick in others. About 1/2 way through our meal, the restaurant was clearing out. Quite a few open tables. And mind you, it has never completely filled up. Again... The original table we were sat at and then one beside it never got used the entire time we were here. So knowing this, they sat someone directly behind me at another two top. We had to move our table back closer to the wall to prevent our chairs from scraping. Clearly frustrated, that couple decided to get up and leave the restaurant. Minutes later they sat a group of 4 at a 12 top table. Our table was so small, we couldn't get another plate until our current plate was cleared. We ended up having to stack our plate on an empty table beside us. All around odd flow. Hopefully, management will see this and work to correct as this place has great potential. Just seems to need a solid manager directing the front of house. read more

First off the staff was awesome and helpful. Now to the food. We ordered to go. Got the Ron Swanson Owl breakfast with pork carnitas Fruity pebble's French toast Challah French toast The Ron Swanson was A LOT of food. And it was all cooked really well. The owl breakfast was a bit of a let down. The pork carnitas was just pulled pork. It lacked the crispness that normal carnitas have. And the sauce on top tasted like bbq sauce. The potatoes were okay. I was excepting a bit more of a crust in the potatoes. Everything was seasoned well. The both French toast were run of the mill. Nothing that stands out. The Challah I was expecting to be bigger. But it looked like normal bread. So not sure if the order was messed up or if the bread was just small. I plan on going back and to sit down and eat. We just tried this restaurant for the first time today and gave it a mediocre rating. I got what I ordered. My husband ordered Eggs over HARD....they came out runny As if over EASY. So, back they went. This time they came out perfect but his order was for BACON and they served Chicken sausage patties.....He was not about to wait on his food again. The server offered to take his plate away again ( eggs and all) instead of saying I'll bring an order of bacon. Therefore, Not an overall good experience. We won't be going back anytime soon. Very disappointing... Very overpriced - not even considering that the food and coffee were devoid of typical flavor and temperature - "edible" is the most positive adjective for the food's flavor is descriptive. And the coffee... Bland and weak - like three-day-old generic instant coffee. The only reason I didn't rate one star was that the staff was friendly--at the counter and when dropping off the food. Otherwise, there was absolutely no redeeming quality in the food and drink quality, flavor, and temperature--nor speed or quality of service. The two takeaways from this restaurant are: 1) Never, EVER tip for service and food not already provided - especially when standing (not seating and provided server's service). This place has solidified this as a hard-and-fast rule from now on. 2) Stick to the "dip the toe" tactic - order an appetizer or two - don't go hog-wild with ordering entrees and drinks until they show some culinary acumen and food and drink quality. This place's coffee - especially the disgusting pulled pork - would've ensured that return visits wouldn't happen in this decade. And all this for the low, low price of a few cents short of $60--for two people? True, it was only $51-something, but then there was the dreaded pay-and-tip-before-we-make-your-food screen--while standing at the register, not sitting, and being served by a server. read more

Once again this I left this restaurant very impressed. Even though they were extremely busy, we were greeted by multiple employees within the first minute of arriving. The service is what really messed up the entire dining experience for me. You order your food from a counter, get a number and a server brings the food to your table. I went with my mom and son. My mom and I were served our food and my son was not. The problem occurs when you don't have a dedicated server to certain tables and they don't communicate. We watched one server place his meal on another table. Meanwhile, We told three different servers that we were waiting on my son's meal. They eventually realized their mistake when they brought the other meals to the other tables and realized there was an extra plate on their table. While we still wait, the servers pack up the extra meal to go for the other table. We are still waiting for my son's meal. Another 5 minutes pass before they were able to serve him and by this time, my mom and I were finish eating, and I've shared most of my meal with my son. We did get an apology but from our standpoint, the table that ordered after us gained a free to-go meal and all of there meals were served. We on the other hand had to continuously ask and wait for a meal we already paid for. We just felt wronged by the whole situation. read more

I like this place! Morning Shift is conveniently located in a pretty busy area which is how I came across it. I loved their iced coffee selection.
