I usually go to the sister restaurant, masa sushi, and finally decided to stop by at Mori to give it a try. We had the AYCE menu, with a variety of hot foods and fish. We were here for a late lunch, so the place was fairly empty and service was quick. The sushi and sashimi was fresh and what you would expect for AYCE quality. The hot food was mediocre, the shumai had some funny filling in it and the shrimp tempura wasn't even hot when it came out. Masa definitely wins in this section. Service was quick, and we did get everything we ordered. Not bad for an AYCE, but I do prefer the sister restaurant Masa

Work team lunch, I ordered the Tonkatsu, others ordered the all you cat eat lunch (sorry no pix of that). My Tonkatsu was crispy but a bit bland although the sauce made up for it. I also got a side salad prior which was tasty. The other coworkers did nearly eat all of what they ordered, mostly sushi / sashimi / rolls. Overall, we did come away satisfied but have to knock a star with my pork dish being bland, coworker thought hers was a little chewy.

There is a large variety of sushi and appetizers (similar variety to other ayce sushi). There is also no limit on sashimi, but I didn't like the quality of the fish. Every time I got another order of sashimi, the fish kept getting colder (like they just pulled it out of the freezer and didn't have time to defrost it). I understand that a lot of sushi places freeze or refrigerate their fish but having cold and/or icy fish is not really appetizing. Service was quite slow - there weren't too many people when I went but the waiter kept missing my table and it took me a long time to flag down the staff. Regardless, I was definitely full after my meal because I ate lots of sushi and other appetizers!

Love this Sushi establishment, they offer so many varieties as well as you can eat as well. The staff is very friendly and very nice quiet atmosphere. I always look forward to going and meeting my friends there for dinner. My favorite are the Ninja, Godzilla, spicy tin & salmon rolls. All item are made on demand and nothing but a fresh & great experience.

Mori Sushi leaves a lot to be desired and could use vast improvements around their service. FOOD You can opt for the à la carte menu or their all you can eat. It seems like most people who come here or go for the all-you-can-eat option. We did prefer the a la carte menu and ordered a few lunch specials, including their lunch boxes and rolls. Overall, the food quality is just OK. The food is reasonably priced for what you are getting. Btw, this isn't the most environmentally friendly place to eat at. You eat out of takeout containers which reminds me like I was eating at a street fair. Their dishes, cups, utensils are all disposable. SERVICE Well I get that some restaurants are short staffed right now, the whole experience was a bit odd. When we walked in, we were seated right away, but we were given ONE set of menus for a party of four. There was no QR code to scan so that took some time to look at. Also, when they served our main entrees, only half of our party got their dishes. By the time half of our party finished eating, the other entrées had not even come out (and probably 30 min passed by). The service was not great. Our two waiters that were attending to over dozens of tables looked overwhelmed and we had to flag them down several times to see where the rest of our entrees were. Overall, I'd say skip this one until they fix their staffing shortages and improve the ambience with less disposable goods.

3 roll lunch special: Shrimp tempura roll Salmon avocado roll Spicy tuna roll Miso soup
    Daniel T.

TLDR: good priced lunch special with hit-or-miss rolls. I'll continue getting the special if the price stays the same. I ordered the three roll lunch special with miso soup and got the shrimp tempura, salmon avocado, and spicy tuna rolls. The salmon avocado and spicy tuna rolls had pretty good quality fish and were enjoyable. The shrimp tempura roll was over-sauced and fell apart. I get the 3 roll special pretty frequently and the fish has always been good quality, and each roll has a good balance of ingredients and rice. The quality of the other ingredients is not so consistent. Rice is sometimes over cooked, rolls occasionally have too much sauce, avocados are overripe now and then, etc. I keep going back because things are great for the price more often than not, and even when they're not great they're still enjoyable.

Food - 5 stars, restaurant - 0 stars.. it's not a restaurant! When you walk in, someone brings you to a table with no menus only the QR scanner. Which is fine, many restaurants have switched to those types of menus during COVID. However what I didn't realize was that it meant there would be absolutely ZERO wait service. My fiancé thought we were going out to a nice dinner to celebrate a promotion last night, but we basically had take out! You order through your phone, pay ahead, and then someone brings you waters and the food all on paper plates/paper cups. The only thing not on paper was our sushi, because we ordered 6 rolls to share. What if I wanted a side of Mayo? A coke? Extra chopsticks? No one checks on you, no one comes over to ask if you need anything. If you wanted to get dessert or an extra appetizer, you need to begin a new online order and go through the whole process of paying again. It was very uncomfortable, definitely didn't feel like a restaurant, and I don't think we will be back. We will consider doing take out , because the quality of the fish was great and it was reasonably priced.

Some of the sushi ordered: salmon sashimi, red clams, eel cucumber rolls, spider rolls, rainbow rolls, yellowtail rolls, etc, and edamame.

FOOD POISONING FROM MORI SUSHI I'm only giving 1 star because it won't allow me to post without selecting star rating. So here's the one star that I was FORCED to give. We're having dinner at Mori Sushi, all you can eat on Tuesday night 5.28.2024 for my son's 10th bday. Cooked food seemed to be pretty tasty and decent. When the sashimi and sushi came, presentation was ok, but much of the raw fish tasted and looked a bit dull and not fresh. About 45 minutes into eating, my husband started to have stomachache and needed to use the restroom a couple of times. He stopped eating and needed to get some fresh air after the runs. We ordered a good variety of salmon, tuna, white fish, yellowtail, rainbow rolls, dragon rolls, spicy tuna, spider rolls, California rolls, etc. I thought the taste of the sushi and sashimi were mediocre with an aftertaste. About 30 minutes after my husband left, my kids and I started to feel the stomachaches. I thought it can't be such a coincidence, must be the raw fish tasted bad and most likely spoiled. I called the waiter to let him know that I believe the fish served were not fresh and mostly bad, causing all of us to have stomachache. Waiter came back with our bill and charged us price as usual. I told another waiter that maybe the manager/owner that the fish tasted not fresh and maybe bad, he just said "oh ok". Not that I was looking for any discount, perhaps the waiters and/or manager there were poor English speakers or just don't know how to talk to unhappy customers, I felt uncomfortable with their attitude. In the evening, my kids were vomiting A LOT, more than a pint of vomit each and had been having the runs every 30 minutes to an hour, more than 10 times day 1. They had fevers and chills and feeling very weak with the excessive diarrhea and vomiting. I took some vomit specimens from my son and daughter immediately freeze them. I also called the restaurant to advise that my family had dinner there and now caught food poisoning thanks to them serving spoiled food. The person said oh ok, you sure? I told him to please double check their fish and other inventory to make sure not to serve bad fish to customers. I'm contemplating whether or not I should take further actions on this terrible incident, causing my family and I days of food poisoning pains and suffering. I'm considering taking the specimens to run the lab. At the end, all we want is to spread awareness and hope the restaurant owner and staff be more responsible in the food they serve.

Good spot for family meals, semi casual dates, and for your basic sushi needs. Lunch special is a pretty good deal. Nothing crazy about this place but they're always friendly and I always come when I crave sushi. $14 for any 3 rolls including all of the regular rolls. Comes with soup or salad too. I love the salad dressing they use. They have other options too for a lunch special. Sushi is solid for what you're paying. The regular rolls are pretty no frills and exactly what you expect. Going here for lunch always hits the spot when I'm craving sushi!

We stopped in for a late lunch today (230 PM). Food was very good and fresh. Service was good too but I didn't realize we had to order everything before 3PM or we would be charged the dinner price. We definitely over ordered and overate. I will definitely be coming back but definitely earlier.

Takeout All Inclusive Combo - 4 rolls on top, bottom left = sushi plate, bottom right = sashimi plate
    Seth W.

I was hesitant to eat here after reading many of the reviews (very good/bad)....but we gave it a try and I'm glad we did. During the pandemic we ordered an All Inclusive Combo to go...you get a TON of food for $50. Here's what we got and my thoughts: Apps: (you get 3) Shrimp Shumi (1 order) was good Spicy Tuna Crunch Bowl (2 orders) - we both thought it was tasty, the tuna was cut like a gummy worm ...long ribbons, but the spicy was good and the crunch was fresh. Rolls: (you get 4) Rainbow - traditional roll Pink Lady - kani, avocado & spicy tuna, top with crunch Mexican Roll - jalapeno, white fish, spicy sauce, outside with spicy salmon Lemon Salmon - spicy yellowtail, tempura flakes with salmon, lemon&jalapeno tobiko on the top - the thin shaved lemon slice was a bit odd, but I enjoyed the roll ---many of the rolls were filled "california roll style" ...while everything tasted good, I can say that they weren't made very well, uneven rolls, falling apart, but again, taste was fine (presentation needed some work) 2 Mains: we got a Sushi Plate and a Sashimi plate no egg, no boiled shrimp, all real sushi (tuna, yellow tail, salmon, white salmon, fatty tuna) - see photo Overall the fish was tasty, the rice was well prepared and again, for $50 you get a ton of food, more than these two adults could finish.

I really really don't like to make a negative review but this was a horrible experience. I made an order for two items for pick up. Was told it would be 20 minutes. Waited an hour. Came home and found out that the curry chicken dish was missing. Annoying but ok. I call them and the person who answered denied messing up the order and asks me to recheck the bag. He was rude and accusatory. I'm not going to argue over a missing entree but I am very disappointed in the service. Also here is the salad. Hm

I walked into establishment with not one customer in there dining. Hostess tried handing me a takeout order with someone rises name on it. When I told her who it was for, the lady in the back of the house torn a receipt off the printer and all 5 employees standing around scrambled into the kitchen. They told me a few minutes. Mind you, we've already waited 30 minutes at this point. I waited about 5 minutes and asked if they just received my order that we placed at 8:12, she said yes, we just got it. I said we are going to cancel because we don't want to wait longer for an order that was sent at 8:12. Anyway, food came out and what a disappointment when we got home. Let's start with the pork less pork egg rolls. Followed by fried pork dumpling that literally tasted like a breakfast sausage rolled up in a sad wonton noodle. It was dense and sad. The cream cheese wontons were the highlight, which wasn't saying much. The main course was red curry chicken, it was spiced as I requested and tasted good. The pepper steak with onions wasn't spiced at all, and we ordered it a 4 out of 5 for spiciness. The iced Thai coffee was good. Will not return. You only get a first impression 1x, not twice.

They are served with a dunking broth and melted butter. Best with a dunk in the broth. I had a generous basket of fish and chips. Two ample sized thin fish fillets over thick cut fries. Good stuff. The lobster roll might be a pass, more of a chopped up lobster salad than the traditional chunky style. Not a huge surprise considering the lower price. The bun was also a bit overstuffed. Still tasty. Enjoyed their Tiger's Tail IPA brewed locally by Opportunity. Great beer list. Service was excellent and friendly. Prices fair. I've essentially given up writing reviews about supermarkets, which, if memory serves me correctly,…read moreI was kind of obsessive about during the Covid era (which is a bit of a misnomer, as Covid is still around-- I had it a few weeks ago). I reviewed which supermarkets had more of the items I wanted, which ones practiced Covid "safety" initiatives (like making aisles go in 1 direction), etc. I also remember being obsessed with the customer service skills of clerks-- which ones acknowledged me with at least a smile, had a few pleasant words, or said nothing at all, or looked at me like they were trying, with every fiber of their being, to keep from jumping over the cash register to assault me. Times have changed. I bring my own bags now, bag my own groceries. I don't lose sleep these days over whether the clerk is friendly or borderline hostile or completely indifferent. I tend to go to the same few supermarkets and marvel only at how the prices of everything continue to climb (so much for the promises of an orange vampire but let me stop before I meander my way over into a political harangue combining elements of rage, astonishment, fear and despair). I've been coming to Princeton periodically for decades (primarily for the Princeton Record Exchange these days) and I have been in this shopping center a few times. Once, decades ago, to visit a book store (the name escapes me now, but it wasn't Borders, which I don't think existed yet, or Barnes & Noble; whatever the name of it was, it's long gone). Once to see a movie with a friend ("Little Odessa" with Tim Roth). The movie theater is still here, which is gratifying. And 1 time to shop at the Shop Rite after visiting Princeton. That was years ago, and I don't remember what prompted the visit. I don't remember it made all that much of an impression on me. A bag or 2 of groceries and then home. This time, I was coming back from Princeton, and I still had food shopping to do. Maybe it's just advancing old age, and a growing sense of exhaustion when faced with the simplest tasks, but the thought of driving all the way back to Basking Ridge and then heading out to the local Shop Rite, or the Stop & Shop, filled me with an enervating dread (I was a few days away from being diagnosed with Covid, which perhaps explains it). I pulled into the parking lot here, figuring it would probably be best to just get it out of the way. Parking spaces were fairly plentiful. I grabbed a cart, my 2 empty bags (I carry a few in my car) and headed inside. This Shop Rite is pretty big. Thankfully, it wasn't too crowded. I found pretty much everything I needed, and then some. I usually buy 2 pre-packaged salads for lunch (I find salads very, very boring, but I am making some efforts to eat healthier). The pre-packaged salads here seem to be a different brand than I normally buy, have a better grade of lettuce, and contain additional items like pomegranate seeds, berries, etc. I also buy pre-packaged slices of lean chicken. The pre-packaging for the chicken here seemed to be of a better quality than I normally get, as did the chicken itself. I bought a jar of Russian borscht soup, which I've always really liked (I acquired a taste for it when dining in NYC Slavic restaurants years and years ago), and haven't had in a while. And, to top it off, they carried a 6-pack of Stewart's grape soda in bottles. I'm not a big soda drinker (I try to keep it down to 1 small bottle a week) but I really, really like grape soda. The Shop Rite near me had it once or twice several years ago, and never since. Do the people in Basking Ridge not like Stewart's grape soda? I guess not. Checking everything out was relatively simple. The clerk wasn't overly friendly but didn't radiate bored malevolence either. Also, I found the prices of my groceries to be surprisingly reasonable. Willi I be rushing back here to do my grocery shopping in future? No. But I've come to look on grocery shopping overall as an ordeal just short of getting a tooth extracted, a necessary but depressing and increasingly expensive activity. Shopping at this location in Skillman was pretty quick and painless. Shop Rite of Montgomery? Truth is-- You had me at "grape soda!"
