I come here all the time, I do not know why I have not reviewed this joint yet. So whenever my friends are like "lets go to Mori House for sushi", I intentionally go home to put on my eating pants (all ladies own a pair). It allows for the Thanksgiving kind of stomach expansion. I love to start with a hearty helping of the apps, some sushi, couple rolls, then end with a warm udon or ramen. In addition, many options for those who do not like to partake in raw. I would revisit this place numerous times so you can try everything on the menu!! Service: Warm welcoming by the creators of the sushi and waitstaff upon entrance. The entire staff works as a unit to provide fast and friendly service. Drinks were always full, dishes cleared away promptly, food got to the table hot and fresh. No lukewarm food that was sitting under the heating lamp. This place does get packed, so I would avoid some of the heavier dinner hrs. Ambiance: A classic neighborhood sushi place. Casual. Can also jazz it up a bit with jeans and a cute top for a night out. A healthy mixture of families, BFFs, and couples. Dranks: They offer a great variety of beer (japanese kind), can also find some domestic beer options. They have a minimal wine list, but the sake is where it's at. They have an array of different sakes, from dry to very dry, some that are a little more fruity or floral, chilled or warm. My ultimate favorite is Nigori, which is a unfiltered sake that you drink chilled. Highly recommend giving it a try with your next sushi extravaganza. My bf and I decided to dine at Mori House last minute, right around prime dinner time, and we are so glad we did! It was his first time, but I have dined here 2-3 times a few years ago. This would be my first time coming back since the pandemic, but wow! The place was packed and running on a Wednesday evening. We did not make reservations, but were seated immediately. The staff were attentive and super friendly! The ambiance is cozy, so it's a nice casual sushi date spot within the area. As for food, we ordered takoyaki, sex in the city roll, red carpet roll, and hurricane roll. All felt pretty fresh and were filling. Prices were reasonable and ranged from least expensive to more intricate expensive rolls. We were satisfied after ordering an appetizer and 3 rolls for two people, and we will definitely be back again! read more

I'll start by saying that the only reason I didn't give Mori House 5 stars is not because of the food! The quality of their food and their selection is the best! The rating has everything to do with the service. Some nights the service is on point and other nights...well let's just say swimming through molasses would be faster! It's hit and miss with them. On the bright side, all the servers are very kind and polite. The sushi rolls are beyond delicious. The Ichiban, Yummy, and Ocean's 13 rolls are my top three choices. The Turo Tuna sashimi and the Salmon sashimi are the freshest I've had in GA, hands down! The sea bass misoyaki is my favorite item on the menu. If you like sea bass, you have to try it. Mori House is our go to sushi spot and at times the only place to eat and enjoy the experience. Their sushi is always fresh, their service is beyond perfection and kind in every way. Fancy and relaxed all at once. Cooked and raw entrees are always perfect. Our favorites are the Ichiban roll, kiss of fire, and the spicy tuna on crunchy rice. The Ahi Poke Salad is a must!! And the Himachikama (sp) is perfection every time. I can't forget the shrimp fried rice - it's truly a masterpiece. When the head chef is out of the country - they don't serve it!!! Meticulous with every move the flavor and presentation of the sushi is noticeably different from the others in the area and keeps me coming back. I specifically enjoy the way they prepare hand rolls and think the assortments of the ingredients inside is perfectly placed. Such an adorable little place. Went here yesterday, and I think I'd be back. When we arrived at 7 PM, the place had a good amount of dine in folks. It only got busier as we left an hour ish later. A pretty popping place with families and friends dining here. They offer an extensive sushi menu with other items such as rice bowls, cold and hot noodles, even ramen. I ordered the spicy salmon roll with a side of seaweed salad. These two items definitely put me at a content level. The roll was pretty okay. The seaweed salad pretty fresh. My friend chose the chicken ramen. It was strange how they brought out the (fried) chicken pieces on a separate place. He said it was pretty good. Service was attentive and friendly. The restrooms are on either side of the two corridors btw. Parking was okay. Since Mori is at the left end of a strip of stores, parking was a tad more readily available. I've always heard great things about this place and finally got around to trying it out yesterday. I went around 6 last night and they were pretty busy and only got busier as the night progressed. I met up with a girlfriend and she was already seated by the time I got there. The waitress came out and took my drink order then gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. We decided to start off with the ahi poke tuna, a spicy scallop roll, uni and sweet shrimp. The spicy scallop, uni and sweet shrimp came out first and took about 15 minutes to do so. About 15 minutes later, the ahi poke tuna came out. We were still hungry so decided to get an Atomic roll. 15 minutes later, that roll came out. After we were done eating, I decided to order a spicy tuna roll to go for my husband. That roll took 30 minutes to come out! I understand that they were busy but the service here is just way too slow! I've been to plenty of busy sushi restaurants and have never had to wait so long for my sushi to come out. I definitely have never waited 30 minutes for one roll!! The sushi itself was good. My favorites of the evening were the uni and the sweet shrimp. The uni tasted very fresh and kinda just melted in my mouth. The sweet shrimp was also very fresh tasting. The ahi poke was also another one of my faves. The sauce that it came in complemented it very well. The spicy scallop roll was good but wasn't spicy at all. The atomic roll was ok, I probably wouldn't order it again. Our waitress was friendly and she made sure to keep our waters filled. Even though the service here is super slow, I'd give this place another try because the sushi was good. read more

Came for lunch. Sushi rolls are def on the expensive side. (Spicy tuna roll was $8) So I opted for lunch specials. Bf got the lunch special $13 and you get to choose two entrees. He got the 5 piece sushi and 5 piece sashimi. Comes with soup and salad. I got the the bento box for $12 and chose the teriyaki salmon. I am not one to order hot meals at a sushi place but it seemed to be the most economical option. I was originally going to leave a bad review bc service was very slow. My bf sushi came out very fast. He was done by the time my food came out. (So don't come here if u are in a rush) However, my bento box was so nicely presented... I could see why it took so long. I am a fan of surprises and due to zero description of what's included in the bento box, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. It comes with a salad with typical ginger dressing, 3 pieces of lightly fried veggie (sweet potato, egg plant, zucchini), a side of rice, the salmon, some potato salad with crunchy seaweed thing on top and a fried lotus root, one piece of egg omelet, and 4 pieces of California roll. Don't expect too strong of a flavor. I feel like Japanese food is all about moderation (like small bites and less salt). Everything is a little bland but I liked it. I felt great afterwards bc food was refreshing and not heavy. Salmon was good but not great, just typical teriyaki salmon. I loved the potato salad it was very unique (mayo and egg based). Sushi was good. Nothing spectacular. It's fresh but not the most generous pieces of sushi I've seen. But again, the presentation was flawless. Even tho service was slow, waitress was pleasant. I had the pleasure of dining at Mori House for dinner tonight, and I was so impressed. The service was so good. Plenty of space to park. A cute, aesthetic seating area right outside. Perfect for Instagram pictures! Great health score, and very clean restaurant. Everyone made sure that our cups were always full and that our finished plates were cleared. They bring out hot towels to wash your hands with at first. People would ocassionally check in to make sure that we were enjoying our meal and that everything was good. A member in our group had allergies, so they made sure they were attentive to that. The waitress also gave us a detailed explanation to all of our questions, and an approximate wait time for the preparation of each meal. The timing the dishes took to come out was perfect. The experience starts as soon as you approach it. The restaurant greets you with a nice little patio in front where you can wait for your table and even take pictures. The atmosphere is great. The dim lights and the Japanese aesthetics made me feel as if I was in a Japanese home. The waitress brings warm towels which makes it even more cozy. The sushi bar also only has native chefs which is always a plus. My sushi was tasty, the rice was well cooked and the fish was fresh. The spicy mayo on the side also added a nice kick to it. We went to Mori House for the first time since COVID hit. As always, the food was excellent. We are sending extra love for the Mori House staff for grace in the middle of this pandemic. Not only do they require masks for the staff and patrons, they gave us a MH mask as a gift to celebrate their anniversary. We are always pleased with the food and service and are happy they take everyone's health seriously. Not every patron was wearing a mask in and out which is indicative of the crazy political game this has turned in to. But I am thankful that the staff has everyone's best interest in mind. We have order quite a lot of food, two roll, one sashimi set, a okonomiyaki, a fried oyster, and also two desserts. -Okonomiyaki It is not too special, is taste like all other okonomiyaki, but it's in a good way, the sauce is good. I use to make okonomiyaki at home myself so the one in here is pretty decent. -Fried oysters They have total of five oyster in one dish, it is not something too special but the taste is fine. Their oyster is a little bit dry but not taste bad. -Sashimi Set I wish wish they will give me salmon belly, but they didn't. The fish are really fresh,I'm not a tuna fan, but the tuna taste sweet than any other I had ever tried. -Rolls We had ordered two rolls, in sorry that I don't really remember the name of the rolls because they were recommended by the waitress. They all taste wonderful, really like the tempura inside of the roll and they are not easy to fall apart. Will definitely order again. -Fried ice cream&Crepe cake The fried ice cream is $6 but they are not small, the size of the fried ice cream can be served for 2 people, the pound cake was used for the outer layer of the ice cream. Mori was amazing!!! I truly loved my orders - I am just being conservative here because I didn't get to try their sushi this time. I had okonomiyaki - one of my favorite Japanese dishes which I also don't find it to be as common as I would like it to be in the states. It's like a Japanese grilled pancake. It came with shrimp, scallion, and cabbage. I won't necessary say this is the best one that I've ever had - but it definitely exceeded my expectations. I also ordered the scallop tobanyaki. Okay, for those of you that know me to some extent.... I am totally addicted to scallop. Like fresh and bouncy scallops. Mori's was honestly pretty good. The scallop was fresh and prepared just about right. It was also really juicy! This dish was basically just grilled scallop served on a hot stone plate. Please note that you can only get this if you dine in. Truly enjoyed this! After these two dishes, I was way too stuffed... can't fit into anything else.... We love this place! Before covid, we would come here once a week for our date night. The staff are super friendly and remember our order every time. The sushi chefs always greet you when you walk in and bid farewell when you leave. This is the only establishment we've dined in since covid and trust their sanitation process.
