We recently went to this location. I had an open table gift card (which they are affiliated with) to use, when I gave it to our waitress, she said she'd have to ask her manager. She came back and said her manager had never seen one and could not accept it. I then went on Moretti's website and asked why they would not honor, but never received a response, I will not return to this establishment. If they are not going to honor promotions then they should not subscribe to them. I wrote to Open Table and they immediately credited my points back to my account, kudos to them!!! read more

This was a good place! I ate the chicken limon thingie - it was delicious! I really liked it. My husband liked his dish, too, and their Mojitos were awesome! LOVED IT! The service was great - quick and attentive. It's got a chill and hip ambiance in there, too. Great place, I'd recommend. read more

We had lunch on the patio here today. Our experience wasn't very pleasant at all. The food was decent, however, the staff here were not very friendly or courteous. It was very sunny and when the hostess was seating us we asked for another table that was near a tree to have some more shade. Two seats were in the direct sun. She was very snippy and a said, "All of the umbrellas are the same." She set our menus on the table and left. She couldn't have cared less. We reseated ourselves. Our waiter made no attempt to be friendly or personable in spite of our attempts to engage him. He did look after us, however. After observing other people who work there, we were left with the impression that perhaps management doesn't treat their staff very well. Not a very cheerful bunch. I understand that food service is a tough business, but c'mon. Moretti's does a lot of business. Maybe they just don't care. Won't be going back. read more

Over the years this place has gotten progressively worse. The food is not at all worth the price it's over priced but the quality just isn't there at all, almost $20 for a crappy risotto. But the service it what sucks the most here went a couple days ago for dinner and drinks with friends. We were seated and no one came to our table for 15-20 minutes. I had to go find someone to ask if we could get someone to take our order. It didn't stop there as I had to go up 3 times to ask to order more drinks. The third time was after I had to go to the bathroom and saw our waitress sitting at the bar in the other room socializing with other staff and on her phone. What value does this restaurant offer if this is a typical experience over several visits...none. They should focus less on opening more locations and focus more on making a quality product and experience . read more

We just moved into the area and of course we have become regulars at the HUGE Moretti's outdoor patio. NOTE: I have never dined in yet as it is summer and we are taking advantage of the weather. I did get to go inside and the place is HUGEE. Multiple bars inside as well as one outside and TVs are everywhere! The only knock off for the star was because of the wishy washy service. I notice that every time I get a young waitress they spend most of their time flirting with the young guys that frequent or are overall rude. My first night here, my waitress said she wouldn't recommend any of the pastas ( a huge section of their menus) because she only likes her moms linguini?? What??? That same waitress was at the table next to ours (along with THREE other waitresses) flirting with the guys next to us and blowing us off when we simply asked for waters. Despite her opinion, my friend and I both ordered the angel hair pomodoro and we were happy. It is a simple dish and it is made well. I like that they add the pieces of mozzarella on top and the portion size is plentiful! The next time I came we had another waitress that provided some of the best service I've ever had! She was attentive and could handle the busy night well. We love coming for the 1/2 price pizza Tuesday nights! (Dine-in only) and that usually gets the place filled. We get a basic thin crust which is good for the great price. Appetizers: I do love their fried calamari as an appetizer as well as their coconut onion rings (so huge I can only eat one) They both aren't over fried or soggy which I love). Their hummus platter is okay, comes with a lot of dipping options but nothing special. Their jumbo stuffed mushrooms are also another one of my favorites! They come with 3-4 but they are well stuffed and filling. Their cheesy bread, mozzarella sticks, bruschetta are what you would expect, nothing extraordinary. They do have bread baskets they will bring with butter but you usually have to ask for it. They have a nice selection of beers which I appreciated as well. read more

Responding to the review by Susan K from Sunday. We frequent Moretti's often and for every Bears game. This review is false. We were sitting right by Susan's group. They weee rude and the ones who were impatient. They wanted service over everyone else like they were royalty. They got up about 6-7 times to interrupt servers just so that their table could get service or table cleaned before anyone else. The review by Susan is just entitled, me first which is selfish. The bartender tried to help out and explain the situation. She did not yell and was actually the person being nice and patient (not Susan and her party). That didn't stop Susan and her party from acting like children. Then they wrote multiple Yelp review to complain. This gaslighting is not correct. Morettis always has good service and their staff is great with customers. And due to the challenges restaurants are facing with staffing and with the impacts of covid, people need to to relax and be nice. They need to grow up and realize that the world doesn't revolve around them. The restaurant employees are working hard and face undue stress. Shame on you Susan K. Please do better next time. We saw it all and your party was embarrassing. I'm not sure who Susan K but the woman with blonde hair was causing the problems. The party wasn't embarrassing. It was only that lady. It's a Bears game. It's going to be a little loud. You can't ask for the game not to be on or played on the speakers. And finally why harass a pregnant waitress? This shows the true character of Susan K and her review. read more

The food overall was good. The marinara sauce was not so good. Tasted like pizza sauce. They do not abide by Covid guidelines by Cook County Department of Health. They play fast and loose with capacity. No seating outside but chairs. Always seem to be a lack of servers for outside seating. There is a side room always sparsely seated and you will be told there is a party of 20 coming that never arrives. Shoulder to shoulder at the bar. Waitstaff over whelmed. Poorly managed. If you like to gamble with your wellness, go here. The food will be good. You might catch Covid. read more

This is for the Morton Grove location. Outstanding. The food, the service and the prices. So many restaurants have doubled, even tripled their prices since before covid. I will admit I try and avoid this place like the plague, but its because I went to the high school in the area and it seems you have a hard time not seeing someone from the old days. I like to keep the past in the past folks. However I have friends who didn't go to said high school, and love this place. There for I venture back every now and then with them. The place is fairly large, a good bar in the with several seats, plenty of room in the entire area and a fairly large patio as well. Despite all this room, on a Friday or Saturday night, the place can get pretty full. Your usual Italian food is here, but I pretty much go for the pizza every time. The best ever? Nope, not even close, but good none the less. I'd agree with Alison that the appetizers are good, but I would still say average for a bar. Staff is friendly and quick and they hustle their butts. O my where do I begin? Service at this place is TERRIBLE! I called and placed this order all the way from Vegas and paid $30 for a large pizza to be sent to my mothers work (which is 5 minutes away from this place). I SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS TO B A SURPRIIISSSSEEEEE and asked that they write "my momma didnt raise no fool!" on the box since its April Fools day. Here are all the things that went wrong: 1. went to the WRONG ADDRESS (even tho they verified with me that they had the correct one) 2. when i called back to check on the process, i find out that not only did they not get the pizza to her THEY CALLED HER AND TOLD HER ABOUT IT... TOTALLY RUINING THE SURPRISE!! Of course she had no idea that there was a pizza coming and said she didnt order anything to the guy on the phone. 3. MARK, the kid working there said.... "uhhhh.... ok.... its still warm we can send it out again... ok thanks..." I said "umm... NO please get me over to a manager". He HUNG UP!!!! 4. Michael, the manager, THEN retook my order AND INSTRUCTIONS TO WRITE OUT THE NOTE ON THE BOX, and swore this time it would be done correct.... 5. Lo and Behold... the pizza got there and NOTHING was written on the box which was the whole point of the surprise.... so of course my mom had no idea what was going on and didnt understand that it was a joke so she told the pizza man to go away since this was a mistake.... OMG!! WHAT A DISASTER!!! The delivery guy calls up his manager and he gets on the phone with my mom and had to explain to her that there was SUPPOSED to b a note on the box and that this was SUPPOSED to b a surprise that they COMPLETELY dropped the ball on. Guess the only Fool here on April Fools day was ME for ordering from these people! Would have NEVER spent $30 FOR JUST A PIZZA with this kind of service. GET IT TOGETHER PPL! ITS NOT THAT HARD TO DELIVER PIZZA TO THE CORRECT ADDRESS WITH A SIMPLE MESSAGE WRITTEN ON THE BOX! Wow I never thought ordering pizza could get me this flustered. What a joke. read more

So where do I begin! I've been coming to Edison park Moretti's for 25 years. I must say the place looks nice great job on the rehab. So me and my date wanted to sit outside . I left my name went over to a make shift bar with no bartenders . The waiting staff stops by to see if you need a drink. We sat there for 20 minutes and watched the staff wait on other people that came after us. Walk by us stared at us but never once ask us for anything! We valet my new convertible with the top down. Caught the outdoor patio's eyes. We where we'll dressed so makes me wonder why nobody would wait on us! I even checked my arm Pitts to see if I smelled but my date reassure me I smelled nice. We finally were seated to where our waitresse was very nice checked on us came by us in a timely manner. My feelings Staff has no leadership, to many teenagers that have no clue. Let me begin by saying that my family loves the food here! The service on the other hand needs major improvement. We ordered takeout and the food took over an hour, when we made it home we discovered that some of our food items were missing. We returned to the restaurant ( after calling them) to pick up the missing items which took another half hour, and still had people waiting for their orders from my first visit. When I asked for the manager I was directed to a guy who was sitting at a table eating. By the time I got home my food was cold and I was aggravated and did not want to eat. This is our friday family dinner spot but I guess we will have to find another one.. it's a shame. read more

This place is huge. It has got a large outdoor seating area, but being crusty old farts, we chose to eat inside. (No bugs or blazing sun). The food was pretty good.. Christopher opted for a salad with chicken in it. It was pretty typical. I had the risotto lunch special, which I really enjoyed. The hot bread that came with the meal was delicious. Service was friendly. The bathrooms are in the basement. They do have one handicapped accessible bathroom, but it is like you are going through an employee area and using their restroom. If you like sports bars, this is probably a great place to come. I cannot comment on their drinks because we stuck with soft drinks. I'm guessing by the amount of people there that it is probably a decent bar with many options. I would not want to be here during some major sports event, because I hate loud, intoxicated crowds, but I would stop back here for lunch on a week day if I were in the area. read more

Went here tonight with a group of friends to watch the Cubs game. We chose Moretti's because the place is huge and has lots of big screens, the pizza is good and they had drink specials. An Absolut Bloody Mary was $5 with a beer chaser and 20oz Miller Lites were $3. This was all listed on their website. When we got there the line was out the door. We had a 45 minute wait ahead of us so we went up to the bar to order drinks. The Bloody Mary's were $5 but no beer chaser. Since it was standing room only we didn't complain. We were finally seated and placed our order for food and drinks. When the bill came, none of our beer was $3, and we were charged the wrong prices for our food. When we pointed it out to the waitress she said she would have the manager come over. We explained to him that per his website the specials included $3 20oz Miller Lites but we were charged $5 and our food prices were off. He made me pull it up on my phone to show him and then said we had an outdated menu for food prices at our table. He ended up crediting the bill but made us feel like we were just trying to get money taken off. He took the old bill and said he would be back with the new bill. 30 minutes later we had to track the waitress down to try and get the new bill. We were disappointed in the way it was handled. We come here often for pizza, but probably won't be back. It shouldn't be the customer's job to point out your specials or menu pricing. And when they do point it out, an apology should be in the response. read more

PLACE WILL RIP YOU OFF and will not rectify a mistake on their part. Placed an order today and had one of their coupons that they send out, expiration10/31/23. The imbecile woman who takes orders mixed up free boneless wings then added boned wings which I didn't order. So my odrer was wrong and they extra charged me $20. When I called and told them they over charged me, they said they coupon expired. Huh? It says right on the coupon expiration 10/31/23. She then said they cannot rectify the situation because too bad, the driver left. So we are stuck with the wrong order and overcharged for it no less. This Edison Park location of Moretti's employs incompetents and the management is useless. If you go there, count your change and examine your bill very carefully. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. I know it is difficult finding decent labor, but Moretti's hires the bottom of the barrel. We were regular customers, but this is our last order. Went here with the wife and our kid for dinner on a Sunday night. On the plus side, the place is spacious and there's ample parking. On the downside, it's expensive relative to what it is -- both the mains, which don't come with even a basic salad, and the soft drinks, which are $2.50 -- every piece of wall has a television on it, and the entire staff (the hostess and two waitresses) are really curt and a little nonchalant. The food is also below average -- I expected something much, much better from looking at the menu. What we got -- the chicken parm and crab gnocchi -- was really nothing better than we could've made in the kitchen at home, which is pretty sad because italian cuisine is not something at which I excel. They seemed good with kids at least; we got crayons and a fun paper menu as well as a really awkward wax-paper wrapped piece of pizza dough which we thought the last customer spit out and left on the table until we asked about it and were told it's a toy. read more

Went here for the first time last night (a cold February weeknight) to grab some dinner with a friend who just moved to Edison Park (EP). Parking: It was pretty cold so we drove over and, despite the large amount of street parking in the area, there were no open spots for about two blocks. It appears most of the restaurants in the area, including Moretti's, offer valet parking (surprising at a blue collar bar / restaurant). Speaking of blue collars, it turns out LOTS of police live in EP - they have to live in the city of Chicago and EP is the furthest out location that still counts as part of the city. There were 3 police cruisers in front of Moretti's. The Scene: The other reviewers have accurately described this sports bar / restaurant hybrid. It was about 3/4 full at 7 pm on a Thursday night. We asked to be seated in the non-smoking section but that "section" is about 10 feet from the bar - it wasn't bad, but if you're sensitive to smoke it would bother you. It was easy to have a conversation without raising your voice. Service: The service was great - friendly in a sincere way, prompt with drink and food orders, and attentive - she checked back with us a couple of times to see how everything was going. Food: So-so food that is so! so! unhealthy for you (but who expects a neighborhood Italian restaurant to be healthy?). My friend had the chicken marsala ($12) but the "mushroom and marsala wine sauce" came out more paste-like... kind of a heavy mushroom gravy. I ordered the IB with cheese ($7) and it was acceptable but uninspiring. Just some meat on a bun with an au jus dipping sauce. The spicy fries that came with it were soggy. I think we'll come back here for drinks but I wouldn't go out of my way to have dinner here again. read more

Longtime customer, have not been in awhile and so disappointed with our visit last night felt compelled to share this as a warning. Food quality and choices very good. Service was so lacking, they seemed very understaffed and the few servers they had were ineffective and appeared untrained. It was really rough. Disappointing, food and outdoor seating will Get me back for another chance. If experience is close to this will have to check it off the list and not return. read more

I will start by saying that the food was good, but the rating is for the horrific customer service. We got an email from Moretti's that they were having a Disney trivia night at 8:30. It was the night of a Blackhawks game so we went a little early so that we could find a table and maybe eat before the trivia. We were put in the old Snuggery side and one of the first groups to show up (there was only one other table full). We waited 10 minutes and no server showed up. We went up to the bar which only had ONE bartender and she apologized and took drink orders and said she would bring it back to the table. She never did and we had to go up and get them...not too much a problem. However, it kept getting busier and busier and while a server finally came into the room, they went to every table except our own! We then got back up and ordered appetizers and the pizza . They were dropped off by the kitchen staff who were too busy to really care who got which appetizer or pizza. They stated "figure it out later". The worst was that we then had to bus our own table and put our dirty dishes in the server hutch near our table. There was no comment from any employees and we had to go up to get our drinks again. In fact, I gave up and had only one beer the entire night. My brother forgot one of his bags there so my mom went in early afternoon the next day. Since it was not busy, she asked to see the manager because she wanted to give feedback on the night before. Somebody else came out and said that the manager is not coming out and to talk to him. My mom explained the issue I mentioned above and all he could say was "we were busy, what do you expect?" When my mother mentioned that we were one of the first groups in the bar, he said "well, you people should have made reservations". This is where Moretti's lost me. I have been in customer service my entire career and when somebody is giving feedback, you do not accuse them of doing something wrong. This was customer service at the worst and they should be ashamed of themselves. To top it off, my mother was given coupons for a free pizza if we spent $25 or more. We do not care about the coupons, my mother just wanted to give some feedback because we used to love Moretti's in Edison Park. Not anymore. It is a real shame because my brother was actually considering having his rehearsal dinner for his wedding there. Nope, not anymore. read more

We've been using Moretti's for catering for a long time. This weekend, it was my brother-in-law's 40th birthday party at our house. Of course, we had Moretti's bring it over and set it up for us. The delivery guy came in his Moretti's logo-emblazoned PT Cruiser right on time. He set up the racks, burners and food trays on our table. He made sure we had everything, right down to the direction of the buffet line setup for people to get their food. Moretti's even brings a set of durable plastic serving utensils, which is great, since we've kept a previous set that's lasted us for years. Same with the fuel containers and racks. What to order, you may ask? Well, we love the chopped Caesar salad with dressing on the side in a quart -sized container. We also love their Italian beef and mostaccioli pans. Best item on the menu has to be their meatballs. When we divvied up the leftovers to our guests at the end, we made sure we secured our personal stash of meatballs before we let them take the rest. One thing I'd avoid, unless you like it hot and spicy, the Italian sausage. I think most people will find it too spicy, as we discovered a few years ago. But if you like it hot, you got a fine choice here. Around Edison Park, Norwood and Park Ridge, Moretti's is a great choice for your catered functions. read more

Another dining adventure with the hungry denizens of Rick's Hiking and Fun Club, and another excursion to the wilderness boundaries of the northwest side of Chicago, for what is more appropriately a 3.5 star review. As I was getting dressed last night to go to Moretti's, I was saying things to myself, such as "Why did you ever say yes to this? Where in God's name in Olmsted Avenue? Couldn't we find an Italian restaurant farther away?" and so on. While driving west on Devon Avenue almost to Iowa, and finally up Northwest Highway trying to find Olmstead Avenue, I wondered why Rick couldn't have chosen one of the zillons of Italian restaurants on Northwest Highway, and where the heck was Olmstead? But, unwilling to admit that I drove almost to Park Ridge and did not get dinner, I persevered. Moretti's is a big place. They have a huge area for outside dining, which is probably very nice on occasions other than Wednesday night, when the temperature hovered around 45 degrees. I found our party already seated towards the back of the main room. This did not make me happy. The main room is, essentially, a huge sports bar area. The walls are lined with gigantic TV screens, streaming all sorts of sports coverage that hold absolutely no interest to me. It was loud, unpleasant, and had an odor of Budweiser. But two of the group had already spotted me, and I didn't have the courage to run away at that point. Our waiter was a young guy named Mike D., who needs some more training. He did get the food orders correct. He got the drink orders correct. However, the timing was not so good. Soup appetizers arrived after, or with, entrees. The wonderful bread that Moretti's is justly famous for did not arrive at all until halfway through our meal, when one of the diners said, hey, how come every other table got bread and we didn't? Mike then brought one small loaf for 9 people. (By the way, the bread was fantastic.) Getting waters was an issue. Here's a hint - when you have nine people, bring nine glasses of water and a couple pitchers. One person said, it's okay, bring the lemonade with dinner. It came when he was on his last bite of dinner. Our waiter never came to ask if we needed anything, how was the food, etc. Mike, that's your opportunity to sell more food and drink. That's how your 18% tip gets even bigger. He's pretty clueless. What saved this evening? The food. It was really good. Everybody loved it. We had: minestrone soup, french onion soup, italian cobb salad, a hamburger, red snapper with wild rice, rosemary lemon chicken, parmesan-crusted salmon, rib-eye steak, penne chicken asiago, chicken limone, and chicken marsala. All delicious. If I have to go to Moretti's again, I would either sit outdoors, or explore the option of another dining area to the side, which apparently had no TVs. There is free parking alongside the railroad tracks at the Edison Park Metra station, but after 4pm. Don't try to park in the neighborhood - it's all permit parking. You can also find metered parking nearby. There's supposed to be free valet parking, but I did not see a valet. Somebody at the table said they have valets only in summer. I don't know if this is true or not. Bottom line - excellent food, amateurish service, and too much sports bar ambience for me. read more

How have I never written a review for Morertti's?????? Well, I do have to say, their outdoor section is spectacular in the summer. best patio in the area. The service is always extremely slow. Most of the time it's fine.. you're sitting outside enjoying the weather and your company.. but it gets aggravating when you've had an empty beer for 20 minutes. There are a lot of people majority of the time so I try to let it slide.. most of the time. The food is dependent on when you go. If you go during open patio season.. it's much different than winter months inside. There are just too many people for the kitchen to handle I think and the food is always terrible. In winter months when it's not as busy.. food is much better. I personally love the lemon chicken. Pizza is pretty good IN WINTER MONTHS ONLY. For some reason, their delivery is terrible no matter the time of year. always cold and just doesn't deliver well.
