I had a really great experience at More Smiles of Beverly. From the moment I walked in, the entire staff was welcoming and professional. Tati, Kali, Regina, and Tyresse were all amazing. I have pretty bad dental anxiety and had a previous bad experience with another dentist, so I was honestly nervous coming in. But Dr. Ademola Adekola Jr., DDS (Dr. A) and his team were compassionate, transparent, and very accommodating, which made a huge difference for me. Dr. A is hands down the best dentist I've ever encountered!! He's knowledgeable, caring, and uses technology expertly. You can tell he was meant to do this. - Inconvenient hours. - Kept me waiting 1.5 hours in the chair because they forgot I was there. - They do not want to be there "too late". They will ask you to come earlier to your appointments if you can't, they'll cancel it and give a BS excuse like "the machines are down". I used PTO for an appointment and they called me less than an hour beforehand to cancel. - They will forget what your appointment is for. I had to remind them that before they attached my Invisalign buttons, that they were supposed to clean my teeth. - They will try and make you fill out that dumb ass invite form every time you go. More Smiles of Beverly is NOT a reputable company. I went to this place for a dental consultation. I was informed that Dental Implants would be best for me. A dental treatment plan was developed; xrays were taken; and a dental scan was taken. Third party vendors were solicited for financing and I was expected to come up with thousands of dollars by the next appointment. I went home and re-evaluated my ability to stick with this plan and determined that it was too much money. I called the next day and the day after that for a treatment plan adjustment. I sent emails, but no one from this place bothered to return my call. Two weeks later a woman calls me up and says that I cannot cancel the plan and that the dental company has spent all the money from the third party vendors. My teeth still look the same and they only did an exam, xray, and dental scan. I was not offered any adjustments to the plan. This is NOT how a reputable company operates. Once again More Smiles of Beverly does disappoint! Dr. Omar installed my implant just last year and it is already loose. They offer a lifetime warranty on all implants and as such, I was told that in order to have my implant adjusted, I needed to return to their office. (I had found another implant doctor. More on that later). Once I arrived, I was informed that I had to pay for the appointment because my insurance benefit maxed out for the year. The administrative assistant (AA) asked how I was going to pay, and I handed them my Care Credit card and was told "...we no longer accept that card." My incredulous reaction was glossed over by the AA who acknowledged that they used to accept Care Credit (not only did they, but Carmen would sit with you to explain- at length-how you could achieve all your dental dreams by charging it up to Care Credit. In the past, I have written another negative review about More Smiles and their lack of professionalism, led me to seek out another dental office where most people do use Care Credit. This dentist advised that because More Smiles installed the implant that now is loose, they should repair it given that there are multiple reasons why it could be loose. My advise to those considering making an appointment at More Smiles is to avoid them all together unless you have been affiliated with them previously-as I have- and have had any implants installed. I miss Dr. Adekole, who was always professional and to be fair- so is Dr. Omar - though the implant he installed has become loose. I am now forced to return to More Smiles against my better judgment and hope my continued saga offers an example of what to anticipate if your implants are installed by More Smile (my nick name for them is: "Less Smiles!") read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went in for a cleaning and spent two hours in there and no cleaning. They told me I had 5 cavities and I had to get them all filled, which would cost me a total of $1400. So, I decided to put a deposit of $133 (which I thought was weird for a dental office) but I still did it. I called more than once to remind them of the script, but they NEVER placed it. June 26, 2024. I had an 11 am appointment (the waiting room was packed, another new patient also had an 11 am appt.) at More Smiles of Bevery and I just left the office at 4:45 pm. They took me to the exam room at 1:30 pm. One of the office reps asked that I pay 149.99 for the visit and not bill my insurance company. At 2:15 they started taking xrays, and full mouth scan. The nurse and the xray technician/dental assistant were talking to me about my treatment plan. I have never seen a nurse in a dental practice, nor discuss treatment with the dental assist/xray technician. Maybe this is new age. At 3:15 the doctor came in, she was nice, just not who I scheduled the appointment with. He was nolonger taking new patient. The front office should have informed me of that when I scheduled the appointment. I was so overwhelmed by this time, they wanted to book dental cleaning into the next year and especially when I saw the pricing for an extraction. The fees were more than a quote I got from an oral surgeon. The had me wait to talk to someone about the treatment plan, who was taking their time. They didn't want to even give me a print out of my treatment plan. At 4:45, I left and told them I would be writing this review. July 26, 2024: During my initial visit (June 26,) I signed a release and requested they send me my dental xrays. I spoke with someone on July 25 and 26 and I haven't received the xrays/scans via email yet. Please be careful going to this dental office. They seem very nice and professional but they are deceitful and more money driven. Zero stars if I could. This place is a SCAM, a rip off and a POS trash dentist practice. They are greedy, greedy, greedy and unprofessional. First off they overbook, which is the first red flag. I was seen over an hour after my appointment time. The staff is nice but could use some customer service skills. I went in planning to get a deep cleaning. After X-Rays, it showed I had a lot of issues. Ok, that's fine because i haven't seen a dentist in years. So, I'm not surprised. I needed several extractions including a deep cleaning. The treatment plan they gave me included all that plus implants, fillings (for pre-cavities) wisdom teeth removal and then a bridge (or maybe invaslign) because I asked about closing a gap, all to the tune of $32,000. They didn't offer any cheaper options, or even ask if I wanted implants, or ask if I wanted to do anything at a later date. I agreed to the plan before seeing billing and when I heard that price I couldn't believe it. After some back and forth financial got it down to $17,500 which I agreed to but after some thought I wanted a second opinion and wanted to cancel. I called to cancel and was only told someone would call me back, but no one never did until it was time for my appointment and they wanted to confirm. NO! I've been calling to cancel! I got a loan for $13,000 and the rest I had to pay, it was over $4400. I put a down payment of $500 which was non-refundable, so another rip off. At the time I was going to get the services done, but even when I changed my mind, literally the next day, all money should still be returned. They were being greedy to get as much for a down payment as possible so give them as little as possible in case you change your mind. I DO NOT recommend them. I was in their office 5 hours. All these dentists out here are just greedy and it's sad. They don't return calls until they need something from you. If I have to call and chase them down that's a bad sign. When I looked over my paperwork a simple extraction for one tooth was $488. I'm sorry I basically just gave these fools $500 of my hard earned money, but lesson learned. Terrible. I would say only go there for the simplest thing insurance covers. I don't know what kind of work they do, but it can't be that great for what they wanna charge. I went in for a deep cleaning appointment that was scheduled for 07/13/2024 at 1130 hours. Upon arrival they informed me that there was a huge balance on my account. I asked to speak to someone regarding responsibility on this balance and was passed on to a billing representative. They stated I owed over $1,200 for procedures that were done dating all the back to December 2023. Before choosing my dentist, I called around and verified that my insurance plan was in-network and to avoid any surprise bills. Before any procedure was started, they had an accounting specialist come run the numbers by me and I again asked them to re verify my coverage before anything was started. They then came back and verified that the only thing I had to pay was the amount discussed, which they then hurried and charged my card before anything was done to make sure payment was approved. A few attempts to getting me to pay for the balance, I finally told them I would have to consult with an attorney regarding their unethical billing practices and asked for copies of all the documents that had my signature. She refused to give me any copies until I spoke o her manager. Only then was this representative encouraged to get her manager, after the mentioning of an attorney involvement. Her manager then came in and dropped the charges down to $700 since they admitted to being in the wrong but still shed I was responsible. Everytime I went in they had a different price for out of pocket or insurance procedures, if you have insurance it is MUCH more expensive. I believe that in its self is a crime because they are over charging my insurance, keeping me from being able to do future dental work. I believe if I had a balance due since the first procedure, they should of informed me then to avoid the balance getting any larger. I had a crown installed that had to be adjusted a few times. I've had issues with it chipping away since. I recently had a second opinion in which the dentist informed me that I never had a permanent crown but a temporary one that was cemented on. I'm trying to reach out to the office for an eval and hopefully a new treatment plan but I haven't heard back yet. I also did not get reimbursed due to issues between the office and my insurance company for 11 months. At this point, I'm hoping for a partial refund. Update: Both Dr. A and Dr. Chris inspected the crown and determined I not only needed a new one but the crown that was installed damaged the neighboring tooth. Another dentist said the crown was the wrong color and is eroding. I asked for the head dentist to repair it which they said was possible. Two days later, they want me to get the same assessment they completed two days ago and are now trying to send me elsewhere for a root canal. I understand why they are trying to get rid of me since accountability is not their practice. What I don't understand is why is this office okay with doing poor work and trying to pawn me off elsewhere instead of a partial reimbursement so I can get possibly save my tooth. If you have nothing but free time and like wasting gas on multiple useless visits, enjoy having your mouth numb repeatedly, given the runaround, told contradicting information and treatment plans, and not getting reimbursed than I'd recommend coming here. read more

The work done here was fine, but a bit expensive since I pay out of pocket. I saw a dentist for a few minutes for a referral in January 2023, and left after paying $102 with my credit card for the visit. Over a year later I keep receiving bills in the mail. More Smiles is a scam. Had x-rays and a consultation done. More Smiles gets you a loan for the work needed. In my case $13,500.00. Which I left the office approx. 7pm. Went home reviewed my finances and realized I was unable to afford the loan payments. The next morning approx. 630am I called office and canceled the appointment. Then called the momnt loan company to canceled the loan as mo work was done and appointment was canceled. Momnt loan company told me More Smiles of Beverly already received the $13,500.00 cause they said they did work already. The only thing they did was ×-rays and I paid for the x-rays before they took them. Then Mont told me it was up to More Smiles to refund the money. I called More Smiles to refund money and they told me "all sales are final" which was not told to me at the time of discussing the loan. It's almost a week and still have not refund the money back to Momnt loan company. Not returning my emails either. This is fraud. I am a year old on a fixed income. I am disappointed with MORE Smiles of Beverly. Having recently moved into the area, I wanted to establish a new dentist close to my home. After making an appointment I was contacted 5 times to confirm my appointment (2 emails, 2 phones calls and 1 text message) which I confirmed every time. Even though that was annoying I could live with it. What I wont live with is showing up 5-10 minutes before my scheduled appointment at 9:30 and being told at 10:02 that it will still be another 10 minutes (despite the fact that I showed up with all of the paperwork already printed off and filled out). I had another appointment at 10:45 so I had to leave and never actually saw anyone. Maybe they provide good care, but I would rather travel back into downtown where I know my appointment times will be honored then risk having to constantly wait around. read more

Well I thought this was going to be a great place because it is black owned but I was sadly mistaken. The only reason I'm giving this rating is because Dr. Ami really is an excellent dentist and went above and beyond to correct the half done job by Dr. A. First off I came here to get my yearly checkup and get my teeth cleaned. I ended up with a root canal and two crowns, minus $2800. It is what it is but the level of service from the dentist is severely lacking. I started my treatments with Dr. A ,who I saw before he started this practice and was very pleased with his work previously. From multiple canceled appointments, time wasted trying to see him (over 2 hours in one case) to slightly subpar work I cannot in good faith recommend him. After furiously explaining my specific situation,( temporary filling came out and I was left with a huge hole in my tooth), I  was finally seen by his associate dentist Dr. Ami to finish the work he started.  Dr. Ami is amazing but seems to be taking up the slack for Dr.A.  I was told multiple reasons for why Dr. A missed appointments. Dr. A had an emergency, he's sick, he's in the hospital and that none of this is under his control. Stupid question but if he's so sick why would you continue to fill up his appointment schedule  only to have to reschedule patients or call off at the last minute? Sorry you are sick. Be sick, heal and then resume your schedule.  I was also told he only works on Wednesdays, yet I was given an appointment for him on Friday. Whichever story his office is trying to stick with at least get the story straight between you. I hate wasting my time and this place has done enough of it. They could care less about you sitting in that tiny waiting room or outside in your car wasting your precious time. The staff is friendly and nice enough, Jameka, Michael, Rikia and Rachel and the practice is very clean . What I  wanted and expected was to receive the work I agreed to and paid for upfront to be done in a timely manner. I started this process at the end of June, just finished at the end of September. If I waited on Dr. A I'm sure it would have been well into Christmas and maybe beyond. Unacceptable. Take your appointments on time or at least if you are running late call your patients to give them a heads up ALL the time. You seem to have a decent amount of people working for you to make a courtesy call. Also get a receipt and double check with your insurance. If by some chance you still decide to come here ask for Dr. Ami or ANY other dentist but still be prepared to wait because I'm sure they'll be taking care of the overflow of patients that were rescheduled for Dr. A. If I started with Dr. Ami I don't think my experience would have been as messy. But I won't be going to any dentist anytime soon. I only came here because I trusted Dr. A but he did me no favors.
