My daughter called ahead to check about gluten-free options on the menu as the list of what he can and cannot eat is very limiting at this time and he is still figuring things out which can be rough for a high school senior. We were seated promptly in the front window area and Shannon S. was our server. Now I don't know if Shannon was told to expect us, but she hit the ball out of the proverbial park. Not only did she suggest side options for grandson, but when questions about ingredients were asked that she couldn't answer she went to the kitchen to presumably ask chef--but she came back to the table with answers AND a binder containing all the ingredients for each menu item (no, sorry that has garlic as a seasoning; no sorry that has a sauce with onions; no sorry that has cheese). In the end, grandson was able to choose with confidence side dishes in place of the standard menu options so that his meal wouldn't mess with his digestive system--he became more of an active participant in deciding his dinner--and that his meal was one he really, really, really enjoyed. He was surprised that a restaurant would go to those lengths to help a customer.
