Since there were 4 of us we were able to order a bunch of stuff to share and have a taste of everything (my preferred way of dining out). You put in your entire order at once and the serve will course it out so it worked out perfectly for our group! Among so many interesting dishes I think the standouts were the carrot steak and the mushroom fettuccine! But honestly everything we ordered was good! I think the steak tartare was the only thing that was slightly underwhelming; I don't think it was super flavorful. We also got the potato donuts for dessert and those were fantastic and had such a great texture. The restaurant itself was gorgeous and felt really nice and intimate without ever feeling unapproachable. Our servers were great but it definitely felt like they were understaffed since there were a few times we wanted to ask a question or order more drinks and couldn't find anyone. Overall though definitely a great experience and would love to come back!

We ordered a bunch of dishes and tried several cocktails--everything was really solid. But the potato donut holes with thyme? Easily the highlight. Seriously so good. Something you would see in a resort town on the water, similar to the old Weathervane in Charlevoix or Ricciardi's in Eastport. Price per plate is a bit higher, but it's not a turn off as the walleye, and Euro burger both were really good. Our server was also very sweet and helpful in knowing her menu well, and was able to assist us with deciding a little better on what we wanted. Food was served promptly too. Most menu items end up around $30 per person, as it's $1.00 for raw onion or $3.00 if you want fries etc. The cons of this trip: The burger was beyond medium well, and very dry. Our server did all she could to assist, it's not her fault. There are many places that have trouble getting temperatures right at times. She had another one right away to replace it. And it was fine after that. The other issue is sports. I'm not sure what it is with this state, that everybody seems to think everything has to be about sports. It suddenly turned from a nice atmosphere, to guys uncontrollably losing bladder control, yelling and clapping over some game on the tv. I guess we were hoping to get away from the sports bar atmosphere for a minute, and apparently there's nowhere anyone can go, including here. Maybe one day they could put Yellowstone reruns on, and we can jump up and down cheering uncontrollably when someone goes to the train station! Not trying to down the place, we think it was just an off night for us, so we'll try again in the future. They have some pretty good reviews from others and we're hoping to get there also. Everybody (EXCEPT the Pound in Brighton) deserves a few tries. It's a very clean place with beautiful accents, and the flame lanterns outside are a great touch.

The ambiance was not as fun as I would have expected but of course the crowd determines that. Took some time to get greeted, drinks, and (complimentary which is a nice touch) bread and butter. Good news bad news that because that took some time our dinners came out almost immediately afterward. The Michigan Salad was good but overpriced at $18 especially when that doesn't include chicken. Asked my husband if it was as good as the last one he had at a neighborhood grill and the answer was no. So 3 stars there. 3 stars also for the chicken picatta. Chicken piccata is my favorite dinner dish so I've had it at quite a few places. This one just didn't have much flavor. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the asparagus was great, but the piccata sauce just wasn't it. Neither were the mashed potatoes. Good portion and overall good dish, just doesn't compare in flavor to other restaurants. The owner (I assume) came by every time to ask how things were which is always very much appreciated. The live music was great, patio beautiful. Inside which we saw on our way out looked much livelier with sports on. We'll definitely go back and sit inside to enjoy a game! As we left we were thanked for coming by two different people at the door. It's always fantastic when this happens.....when you feel like your patronage is appreciated you'll go back again and again. :)

There is so much to look at in here and I love the big open dining room. They do live music Wednesday - Saturday from 7-10 pm and have a beautiful outdoor patio. I got the pork tenderloin dinner which was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. My daughter got the Cajun Alfredo and was able to substitute regular grilled chicken to suit her palate. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. I will definitely come back again .

AWESOME ! Service over and above what might normally be expected!…read more On April 20 while visiting daughter and grandkids in Brighton, my husband and I wanted to take everyone (daughter, boyfriend, grandson, grandson's girlfriend, granddaughter) out for a nice dinner. We were a little hesitant about finding a restaurant as grandson just started going through the process of determining food sensitivities. My daughter called ahead to check about gluten-free options on the menu as the list of what he can and cannot eat is very limiting at this time and he is still figuring things out which can be rough for a high school senior. We were seated promptly in the front window area and Shannon S. was our server. Now I don't know if Shannon was told to expect us, but she hit the ball out of the proverbial park. Not only did she suggest side options for grandson, but when questions about ingredients were asked that she couldn't answer she went to the kitchen to presumably ask chef--but she came back to the table with answers AND a binder containing all the ingredients for each menu item (no, sorry that has garlic as a seasoning; no sorry that has a sauce with onions; no sorry that has cheese). In the end, grandson was able to choose with confidence side dishes in place of the standard menu options so that his meal wouldn't mess with his digestive system--he became more of an active participant in deciding his dinner--and that his meal was one he really, really, really enjoyed. He was surprised that a restaurant would go to those lengths to help a customer. Brighton Bar and Grill was a favorite spot when husband and I lived in Howell years ago and will definitely come back to the high service and quality food we experienced on this visit.
