Leslie is a dream to work with; her and the entire staff were always so lovely, kind and professional. Leslie and Pablo the project manager stayed in constant contact with me regarding the project and any and every issue was immediately addressed or resolved. Each individual sub contractor that was sent out to the house were absolutely the most friendly, respectful, punctual and skilled artisans in their craft. The electricians were super sweet and always punctual and efficient with their time. The painters were so nice and friendly and incredibly hard workers. They showed up early and literally worked non stop all day each day that they came. Pablo, the head carpenter and all of his guys were so talented and really worked hard to produce their best work! I'll admit I'm a very detailed oriented person to a fault and they really managed to exceed our expectations!! Overall I'd have to say for someone who is a bit picky and expects the best quality of product and craftsmanship and yet appreciates a great value, I'd 100% give Modern Design and Remodeling a full recommendation and stamp of approval! The crew had to remove my back yard fence gate in order to get materials to the back yard. I was promised that it would be reinstalled the way it was but they did a shoddy job replacing my back fence gate and now there is a larger than one inch gap between my gate and the latch. (see picture). I brought this up to Nova Roca's attention who said they would fix it but it has been over 3 weeks since we spoke and have not heard any follow-up. Also, the crew left a lot of concrete rubble in the grass that I had to take a shop vac to remove.

If you are thinking about an outdoor fireplace, then talk to Antonio. Have pics of fireplaces you like in order to give him an idea-vision of what you want. P.S. The fireplace we had built has a 3-foot thick concrete foundation base and for good reason: weight. My fireplace weighs approximately 16,000 pounds. 3 - 4 inches of concrete will not support that weight.

One of the problems I had was when you call to place an order, the staff are using something like a walkie-talkie, so you hear a lot of background noise and have difficulty hearing them. I was able to arrange delivery for an added cost. Originally it looked likeI was going to have to pick up the transitions separately because they would not be able to deliver them together, but they did manage to do that. Luckily, they always have a three day window for deliveries, because the delivery truck broke down and it was two days later that I got my delivery. They did not mention that the delivery would just be dumped on the street in front of the house, such that I would have to carry everything on myself! I was also a little annoyed that the top planks in the packaging were damaged. We had extra planks so it wasn't so bad. Therefore, I would strongly recommend going to the store and picking up your own flooring if possible. If it hadn't been for this, it would've been a five star review.

They also have a wonderful selection of pots and gift items to choose from. I did not get a chance to see everything but I will try to next time. I did buy some wonderful flowers. I planted them right when I got home. They are looking great!!! Some people say they are pricey. For me they seem to be the same as every where else. The cashier was nice. One thing I will mention: they do charge a fee of 3% on credit card charges. If you pay by debit or cash no extra fee.

So the value of the plants is high and therefore the prices tend to be a bit higher as well. But you really are getting quality. I love shopping here.
