I called Moore thinking, from another company's opinion, that I was going to need total a replacement of my furnace and AC. Very near to my installation date, I got cold feet because it came to my attention that my existing system would work for another 5-7 years if I just had it serviced. Moore was extremely flexible with my needs and allowed me to change the work to be done with very little notice ahead of time. I proceeded to have a whole house fan installed, and the installers kept my house clean, did the job fast, and did the job right. My past experience with the people at Moore Mechanical was a good one, but that was a few years ago. Recently, they dropped the ball as far as customer service goes. My story: I made my appointment for the morning and arranged my schedule with my boss to work from home that morning. The appointment time-frame came and went. After it passed, I called to let them know that no-one showed up and that I did not receive a call indicating that they would be late. I had to leave a message as the entire office must have been out to lunch. Later that afternoon, I received a call stating that they were at my door and that non-one was home. This was approximately 4 pm. Shortly after 5 (5:04 pm) I called their office. Again, no answer so I left a message. I'm sure that they were indeed sorry for the mishap as they called me at just after 7:30 in the morning the following day. Usually I don't take calls at home that early with the exception of friends and family. While I appreciated the call, I was not happy with the excuse, they simply said they had me down for a different time that day. Convenient, but disappointing. I rarely schedule appointments in the afternoon due to my work schedule. Perhaps it was an honest mistake. Perhaps they should confirm the day before or the day of just to make sure. Perhaps I should have confirmed. With the way customer service trends are going, it seems more and more burden is placed on the customers shoulder to keep things aligned. Sigh .... read more

Absolutely amazing. We had a ductless mini-split Heat/AC system installed in our home. It was an expensive / large project for us. I received 4 bids for this project. Moore Mechanical was the only one who quoted it as I requested. They were knowledgeable and professional. They were on time every time. They did a pre-project walk-through to go over all the details to make sure we were on the same page about where everything would go. Then they followed the plan exactly. Flawless service. When we moved into our house, we found that the clothes did not dry with one drying cycle. An investigation found that the dryer vent that goes to the exterior wall was completely plugged with lint. I called around and the other mechancial heating and air conditioning contractors did not want to even bother with looking at the problem. A few gave extremely high prices on the phone for complete replacement of the vent. Moore was more than willing to come out to try to clear the vent with a power brush. When the power brush failed to clear the vent, they gave a price for replacing the vent that was much cheaper than the others. The work was scheduled, they came and replaced the vent to the exterior wall, installed a new cover, and now everything works well. I could not be more satisfied. read more

About a year ago I contacted Moore Mechanical because of their high Yelp ratings. My furnace usually worked fine but perhaps once or twice a day it would blow only cold air after initial startup and never shut off. I had to shut the fan off manually at the thermostat. They were friendly on the phone and promptly sent out a young guy to do the repair. He poked around in the attic (that's where the heater is) and said my problem was restricted air flow and I needed to open all my vents and replace the filter. He also raised the fan speed to help push the air through. That sounded suspicious since most of the time it worked fine. After he left, the heater continued to operate as before - occasional cold air. Made a recall, the same guy did more tinkering in the attic and said it should be ok now but I was probably going to need a new circuit board of some kind - the thing that runs the whole shebang. He left leaving me to decide whether I wanted to do the more expensive repair. Of course the heater still wasn't fixed. I let it go for a year shutting it off manually once or twice a day as needed. A few days ago I decided to call another repairman who came by and he diagnosed the problem just from my description suggesting it was probably a dirty or corroded flame sensor which he could clean with steel wool but suggested a new one would be better. He put in a new flame sensor and the heater is operating like new. Two stars for the friendly and prompt service - no stars for the repair. read more

We paid Moore Mechanical nearly $4000 over an 8 year period to perform annual maintenance on our home's two new HVAC systems. 60 days after a recent "tune-up", the capacitor in one of our A/Cs blew and melted wires which damaged the compressor. We called Moore the next morning but they were too busy to come out. After just a few minutes of searching we were able to get immediate service from another highly rated HVAC provider here on yelp. That company determined that the melted capacitor should have been replaced years ago. I spoke to Moore's owner and even he agreed that the capacitor's "reading" collected by Moore in 2016 and 2017 suggested replacement - and he acknowledged that they never told us about the capacitor problems, but he was unwilling to accept any responsibility. So over a 2-3 year period, Moore neglected to identify an OBVIOUS and OBSERVABLE problem and failed notify us in advance before damaged occurred. Shame on Moore for taking our money and allowing an OBVIOUS and OBSERVABLE problem to persist long enough to damage a $3000 compressor. This is like your auto mechanic neglecting to tell you that you need new brake pads! We've lost all trust in Moore and won't be using them or recommending their services again. read more

I contacted Moore Heating & Air when my furnace was in the blink over the cold Christmas period! I found a coupon on Groupon and while the coupon was for a maintenance they honored it to run a diagnostics! They were also very quick to respond despite it being a very busy time for them!! Kevin was very professional and explained everything he was doing! He's also got a great sense of humor! The work turned out to be a little more challenging than first anticipated! Kevin was relentless and identified and fixed a number of issues with the system and overall spent almost 4 hours making sure everything was working as it should be! I had Moore install a replacement HVAC system and that went ok but once they got the check the customer service ended. I booked the complementary annual inspection a year later and they gave me a date 5 weeks out and a four hour window. I waited at the house for four hours and they never showed up or called. I called the next day and they said they had no record of any appointment. So they booked me another appointment 5 weeks out for today. Low and behold, they didn't show up and didn't call. I assume they were giving priority to paying appointments so they just blew me off. Either that or the office staff is incompetent. I have now wasted 8 hours of my time waiting on them and they don't even have the courtesy to cancel. Twice now I've had to clear everything away from the furnace for their visit and now need to move it back. You pay a premium for their services so take that into account when deciding on your provider. read more

The Cooling unit that services our Computer Server Room was mismanaged twice leading to a complete shut down of our ERP System. Not only was the person who answered the phone helpful, but the person sent out to service our heater was really helpful too! Called Moore Mechanical to do a routine maintenance on our perfectly functioning A/C and heating systems. Tim came out, serviced the heater and after getting started on the A/C informed us that it is too cold outside to carry out the test. Never received a follow up appointment or call from the company. Two months later we turned on the A/C, the A/C instantly shut down and caused a short frying an entire electrical circuit in our kitchen destroying over 2K of appliances. Called Moore mechanical, Shawn was sent out and informed me that my A/C is completely out of coolant, and that the connections on the A/C were loose. The next day Tim came out and filled out 10 lb of coolant, and stuck me with a $500 bill. When trying to discuss this with the owner and explain to him that our routine maintenance on our perfectly functioning A/C unit turned into a $2500 expense for us, he took no responsibility for the fact that Tim most likely left a loose connection on his visit resulting in a complete loss of refrigerant on our unit. Will never use their services again or recommend them. read more

Moore Mechanical replace all our duct work in 40 year old ranch-style home. First they did a full assessment to determine the condition of our original duct work. Not surprised to learn that we had a 40% loss of air .. which is why each room in our home was a different temperature. Steve Moore and his team were terrific if reconfiguring the new duct work to be more efficient and help us achieve a more consistent temperature throughout the house. I was amazed that the job took just 2 days from start to finish. The Moore Mechanical crew were neat, polite, and efficient. They came back promptly to make a few minor adjustments and were focused on making sure we were totally happy. It's a pleasure to go to our master bedroom at the far end of the house and not be freezing due to lack of heat or roasting because the air conditioning never made it that far. These guys did an awesome job. I got three quotes from three different local vendors here on Yelp. Kevin was the most knowledgable guy by far and his recommendations made so much sense I was shocked they weren't recommended by the others. We were having issues with a loud system that drew directly from the living room which made it nearly impossible to hear and converse. We were also having poor airflow to the back bedrooms and extreme temperatures in the master and guests right of the trunk. We replaced the HVAC to a two speed variable stage, sound proofed the box the unit was sitting on which was being directly drawing from through the living room, added another draw for more air, added dampers off the trunk to the master to force more air down the hall and a damper to the first room off the hall. This made a huge difference in the sound and air flow. We couldn't be more happier. I drilled kevin for two hours in my living room and he was so patient and kind he really had an answer to all my questions. I had done some serious research to make sure I was making a good decision. He was able to give me specifics about exactly what unit I would be getting. I wanted to know just like I would if it were a fridge or dishwasher. When the crew came they were on time, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and were in and out from 8 am-2pm. Just a great overall experience. I think these guys are the amazing!!!!!! I highly recommend them. This review is long overdue. My AC broke down last summer. My AC would turn on, but would not cool down. They tried refilling the freeon, & that did not work. They told me if its not the coolant than it may be a major part in my AC that is bad. Sure enough it was the expensive part. To my surprise they asked me about how old the building was & if i had paperwork for the AC. They were able to get the part covered through the warranty. WOW!!!!!! They did all the paperwork for it and I was left with a reasonable bill. These guys are very professional, always had shoe covers when they worked inside my home. Very polite and friendly. Even the staff at the office were great. Its hard to find amazing professional people like the staff at Moore Mechanical. I wish all businesses operated like them.
