We enjoyed a lovely green pizza. One of the best I've had. Super thin crust. Lots of flavor. It was rush time because of the pride festival they put on today. Fun upbeat music playing. Glad we could support local and pride.

Claim to be a family restaurant but they have Tarantino and his R-rated violence on the flat screen behind the bar on a Sunday afternoon. Mediocre pizza, BTW

I have ordered from this place a few times and they have always been super nice but they almost always messed up my order. I love that they are inclusive! I always get the vegan cheese because I am unable to have dairy. I love that they have vegan cheese. The most recent mess up was, last time I ordered they gave me a pizza with bacon on it. I don't eat bacon(for religious reasons ).I had to give it to someone else. This time the pizza looked like this(See picture attached). It has been a good place and good service but I will not be ordering anything from there anymore.

Second time at moondog, first time trying pesto based pizza. I was skeptical at first, but it turned out AMAZING! I would give it 5 stars, but my wife ordered the 2 slice lunch special and the slices of pepperoni pizza that came out looked terrible and tasted old.

Moondog is a special place. Not only is everyone made to feel welcome and safe when they come through the doors, but it's such a good bite to eat!! I've tried the Moon wings, the garlic knots, multiple hand tossed pies, and latest, a calzone that made me want to go kiss the chef lol. I've never been disappointed. Pull up to the bar and enjoy any of the handcrafted cocktails, wine, or beer and you'll be a happy camper. Thanks for being there Moondog!

Really enjoyed this place. It seems to be one of Morganton's best known restaurants to people that live outside of Morganton. I found the garlic knots to be your standard fare. The dough was done well, but basic. The real unique treat was the Dogfather Pizza (Dijon mustard base, pepperoni, salami, banana peppers, white onion, provolone). I've never had a mustard based pizza before, so this really stood out on the menu. We have to try Greenway still, but this is currently our #1 pizza place in Morganton

Food is creative and a lot of toppings offered. Open space with lively vibes! Food came out quickly as well.

The fact that our wonderful waitress went out of her way to correct a mere one-dollar error--without waiting for it to be discovered later--speaks volumes about her character. Even though she seemed pleasantly busy (or perhaps she's simply one of those delightful overachievers who takes genuine pride in her work), she still chose to do the right thing with a smile. It made me chuckle in the best way and turned an already lovely meal into something truly memorable. The food was perfect, the service was warm and thoughtful, and the entire experience left me feeling genuinely appreciated. Thank you, dear waitress, for your refreshing honesty and kind heart. We started with some wings because... well... it's in the name. The wings were nice and crispy but were pretty small with little meat. Also for some reason we only got wings and no drumsticks... not sure if that's how they do it or just coincidence but since I prefer the drumsticks... not cool if that's how they do it. Also I have never seen wings sauced like they do here. Normally they are just tossed in sauce to get them coated, these were coated but then like more sauce all over the top. They also had some decent beer prices with their "in-house" beer being $4 for a pretty big glass. For our main we both had burgers. This is where they redeemed themselves because the burger was really good. It's a smash burger which I love but not that many places around do them. Fries were also good, nice and crispy. I will say I ordered mine with no sauce, my girlfriend ordered it as it comes with mayo and mustard.... It was DRENCHED in sauce. She regretted it so if you don't like a ton of sauce ask for it on the side... too much sauce seems to be a theme here. Last issue was checkout. Instead of just paying like any other place, they send you a link to pay online. You have to Emeterio all your info type your card number etc, it's kind of a pain. However after entering everything and submitting it I get an error but at the same time I get an alert from my credit card that it has been charged. Had to go see manager who said it wasn't the first time. Just take payment at the table like everyone else. If they want to implement some online thing then better make sure it's EASIER than the normal way and that it actually works. Anyways great burger, everything else was meh, has potential.

But I wiggled my vehicle into a tight spot and went in for a burger and a beer. I believe there were about 10 to 12 options available on tap, and I went with what was listed as an Irish stout from somewhere in the Northeast. It wasn't bad, though it seemed more like an imperial stout. My sandwich choice was the Cowboy, with ground elk at its core. It was a good choice too, and the accompanying fried onions and melted cheese complemented the meat well. I ordered the burger medium, but I think I'd go for medium rare if I could go back in time. The medium option wasn't bad, but I think a little less heat and a little more moisture would only make things better. I kept things simple with the side item, going for the fries which were of the thinly sliced McDonald's variety, not bad but nothing remarkable. The server covering my table was pleasant and prompt, though soft spoken so I occasionally had to ask her to repeat herself amidst the music and noise. I wouldn't call any of these selections a bargain, but the prices didn't veer too far from what you'll find in many burger joints. All in all, not an earthshaking experience, but a place I'd be willing to go back to. 3.5 stars.

We found parking on a side street near Blowing Rock Brewing, so decided to enjoy a drink and get some lunch. We were seated quickly, near a heater, which was nice to help us warm up after being on the mountain. A waiter came by with menus to take our order. We asked for some suggestions, but he was a little less than enthused to offer advise. They had a good variety of beers, so my wife and I each got one, and shared them. We got the Pina Colada Kolsch and the Cloud Rise Hazy Ipa. Both were tasty, the Pina Colada Kolsch had a much stronger pineapple flavor than I expected, but in a good way. For food we started with the white cheddar poblano, which I expected to be more of a liquid queso for some reason. It was instead for of a soft, spread, which was really good, and paired well with the chips. And then we split the Turkey Reuben, which I figured would be made with deli meat, instead, it was warm, cooked chunks of turkey, really great flavor, and hit the spot for us. The sides with the sandwiches were a bit lacking, only offering hot chips, and green beans....I've never gotten the whole hot chip craze, but green beans just seamed like too odd of a side option for a sandwich It was a good visit, and a good meal, to get us back on our feet. Overall, a nice space, with bar seating, a back room, a back and front patio, plenty of space to hang out, relax and enjoy their beer. Food and drink were both good and worth a visit if you're in the area.
