I admit to being a carnivore, but I often eat vegetarian and usually like it. I had a hamburger at the Secret Vegan Cafe recently and it was excellent. So, I was hoping for a similar experience at Moonburger. Unfortunately, I found the burger patty flavorless, i hardly noticed the cheese, the lettuce was minimal and wilted, the pickle was good and I liked the bun. The fries were great, Overall, I ate the burger, but I won't be back. One thing a vege burger needs is seasoning--how hard is that? A slice of tomato would be nice, too. read more

Wow. The best alternative meat burger that I've ever had, and I've had some really great ones. I ordered the classic burger, hot fries, and the brownie batter shake. The wait was about three cars long on a weekday evening at 6:30 pm. I couldn't tell that the burger wasn't real beef, likely because of the way they processed the impossible meat. The soft potato roll and the smashed patty was reminiscent of Shake Shack, but the pickles and crispy French onions took it beyond. I wasn't even hungry, but I inhaled the burger. My husband and I have now gone twice and both times there were about 10 cars in front of us and both times it took 45 minutes just to get up to the front to order. Then 10 more minutes until we got to the window to get our food. I can only assume this is not intentional - serving 12 people an hour has got to be a money-losing proposition. Absolutely LOVE this place! From start to finish the experience was pretty wonderful. I came with a few friends on a beautiful sunny Sunday at 1:30pm. Line was a few cars long, but was kept moving by what I would soon learn was very pleasant and efficient drive-thru service. The teller was kind and quick. He got our order down quickly and within minutes we were picking up our food and on our way. We tried everything on the menu. Cheeseburger was incredible - rivaling a shake shack burger. The double onion was yum yum yum. The hot fries were so perfect. The cheese sauce - YES! This feels like your neighborhood burger joint, but for the modern day. Soft squishy potato buns, juicy patty, pickle and fried onion for a zingy crunch, a caramelized onion for depth of flavor, lettuce, and a secret sauce. I could go on... they did forget one Diet Coke - but no big deal. Finally, the chocolate shake. Creamy, chocolatey, and dairy free?! I never have written a review on a fast food restaurant and it gives me no pleasure to do so but I feel compelled to do so for MoonBurger in Kingston NY. My husband and I had see a line of cars at the place and it peaked our interest. On the day I went, I was 1 of 2 cars at 12:30pm and considered myself lucky. There was a very friendly guy who met me and explained what the only 2 items were on the menu (Hamburger or Cheeseburger) You could have fries and a drink with that so I ordered a CB and fries. I drove around to the window and was greeted and told I owed $10.56 for my order.....WOW that was extremely high so I thought that I was going to get the best CB I'd ever had. After waiting about 4 minutes and seeing 5-6 people inside who seemed to turn around in circles without doing much I got my CB. I said to the gal "Is the CD down in the middle" and she looked at me like what do you mean, of course. I went home, cut my CB in half to share with my husband and IT WAS RAW in the middle!!!!!. Plus we were shocked that for $10.56 we got a 'little' piece of lettuce that did not cover the whole bun, a few caramelized onions and a pickle. WOW certainly no value there!!!. After we cooked the Burger we sat down to eat it with the heated up fries. The burger had 'filler' meaning it was not all burger meat in it and we give the flavor a rating of 1. DO NOT eat your burger before checking to see if it is cooked!!!. You may get sick! read more

The burgers and fries were great and on their own I would rate them a five. The shake not so much. I also think they should offer unsweetened ice tea. Otherwise, very enjoyable, and as someone who eats meat, I didn't miss the real stuff- nor did the two people I was with. The only other reason for a 4 instead of a 5 is the physical space, it's very squishy to get your car around and then you have to consider where you want to eat once you get your food. The scenic places they suggest on an app are too far and the nearby options are the Park and Ride by the thruway, the neighboring Quickcheck (who I'm sure would not appreciate it) or the Hanford shopping mall down the road. We opted for the mall and we ended up getting additional drinks at Hannaford to replace the two shakes that none of us thought were worth the calories. I ordered two combo meals and two milkshakes. Wait time was a bit long They had me "pull up" to wait for my food which I didn't understand at first because if you go there you will see that it is a one way drive thru so there's not really anywhere to "pull up". When my food was finally brought out they gave me an extra fry for the wait, but they forgot one of my milkshakes. The food itself was not the best. Buns were soggy, patty flavor was decent but the condiments fell out as you ate it super messy! Milkshake tasted chalky. Probably wouldn't visit again as there are other vegetarian or vegan friendly options in close proximity that are less expensive, taste better, and more professional staff. read more
